Ebonyheart,
Livin' in ruins of a palace within my dreams
Gorgeclan's tempermental healer had not been pleased with the events that had occurred.
While the large healer trusted her new leader and his decisions, that did not mean she couldn't be irritated when certain plans could lead to certain problems; such as a group of Gorgeclanners attacking a massive nest of adders. Their scaled bodies, quick to sway and strike with those curved fangs - the black she-cat didn't believe that every one of her warriors would come back uninjured. It just wasn't in nature for neither side to be free of wounds or bites... or potential death. She had voiced her opinions to Whitestar, but ultimately Sageheart had offered to follow the warriors to the nest, albite staying far away from the dangers of the snakes below.
The blue hued she-cat was mainly there for immediate support should any cat fall within the battle.
This did not stop Ebonyheart from gathering additional herbs and medical items that may be needed and settle herself like a stone within the middle of Gorgeclan's camp, those mossy green orbs of hers yet to leave the entrance as she waited for her clanmates to return. There would be relief that flowed through her veins if all who went survived, but that wouldn't stop her sharp tongue from scathing remarks when it came to their wounds and injuries.
Honestly, if there was a reason clans needed healers, it would be in times like this were the claws came out to deal with disturbances and issues that were detrimental to the clan.
The ears atop her head flickered, consistently shifting towards the nursery nearby where the squeals of kits were fairly present. Six healthy youngsters, who had survived a rather harsh Leafbare could be heard chattering and playing under the supervision of who Ebonyheart assumed was Icefang; considering Foxfire had a hard time staying put within the soft, milk-scented den. Within the next few moons, they would all earn their apprentice names and soon enough be out within the dangers of the territory like the same warriors the former queen waited for.
Did it make her heart squeeze? Thinking about Puffinkit, Cardinalkit and Jaykit putting their lives on the line their like noble father, Birdstar had done back during the earthquake, absolutely. Yet, as their secret birth giver Ebonyheart could only look from afar and press her feelings deep within the pits of her heart and stomach so that it didn't interfere with her specific duties to Gorgeclan... to Starclan as they looked down and scorned her for the actions that took place.
"Ebonyheart!"
Her name pulled the black coated molly from her ever intrusive thoughts, returning to the present as Sageheart's form quickly melded from the shadows and growing shrubbery. The younger she-cat looked somewhat shaken, but she didn't have any marks or blood present on her coat - her scent was mixed with herbs, fear and the stink of snakes. "Everyone made it out alive, but some are more wounded than others - Otterbite looks like he took a couple fangs to the body." Her tone was soft and gentle, with the smallest amount of a tremble within her throat, Ebonyheart was sure the gorge had looked like an all out war during the battle that had taken place.
"I would assume Otterbite was showing off?" The tone that reverberated from the black molly's chest was somewhat condensing but more so like a sigh of obviousness, the blue Siamese tom was often known for getting distracted when it came to the fairer of the sexes. The faintest of smiles upon Sageheart's face as well as a small nod was enough of an answer to the question asked before the youngster continued with her assessment.
"Whitestar and the others are only a few pawsteps behind me, but I see you are prepared to deal with the worse of the injuries - I can take care of the minor scratches." While Sageheart hadn't actually seen any cat from the clan fall in battle, she wanted Ebonyheart to specifically check in on their leader; to make sure that none of his wounds were fatal or that he hadn't potentially lost one of his coveted nine lives. Slowly, but surely, Sageheart's paws and heart were leaving that of the clan life, it was important that they continued to heavily lean on her elder and mentor rather than her.
"Very well, I have everything that is needed." Ebonyheart finally shifted her larger form, standing to her wide paws as she shook out her lengthy coat. The nub of her tail flickered behind her for a second as her gaze waited for that of her clanmates to flood into Gorgeclan's open campsite.
