Fate is currently on a hiatus for Christmas to give all of our members time to be with their loved ones and recharge. Merry Christmas everyone! We will resume normal roleplay shortly.
Another quick update for everyone! We have a new calendar plugin designed by Kat - you can now click the calendar module located in the "News" tab of the Welcome table (just to the right of this textbox!) and be able to view the IC date information. Clicking on other days of the IRL calendar and clicking the arrows to see the other months of the season will allow you to see the IC days for the rest of the season too. All IC season information will now be available on the first day of each season and, as always, you will be able to view previous calendar information in the Past Calendars thread. If you happen to encounter any bugs when viewing the calendar, please let Kat know!
Hello Fate! Two quick updates for you all. Firstly, we have a new training tracker designed by Katara. We have also just launched the new site shop layout that was also designed by Kat and Fab. You'll notice that some of the items have been removed following the discussions we've had about the shop and the helpful feedback given by you guys. Thank you to everyone who contributed to that discussion. That said... there are also some new additions to the shop that we hope you guys will have fun with. Enjoy!
From now on, all GaleClan and Tribe cats created will reward their creator with a bonus of 75 prey! GorgeClan and MistClan will have a ban placed on them until it is determined that the populations are more evenly distributed. The only exceptions to this rule are characters who are part of litters that have already been created, so they can age naturally with their siblings.
We are excited to announce that Gemini's Koisplash will be the next deputy of MistClan! It was a very difficult choice with all applicants being so uniquely
suited for the role, and we thank all who auditioned!! An IC deputy announcement will happen in Greenleaf to give Silverstar/Silverfrost time to transition
out of the deputy role after giving up his remaining lives.
We have an important announcement to make regarding recent changes to the site's shop. We have come to the agreement as a community that LGBTQ+ characters should no longer need to be purchased in the shop prior to their creation. From now on, the site's bio template will have a space for you to list your character's sexuality and gender identity/pronouns. We feel the original reasons for making these identities purchasable are no longer valid, and we look forward to seeing the diversity of characters and creative freedom this new decision will generate. Anyone who has purchased the item in the past is free to request a refund here!
GorgeClan deputy auditions are now open! You can apply your character for the position here.
With some excellent participation on behalf of Fate members, all three camps have been successfully winterized for Leafbare #9! They will not face penalties during the Greencough rolls! For GaleClan in particular, they were a few points shy of hitting the target, but Owlstar agreed to sacrifice a life for her Clan to make up for those missing points. The resulting rolls for the Greencough event can be found here! Because GorgeClan and GaleClan each rolled a few nat 20s, there is an opportunity for anyone to request a re-roll for an NPC if they wish!
We are pleased to announce that after a very, very tough decision, Whitehawk will be the first leader of GorgeClan!
Congratulations to Abyss, and our sincerest Thank You to everyone who auditioned - the decision was so tough because the applications were all so fantastic.
The IC transition of power will happen soon. In the meantime, look forward to deputy auditions going up for MistClan, GaleClan, and GorgeClan before the end of the year!
The Tribe's new high rank has been announced: Congratulations to Minted's Snake for Lead Cave-Guard!
IC role transition will occur shortly.
GorgeClan leader auditions are now open and will close on December 1st. If you are interested in applying, head on over to the auditions thread.
The season of Greenleaf is being extended in order to allow time for us to finish the exploration threads and have the Clans merge. Stay tuned!
Tribe high rank positions have opened - if you are interested in the role of Lead Cave-Guard or Lead Prey-Hunter, please apply here! Auditions will close on October 15, so be sure to get your audition in!
The Clans are now beginning to discover their new territories! If there are spots open, you are welcome to sign up for any of the exploration threads, otherwise you can follow what's happening as new areas of each territory are revealed within the Gorge, the Moors, and the Marshes. Keep on the lookout for Tribe high rank auditions as well as Clan high rank auditions - these will be coming soon!
The Tribe’s home is within a large cave, many pawsteps wide and deep, and it is full of corners and formations they have taken advantage of for shelter. The path leading up to the cave is narrow, barely able to allow two cats to walk side-by-side, opening up right into the cave; the path makes it difficult for any creature to approach unseen. A spring-fed pool lies not far from the entrance, a close and reliable source of water
A precarious trail just wide enough for two cats to walk side-by-side, this walkway has been created through the seasons by hooves and paws alike. With a rocky incline on one side and a steep drop on the other, it winds around the edge of a mountain toward the promise of safer slopes. Though a fall down the fairly short drop would likely not be fatal, a collision with any of the rocks along the way could result in serious injury. Cold weather, rain, and high winds make this trail particularly treacherous, and even on fair days, it is advised that only the most experienced cats make the trip. The cliff path leads to a rocky landing that has excellent hunting areas and a good source of mountain prey.
A long slope that descends into the valley. Covered in both loose scree and half-buried rock, it is easier to climb than it looks, with plenty of places for claws to latch onto. Mice and other small vermin live within the crevices or tiny burrows in the mountainside. A popular place for hunting small prey and their larger, airborne predators. A few clumps of hardy plants can be found here to feed the occasional hare. Watch out for rock slides.
Through a narrow tunnel in the mountains, Tribe cats have access to an abundant meadow rich in prey and herbs. The passage through is unstable, and cats must go single-file to reach the other side. For safety reasons, a guard is posted at the entrance to ensure the passage isn't used by mountain-dwelling predators.
Named for the way it twists and curves like a snake, this river is fed from glaciers in the mountains above. Prey come for their water, fish and frogs spawn here, and it creates a beautiful location for the Tribe to visit. Herbs grow in abundance here, which the cave-guards collect for the Healer's stores. It is also a great place to cool off your paws after a hot day of patrols!
A tiny, crystal-clear stream that bubbles down from the highest mountain peaks and winds aimlessly throughout the Tribe of Forgotten Waters' territory. It is far too shallow for fish, but can make a relaxing place to cool down or get a drink in the height of the warm season.
The highest point surrounding the valley, this is a massive ledge that hangs over the valley of the Clans. It is wide and sturdy enough for daring cats to stand atop and look out over the valley. It has a constant mist that surrounds it due to high altitude and low clouds. On clear days, the ledge can easily be seen in the distance from any Clan; however, nastier weather keeps it hidden.
