This isn't an official staff challenge or anything like that, simply a quick writing prompts challenge I wrote myself that anyone is allowed to try and take part in for some Leaf-fall themed fun! And, of course, for some inspiration for anyone who is a little low on muse, like me most of the time. Some of these might function better as a PRP, open thread or a private thread, but feel free to do whatever you like with them. It's totally okay to modify the situation of the prompt, especially if anyone else has decided to use the same one. And it's also okay to modify the prompt to suit a loner character if you want. Feel free to steal my idea and make your own prompts masterpost, too!

t.w Some of the prompts below include a death and/or peril. Any prompt that includes violence or injury will be marked with a ★, while any prompts that involve death will have ★. Just a little note, since I tried to include remembrance and spooky-themed prompts.

GENERAL LEAF-FALL PROMPTS
★ You come across an area of the territory that is so full of leaves, you can dive underneath them! Do you try to hunt the mice you sense beneath the leaves, or give in to kitlike glee and spend some time having fun?
★ The day has been extremely rainy, but you must head out on a patrol anyway. How do you adapt to the unpleasant weather conditions?
★ You feel a little under the weather. Do you visit the medicine cat to get treated, or do you power through in the hopes it's just a common cold?
★★ You're alone on Clan territory and come across a plant that hasn't decayed yet. It smells very strong, as if it might be a herb you can take back to the medicine cat, but you're not sure what it is. What do you do?
★★ There is a tree with a rotten branch on or near your territory. You're investigating to see if it is a threat or not. Does the branch fall, injuring someone? Does an enemy patrol question how close you are to the edge of the territory? Do you try to figure out a way to break the branch off with your patrol? Up to you!

SPOOKY PROMPTS
★ Tell a kit or apprentice a horror story.
★ Have a vivid nightmare.
★ Play a prank that results in someone getting scared out of their fur.
★★ There's an unfamiliar scent on the breeze, and you think you saw a shape moving in the corner of your eye. You feel watched, exposed and alone.
★★ You find evidence of something strange, but you can't make sense of what exactly you have found. There are signs of a struggle, a few random drops of blood, and strangest of all, what looks like a feline tooth, but no sign that any cat was killed here. What happened?
★★★ Defend another cat from a vicious predator, receiving an injury in the process. How did you both find yourselves in this situation? Is the other cat someone you care about, or someone you hate? How did you both manage to escape a grizzly fate?

REMEMBERANCE PROMPTS
★ Tell a story about a lost loved one to someone else, or recall it yourself.
★ Dream about time spent with someone you cared about who is gone.
★ Visit the grave of a cat you cared about. Do you bring flowers, or some other gift they would have liked in life? Do you talk to them? Are you alone at their graveside?
★★ Roleplay as one of your deceased characters in the afterlife. Are they happy with where they ended up, be it in StarClan, lost among the mists, or in the Dark Forest? Do they wish they were reincarnated, or are they enjoying their life in death?
★★ Transport yourself to an alternate universe where when your loved ones were in peril, they survived rather than moving on to StarClan. How did you do things differently? Did another cat die in their place? Would this have entirely changed life as they know it today?
★★★ You are by the side of a cat who is dying, be it an NPC or a player character. There is nothing that can be done to save them, and they are frightened. Do you comfort them in their final moments? What do you say? Are they a loner, beyond the knowledge of StarClan? Do you stay with them, or abandon them to their fate?

THANKFUL PROMPTS
★ Spend time with someone you care about, and let them know how much they mean to you.
★ Do something kind and selfless for another, even if that cat is from beyond your Clan.
★ If you are a parent, spend time with your kits, even if they are grown.
★★ An incredibly bountiful hunt results in excess food in the fresh-kill pile. Enjoy a lovely feast with your clanmates, and savour having a full belly before the harsher season rolls in!
★★ You make some form of sacrifice, whether minor or major, for another cat to make them happy or comfortable. What did you do? Was it difficult for you? Was the other cat grateful for what you did, and how has this action impacted on your relationship?
★★★ You discover a loner or a small family of loners on the edge of starvation. They look like they are really struggling, and don't put up much of a fight if they are attacked or threatened with violence. They are desperate for food and beg pitifully for help. One of them looks like they might be sick. What do you do?
