Hello everyone! It is time for Fate’s first ever Apprentice Games! What this will entail is a hunting competition for apprentices 6-9 moons old and a battle competition for apprentices 10-13 moons old, as well as a general ‘gathering-like’ thread for non-apprentice participation. Below you will find an explanation of how the hunting and battle competitions are going to work, as well as a sign-up form if you would like to enter any of your apprentices. You may enter all or none, but apprentices not entered will be assumed to be participating, they simply won’t have any chance of winning.
So here is the sequence of events. The Clans will gather at StarClan’s Claws the day after the new moon for a daylight gathering. There will be no list of who is attending like for normal gatherings, because the apprentice games are a special sort of gathering and I want anyone who wants to participate to be able to do so. It will be assumed that a number of NPC characters remained in camp to guard it. There will be a little time for mingling before the leaders will announce the start of the hunting competition and send the younger apprentices off into their own territories to begin hunting.
The hunting competition will be run by Fawn and it will work very similarly to how her Lionstar’s Challenge Hunting Competition worked, sans teams.
FAWN:
Fawn will start the thread in which everyone will post their apprentices hunting (regardless of what territory they are hunting in). Every apprentice will post three times, either catching or missing a catch (Hit or Miss) and after every apprentice has their 3 posts in, Fawn will post the results. There will not be a post order, but there will be three ‘rounds’. Fawn will post at the end of every round, after all signed up apprentices have made their post for the round, saying that everyone is free to post again. You may not post another hunting post for your apprentices until after Fawn has made the announcement of a new round. Because Fawn has apprentices participating in this event as well, I have made her a special list of colors, separate from everyone else’s so no worries that she’s cheating xD. In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by whoever has the higher word count within the competition thread specifically with the apprentice who is eligible to win.
After the Hunting Competition has come to an end and Fawn has posted the winner, everyone may post their apprentices returning to StarClan’s Claws with their prey and depositing it below the Great Rock, if they wish. The younger apprentices can then mingle and watch the rest of the battle competition and whatever else. The winner of the competition will be announced IC after the Battle Competition is over.
Fawn’s Colors (FAWN ONLY)
Gold
Silver
Copper
Bronze
Jade
Sapphire
Ruby
Amethyst
Each battle will take place in its own thread. After everyone has signed up I will match all the apprentices up along with who will be starting the thread. Who starts will be picked by flipping a coin. The thread should be titled Apprentice Name VS Apprentice Name to keep things simple. The thread starter will open and is expected to attack first. From there on each post should include a reaction/defense to the attack in the previous post as well as a new attack. Attacks must be open and clearly explained. You cannot say your attack landed, it is up to your opponent whether they got hit or not. No generic "rushed at his foe", but something like "ran at his foe, hoping to trip him and place him on the ground." Each RPer must allow one attack to land completely. The other two attacks can be interpreted however you want. However remember to be realistic. If there’s no way an attack can be avoided, regardless if your one hit has been taken or not, you should probably let it hit.

Each apprentice will post three times (for a total of six posts in the thread) before the battle will be paused for judging. You will be judged on how fun your posts are to read, how creative they are, and how realistic they are (remember what I said about avoiding what would appear to be an unavoidable attack?). Each category will be judged on a 1 – 5 scale, 1 being the worst and 5 being the best, and each of the three posts will be judged separately. This will give you a possible total of 45 points at the end of the battle. Whoever gets the most total points will win the battle, no matter how the battle appears to be going up until that point (which really is realistic as the tide of battle can change at a moment’s notice!). I will then post in the battle, announcing the winner, and the participants can continue the fight for as long as they want, knowing who they winner will be, or the winner can simply post after ending it if neither want to continue. In the event of a tie, word count during the battle will be used to decide the winner and the participant with the higher word count will win.
Once the winners of all the first battles have been decided a new round will start, pitting the winners up against each other in the same manner as before until there is only one winner standing.
Once the battle competition is over, the winner of the Hunting Competition will be announced by their leader in the general thread where all the non apprentice participants have been posting and the apprentice will be asked to choose whatever piece of prey from all the prey caught that day that they’d like, before anyone else ever gets to touch it. It is considered a great honor to be able to pick prey first, before leaders or anyone else! Then the Battle Competition winner will be announced by their leader and they will be asked to step forward and be named a warrior right then and there in front of all the Clans (regardless of training threads they may or may not have completed previously). Please note that if you do not WANT your apprentice to be named a warrior just yet for whatever reason then please let me know before the competition starts and we will simply keep your apprentice from winning the last round.
Let me just reiterate quickly that YOUR WORD COUNT ONLY MATTERS IN THE CASE OF TIES, so please don’t be scared that you have to no chance of winning just because you can’t make big posts. Long posts are not synonymous with creative, interesting posts. Though of course the more words you put down, the more words you have to make things interesting, so it certainly doesn’t HURT xD
Now then, if you have apprentices you want to participate, just fill out the form below for each apprentice:

