Day 5: A strong wind travels through the land, causing the foliage to be in constant motion and the multi-colored leaves to fall.
not a yes, sir. not a follower.
The wind was a cool sighing breath rolling across the scrubland territory of StoneClan. With each soft, patient gust came the bite of cold, Leaf-fall threatening to overthrow Greenleaf as the valley settled smoothly into the cold season. The air tasted crisp with decay, the very beginning of rotting leaves creating an aroma even in the treeless uplands, the winds carrying it up from TreeClan territory. It was hauntingly quiet among the rigid sentinels that guarded the landscape, boulders who cast looming shadows across the rocky outcrops. The rattle of pebbles disturbed by paws broke the vigilant silence. Lightningflash perked his ears as the sound of a surprised yelp caught his attention. He turned his head and a hearty laugh burst from his lungs as he realised that Yewpaw had accidentally stumbled into a hole. The hole itself was so overgrown with weeds that she hadn't even seen it. It was so hilariously uncharacteristic for the careful, intelligent molly to be caught out by something, he couldn't help but be incredibly amused by the irony of it.
"Not funny." She rumbled in protest as he bent down to sink his teeth into her scruff. But there was a dazed, amused smile playing on the little tortoiseshell's lips. "It is though." Lightningflash smirked around a mouthful of fur. "You're really starting to take after Tumble." Speaking of which... Lightningflash turned a warm gaze to glance back at his brother and his nearly identical son, a lopsided grin playing on his features. Bonepaw was distinguishable from his father and uncle only by his tiny, stubby tail. "Keep up, you two!" He joked, waving his tail. "It's a hunting trip, not a race." Yewpaw piped up. Lightningflash flicked his niece fondly with his tail. "Slow paws don't catch prey, y'know." He pointed out. "Besides, there's no harm in having a little fun. Me and your father used to race eachother all the time." He purred, then winked mischievously. "I always won, of course."
