With all the other medicine cats having chosen apprentices Falconstorm has finally decided its time for him to choose an apprentice for himself. All applicants are asked to answer his questions and the small section for myself. Please understand that the choice will be from Falconstorm, not from me and that it isn't anything against you if you aren't chosen.
This thread will stay open until Falconstorm sees someone he feels fits what he wants in an apprentice.
--------------------- Falconstorm
So you want to become my apprentice? Alright then. If you would answer my questions we'll see if you're what I'm looking for.
1) You find an injured cat that's not from our clan. What do you do?
2) Our closest neighbor has been hit by an epidemic or other disaster and have requested assistance in the form of any extra herbs we have, but its the height of leafbare and herbs are scarce. What do you do?
3) Sometimes a medicine cat's duties aren't just about healing the sick and tending the injured. Sometimes, we must step up to those in leadership. Do you see yourself being able to do that? [this is under the assumption that there's something wrong, someone is feverish or simply not in their right mind and we must step in.]
4) Are you comfortable taking command of a sick or injured cat that refuses to listen to common sense? This may require you to sit on them.
5) Do you get sick at the sight of blood? [If you do please don't apply]
6) Why do you feel you'd be a good medicine cat?

Cat's Name : Robinpaw. Played By : Fabrication. Age : 10 moons. Any other High Ranks? : Nope. Notes: We haven't had a thread with Falcon and Robin, so if you have any ideas for one, that'd be great. c:
All questions beyond this point are answered in character!
You find an injured cat that's not from our Clan. What do you do? I would... introduce myself, first, especially if they weren't a Clan cat. I would offer to help them, and explain that I'm able to. If they refuse help, even if I insist, I'll fetch Lionstar or Pumafang and tell them about the injured cat. They can decide whether to send a patrol or not. If... If the cat wasn't able to tell me they wanted help, I'd help them to the best of my ability. I think not helping another cat, regardless of Clan, would weigh too heavy on my conscience.
Our closest neighbour has been hit by an epidemic or other disaster and have requested assistance in the form of any extra herbs we have, but its the height of leafbare and herbs are scarce. What do you do? I-If I had... If I had herbs to spare I would give them, no problem. And if we weren't facing a similar issue or had immediate need for the herbs, I would probably give them as much as I could without compromising our own cats. But if we had none we could give... Then of course I couldn't, no matter how much I would want to. I would also take extra time to focus on attempting to find or preserve any of the needed herbs I could, just in case.
Are you comfortable taking command of a sick or injured cat that refuses to listen to common sense? This may require you to sit on them. Robinpaw laughs at this. I'm not the biggest cat in the forest, so sitting on them might not be my best strategy. But, yeah... I've had to deal a lot with cats that won't listen to sense, so I think I can say with confidence that I can deal with stubborn mousebrains, even if I'm too small to sit on them.
Do you get sick at the sight of blood? Definitely not. I'm only bothered by vomit, but even that's pretty minor. You won't see me fainting or vomiting over it or anything. If I did, I definitely wouldn't ever set paw in the medicine den!
Why do you feel you'd be a good medicine cat? Out of all the questions, Robinpaw hesitates the longest on this one in particular. I think... I think I'll be a good medicine cat because... I'm not afraid to work hard. I am a quick learner, and I can keep calm in situations when I know what to do. I have good instincts and I listen. I listen because I want to learn, and I want to learn because... because I don't want to ever feel that helpless when someone needs me again. I don't want to stand there, not knowing what to do, hoping StarClan will do something. I want to do something, to know what to do, and to know that I've done everything I could possibly do in the situation. If I knew that... And even better, if I actually made a difference... I think that would be a much better way to serve my Clan. I think I would definitely make a better medicine cat than I would a warrior. If you don't want me to be your apprentice, I understand. I just... I just want you to at least consider it. To give me that chance. I've been considering asking you this for a long time now, and if you would even entertain the thought of it, it would mean the world to me.

