He has mackeral tabby stripes that run in boring, even lines throughout his orange fur. They are a shade darker than the rest of him, barely noticeable at a distance. It almost seems as though his pelt were trying to keep its tabby status a secret. His eyes are so green that they stand out in stark contrast with the rest of his face, competing for attention with his bright coat. They are a narrow almond shape, almost squinty. They peer out keenly from his face, always seeming to watch others very closely. He has long, white whiskers that drape down from his muzzle almost decoratively, twitching when he speaks. When he does speak, this tom sounds nasally, with a harsh, high-pitched voice that will drop only slightly as he ages.

The first thing noticeable about Todkit is his small size. He stands up to shoulder height with most other kits, despite his loud and overbearing personality. As a result, he has to rely on trickery to win fights, tripping up his denmates and dismissing them as clumsy. His build is lanky and slim, like the creature for which he was named. His face is narrow, with a tapered muzzle and sharp angles. His overall build is not very muscular, but lean enough to not make him appear physically weak. He has a short, dark ginger pelt which glows a brighter orange in the sunlight. Its strands are soft and whispy, giving him a slightly fluffy outline. His fur gets shorter around his face, emphasising his sharper features. He has mackeral tabby stripes that run in boring, even lines throughout his orange fur. If there’s one thing that’s strange about Todkit, it’s his lack of competitiveness with other kits. He doesn’t really care if he doesn’t win a game, or if he’s perhaps not the best hunter as an apprentice, or is behind on his training. He doesn’t feel the need to prove himself specifically to other cats. If the consequences for failing are not too great, he is not bothered. If the reward for succeeding is not too great, he is not bothered. It’s not necessarily that he doesn’t try, he tries if he sees there’s something directly in it for him. He couldn’t care less what others thought of him, it was really just about getting what he wants. This lack of competitiveness means that, at least at first, he doesn’t get into that much conflict with other apprentices. This also means that he doesn’t have much drive to succeed unless there isn’t something in it for him. He feels no need to push himself beyond what is necessary, making him a bit of an underachiever. Even if he’s capable of success, the reward must be great enough for him to even bother.
Todkit is quick to lose his temper. He can be irritable and grumpy a lot of the time, but it takes very little for him to finally blow his fuse. Careful where you thread with this young tom, for he will lash out any chance that he gets. His anger can be as fiery as his pelt, sometimes leading him to make rash decisions where he otherwise would not. He may even physically lash out at others when angry, especially if it had been building up over time. His anger is explosive and dangerous, sometimes even frightening in its intensity. He is intolerant of cats arguing with him, quick to interpret others as threats to him if they disagree. This intensity in anger can also work in his favour, keeping others a paw’s length and protecting himself from getting hurt. Often, it allows him to intimidate others into agreeing with him or avoiding him, which is just fine by Todkit’s standards. Unfortunately, he does not have the physical prowess to back up his fury, so may find himself losing more than winning conflicts.
Todkit is very confident about his own opinions. He likes to think for himself rather than allow others to sway him with their opinions. He views rules as arbitrary and prefers to use his own opinion on what should and shouldn’t be right. Which, of course, is usually bent in his own favour. He isn’t easily bought in by other cats, and tends to be sceptical about the things he is told. This can be a positive, as he rarely takes things at face value and instead thinks on his own paws. No matter what, Todkit will always prioritise his own wellbeing and needs. As a result, he would much rather flee from a fight than take part in it. He doesn’t see the value in risking his pelt for someone else, and would slip away and abandon his Clan during a raid at a moment’s notice. He is an utter wimp when it comes to fights he knows he can’t win, and sees no shame in backing down.
He doesn’t really commit to other cats in terms of “getting close” with others. He gets easily bored with friends and other relationships and often neglects them. The only time he will ever put effort into a relationship is if he has a specific goal in mind, or there’s some advantage he can get out of it. Otherwise, he doesn’t bother, and would rather keep an emotional distance from other cats. He takes a realistic outlook on life, and views relationships as pointless distractions from his biggest priority… himself. He wants to be happy, feel safe, and be satisfied with life, and he doesn’t see the problem in pushing others out of the way to get what he wants. “Clan loyalty” is something that makes very little sense to him, even at a young age. He doesn’t see the value in hurting yourself for the benefit of a bunch of random cats who just so happened to live where you were born… but he also doesn’t want to have to live alone and hunt for himself. It’s nice to feel safe and protected in a Clan, but he lacks the drive to help others the way he wants to be helped.

[attr="class","cp cp-cake"] BIRTH
Todkit didn't come into this world through a tale of love, affection and trust. Instead, he was his father Driftshade had simply been looking for a transactional litter. A molly willing to bear his kits and raise them into fine, sturdy warriors with good blood. The problem was finding someone that suited his standards, which were incredibly high. And even when they did suit his standards, what then? There was no guarantee that a molly would agree to carry a litter for such a soulless reason. At first, Foxfire didn't quite seem like the match he was looking for. She was abrasive, headstrong, known for her fiery personality. But the two found common ground in their dislike for the leadership at the time, and decided to hatch a plot to raise a generation of kittens who would uphold their values and help shape the Clan into something better. Something stronger. And so, Todkit, Coyotekit and Emberkit were brought into the world.
