Outside of the cave, Snake sat with his tail tangles up around his paws. Then he slowly looked to the entrance as a couple of cats exited onto the stone in front of him.
He watched them leave, scanning their faces, before jumping after them.
"Mind if I tag along?" he asked softly, his voice even. He could do with the fresh air, yes, but he also wanted to check on something in the direction they were going. Just a regular hunting trip, but at the same time, he assumed it might also lead to somewhere slightly more interesting.
Add to that ...
He looked around at a couple of cats.
It might be productive to see how they handled themselves. There were new faces in the Tribe that had just started training. And also new cats in general. It wasn't a bad idea to look after them, see if their training was going well. Pitch in a bit himself.
"I'll stay back here," he murmured, taking the last point in the group, eyes already scanning the skies. Less common for him to be out here, he didn't want to get rusty. Luckily, thus far, there was no sign of any feathered 'friends.' Yet. That was what was interesting Snake. It was possible that once they got closer to the Jagged Slope, that would change. There should be larger birds nearby, but also tons of scurrying prey. So long as they didn't become them. The only thing Snake was worried about was the fact there had been reported to be a good nesting season not so long ago. The birds would be grown by now, maybe even returning for an early nest. The skies would be even more dangerous right now. Both a good time to see if the Cave Guards were up to the task and to make sure none of the hunters were pulled to their Ancestors.