Cat's Name : Sagepaw Played By : Karazhal Age [in moons] : 6 moons Any other High Ranks?: none confirmed Anything else you want to add?: I can start a thread for Falcon next time i'm free! Now that Sagepaw is no longer a kit, I've updated my audition but kept her immature responses in a spoiler. It took a lot of following around, but she finally caught sight of a lull in Falconstorm's day and she pounced on it. The young she-cat was ready to begin her life outside of the nursery forever. Of course, she'd asked her father what his apprenticeship had been like. Being a warrior like her father and uncles seemed the natural course, but she couldn't help but wonder why one cat in particular didn't take an apprentice. She was determined to find out the qualifications. "So you want to become my apprentice? Alright then. If you would answer my questions we'll see if you're what I'm looking for.""You find an injured cat that's not from our clan. What do you do?"She took a moment to think about the circumstances that would bring an injured cat into the territory, and for a moment she pitied the hypothetical creature. She couldn't imagine going into NightClan territory willingly. "I would put their mind at ease first. They're probably going to be scared so I'll try to calm them down while I see where they're hurt. If I can help them, I'll help, but right now, I don't know anything. I'd feel bad for leaving them alone though." She paused and then nodded with a more confident air. "Oh, I know!"--This would be a good answer, she thought, for it'd been the fastest way to summon her mother to her side-- "I'd meow loud and long until a patrol heard me. Our older clanmates would find you faster than I could." ----------------- "Our closest neighbor has been hit by an epidemic or other disaster and have requested assistance in the form of any extra herbs we have, but its the height of leafbare and herbs are scarce. What do you do?"She turned her chin aside to gaze upon Falconstorm's store of herbs as she tried to imagine the situation he was describing. "I could do nothing more than tell them the truth--that ours are scarce. If they accuse me of holding back, I would tell them to ask StarClan for help, for the ancestors alone could guide their paws." If the medicine cat made a face at her reference to the starry-pelted cats, she hadn't seen, for her eyes were still upon the herbs. "It would be a good idea to start seeking out more of what we can find. I would hate to be scarce if some disaster would affect us in turn."----------------- "Sometimes a medicine cat's duties aren't just about healing the sick and tending the injured. Sometimes, we must step up to those in leadership. Do you see yourself being able to do that?" [this is under the assumption that there's something wrong, someone is feverish or simply not in their right mind and we must step in.]Her fluffy chest puffed out, and she lifted up her chin imperiously, her large ears pivoting backward. "I would hope so. My mother didn't raise a fool. No cat can resist these kitten eyes for long, right?" The blue Somali turned her wide golden eyes onto Falconstorm, but her face was no longer the small, downy-pelted face of a kit. Those rose-tinted starry eyes belonged to a young apprentice still thinking of her uncle Lionstar as leader, forever and always, the leader she'd always known--not of the dark-eyed pitch-furred deputy that shadowed him. In truth, she did not know Lionstar and Pumafang as Falconstorm did. To her, Lionstar was her family, so she naively believed it'd be easy to stand up to him and win him over. ----------------- "Are you comfortable taking command of a sick or injured cat that refuses to listen to common sense? This may require you to sit on them."Laughter burst out of the young molly, and she lifted a paw to her face to contain it. Sit on them?! She knew Falconstorm was being serious. "Y-yes, I can sit on them." Quickly, she snorted a breath from her nostrils and regained composure. "I'd ask a warrior to babysit. I wouldn't have time to keep them under my paw all the time and risk them escaping the moment I go out to make dirt."----------------- "Do you get sick at the sight of blood?""No." Not sick, just... sad. She remembered seeing blood on everyone's faces and paws, and smelling the metallic stench after The Worst Night Ever. She simply shook her head. ----------------- "Why do you feel you'd be a good medicine cat?"All that excitement to get in here, and now that Falconstorm had given her the floor, her brain suddenly went blank. She didn't know what would be a good answer, or rather, what would be the answer Falconstorm was looking for. Talk about herself when she had no experience? All that chattering, and now she was stumped! She glanced out a hole in the bark and glimpsed her father striding with Gorsetail and some other warriors. "My father says that everyone in TreeClan has a duty," she said with a soft sigh. Turning to the medicine cat, she continued, "It seems you do the most out of all of us. I don't have any experience, but I know how to support others while pulling my own weight. I know how to be patient. I know how to listen. I will memorize those herbs to the best of my ability, I'll stand up to anyone who tries to lie to us, I'll sit on anyone you want me to and most of all--" She rose to her feet, her tail sweeping like a graceful bough filled with leaves. "I want to keep our Clan strong." Her heart warmed. Suddenly, she felt anchored again, and she looked Falconstorm in the eye. "I want to be your apprentice because I haven't learned enough about you to be your friend. Wouldn't you like to change that?" she asked with a bold smile. "You asked me if I was willing to step up to those in leadership? Well, here I am."
