Her parents, two mollies named Briarskies and Sweetgrass, fell head over tail for each other. They had been close friends since they were apprentices, and their love only grew more and more undeniable as time went on. Eventually they proudly declared to the Clan that they had become mates, much to the disappointment of their parents. Briarskies's parents came from a long line of proud StoneClan cats where devotion to both Clan and Silverpelt were paramount. As Briarskies and Sweetgrass could not bear kits together, her kin viewed the union as a disgrace and were enraged by the prospect that they may never have grandchildren. Desperate to earn her family's approval of her mate, Briarskies decided that she and Sweetgrass would find a surrogate tom to father their kits. They found their prospective surrogate in a tom named Applegaze, who was close friends with Sweetgrass. And so Peachkit came into the world an only child, with the legacy of StarClan looming over her. Briarskies's parents still expressed dark disapproval of her female mate, but they were hopeful that Peachkit could grow to expand upon their legacy with a respectable tom. While Peachkit was doted upon by her grandparents, Sweetgrass and Briarskies were vehemently ignored by their family, growing more and more uncomfortable of the beliefs Peachkit's grandparents were shoving upon her young shoulders. She grew into Peachpaw with a rather warped view of StarClan and the world, wary of those her grandparents insisted were "wrong". Perhaps Hawkstar knew exactly what he was doing when he apprenticed her to Maplefire. Perhaps not. Either way, Peachpaw found herself with a rather controversial mentor in the eyes of her disgusted grandparents. Maplefire's father had been a loner, the result of a one-night-stand that would stick with her mother's reputation for the rest of her life. Peachpaw was furious by the mentor she had been given, believing that there was no way in StarClan that she would ever become a proper warrior with a mentor like that. Her grandparents clearly felt the same way, and she slowly began to notice that they no longer doted upon her, but glared at her from a distance. She felt furious with Hawkstar and was resentful and disrespectful towards Maplefire, insolent at every opportunity. IDEAS I assume when you first make her, she would be extremely hostile towards Lightningflash due to her upbringing. I'd love for her to have a moment where her grandparents are being awful to her and Lightningflash sticks up for her. Perhaps that triggers a spiral where she slowly begins to realise that her grandparents might be wrong? From then on, I'd love to see them go on patrols together, slowly building up a friendship. |

This resentment grew and grew until tension began to form between Riverkit and Turtlekit specifically. Eventually, this resentment resulted in her intentionally tormenting Riverkit and trying to upset him. And he was so easy to upset, the baby would blubber and cry about everything.