Hunting Competition
The medicine cats will be in charge of tracking the apprentices from their own Clans and making sure they aren’t cheating or trying to sabotage other apprentices. If you are playing an apprentice you can FEEL FREE to have them find a stash of some other apprentice's prey and try to either steal from it or whatever, but they WILL get caught by the medicine cat and immediately disqualified and sent back to camp. The hunting competition will be run by Fawn and it will work very similarly to how her Lionstar’s Challenge Hunting Competition worked, sans teams.
FAWN:
So this doesn't end up too easy or too boring, I will be deciding who catches how much through a nifty little Color-System I've come up with. As far as posting goes, you can pretty much have your apprentice interact with the other apprentices, and don't get me wrong, they can catch (or mess up) their own prey, I'll just be deciding the total number each cat caught at the end of the day.
Everyone gets three chances to Hit-Or-Miss, but at the end of your post, pick 1 of 8 Colors, and state whether your character has hit or missed: (You must do this once for each of your three chances.)
Whether they hit or miss is completely up to you, if you want your apprentice to get all hits and no misses, that's perfectly fine, HOWEVER, if your character ends up hitting all three chances, but you picked one of the "Misfortune Colors", then by a sheer stroke of bad luck, the three pieces of prey they caught will be 'disposed of' by fate, i.e., a fox dug up their buried prey and ran off with it, or a loner stole it, or they forgot where they put it, et cetera.
If you did not pick one of the Misfortune Colors, however, what your character caught during the 3 Chances Hit-or-Miss posts will be added onto what they get from their color selections.
For Example:
Frogpaw crouched in a thicket of brambles, and while they snagged away at his short gray pelt, there wasn't anyone or anything that could break his concentration at that moment. With a grackle pecking innocently at a seed at the base of the great maple, Frogpaw's haunches wriggled, green eyes dead-locked on his target. You're mine! Leaping out of the brambles like salmon leaping up river, Frogpaw landed on the grackle and killed it before it could utter a single squawk of protest. Tail held up triumphantly, Frogpaw quickly buried the kill, curious about how the other apprentices were doing.
OOC: First Color: Turquoise. First Chance: Hit.
Following me so far?
Let's say the rest of Frogpaw's hunting time went like this:
Second Chance: Miss
Second Color: Maroon
Third Chance: Hit
Third Color: Lavender
So in total, based on the color system (results will be posted at the end of the day, and the system will have different colors than the ones posted above), Turquoise = 1 piece of prey, Maroon = 3 pieces of prey, Lavender = 7 pieces of prey.
Frogpaw was particularly lucky, he gets to end his day with a sub-total of: 11 pieces of prey from the Color-System, plus 2 pieces of prey from his Hit-or-Miss Chances.
Total: 13 Pieces of Prey.
Had his Roleplayer chosen Chartreuse in one of his posts, then poor Frogpaw would've been struck with a -5, which would've been subtracted from his total score. Beware the Misfortune Colors~ They really like to mess things up!
THE COLORS
Lemon
Kiwi
Pomegranate
Blueberry
Grape
Orange
Cherry
Lime
Hint: 3 out of 8 are NOT your friends, and 1 out of 8 is neutral.
Also, don't be afraid to pick three of the same colors, you can be all Lime if you want, but I'd personally play it a little safer and pick three different colors, just in case you end up picking three Misfortune Colors in a row!

Battle Competition
After the leaders send the younger apprentices off to hunt, they will announce the start of the Battle Competition which will take place right there at StarClan’s Claws. Claws are to remain sheathed during the battle competition and use of them will result in disqualification and being sent back to camp. Each battle will take place in its own thread. Stonepaw lunged for Treepaw, aiming to hit his head with a sheathed paw. He hoped the attack would knock him to the ground.
---
Treepaw was caught off guard by Rockpaw's sudden movement, watching a paw fly towards his head with the intent of knocking him down. He dodged at the last second, but his movements were not quick enough, and the other apprentice's paw glanced off of his cheek. The extra momentum killed Treepaw's next plan of attack, so he rolled to the ground and came up again on four legs, running at Rockpaw. His plan was to rake the side of the other apprentice, then circle around to attack his face.