Sagepaw took a fateful step forward. 1) You find an injured cat that's not from our clan. What do you do?The small fluffy kitten cranes her head up at Falconstorm. She inhales sharply at the word "injured" and she shifts from side to side. "I would fetch you," Sagekit chirps brightly. "You help everyone in our Clan, so you'd be the best one to call for. I'm faster than my sister too. The other kitty would be in good paws while I got you. I trust Acornkit a lot!" 2) Our closest neighbor has been hit by an epidemic or other disaster and have requested assistance in the form of any extra herbs we have, but its the height of leafbare and herbs are scarce. What do you do?She visibly stumbles over the word epidemic but it clears up as Falconstorm offers the word "disaster" instead. Sagekit's little chin tucks to show she understood the context. "Well, we could try asking StarClan?" she suggests, perhaps childishly so. "If herbs are scarce in TreeClan, our paws could be guided to a place protected by leafbare. Feathercloud told me a story about how that really happened a long long time ago, and the two Clans sent some warriors and they came back with herbs to save the day." Sagekit beamed at the thought. 3) Sometimes a medicine cat's duties aren't just about healing the sick and tending the injured. Sometimes, we must step up to those in leadership. Do you see yourself being able to do that? [this is under the assumption that there's something wrong, someone is feverish or simply not in their right mind and we must step in.]Sagekit has a surprisingly serious expression at Falconstorm's question. "Yes." She gives a spunky jerk of her chin. "This one time, Acornkit took my bite of squirrel and she ate it before I could. I got really upset and I said 'Hey, that wasn't very nice!'. I gave her a swat on the nose. We made up though. She's my best friend... even if she did eat my piece." 4) Are you comfortable taking command of a sick or injured cat that refuses to listen to common sense? This may require you to sit on them.As Falconstorm asks this, she seems to think he's asking her if she'd be ready to do it right now. She straightens with a regal, stiff posture. "Sitting on them doesn't seem quite proper. I'll leave that to my sister, and I'll block the door." Her stumpy tail is all puffed out, and there's quite the amusing image of a small kit attempting to look big enough to block a den entryway. 5) Do you get sick at the sight of blood? [If you do please don't apply]Sagekit slowly shakes her head twice. 6) Why do you feel you'd be a good medicine cat?At the end of all this, her head tilts slowly in realization that this had been some sort of test. She thought he was just getting her back for all the times she pestered him with questions. Sagekit is quiet for a long time. She collects her paws together. "I'm a good helper," she pleads. "I... just want to help, even if it's for a little bit. I watch you all the time through the bark hole. You always wash your paws, get that herb first, then walk over and bite into that spot right there before going around all the nests." Sagekit used her chin to indicate directions. --------------- Justice
Cat's Name : Sagekit, to be Sagepaw at newleaf season change. link to app Played By : Karazhal Age [in moons] : 3 moons Any other High Ranks?: No
Anything else you want to add?: Sagekit is the youngest of all applicants here so her answers are rather immature and ignorant of the real world compared to the actual apprentices above. If she's disqualified, I will completely understand. However, if you don't mind, I would love a thread with Falcon and Sage where she's spying on him lol
