"Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you doesn't mean you can, should, or need to do it alone."~Wisteriakit
The cold made her nose grow numb the longer she sat there. The wind that blew through camp blew straight through her despite her fluffy white fur covering her body and she couldn't help the trembling of her limbs from it's icy breath. Ears perked listening carefully around gave her a faint idea of what was going on around camp. Her mother Daisylight was sitting not too far away to her left gossiping and talking in cheery tone to another queen but even if she had eyes to see she didn't need to see her mother's face to know that she was tired. Her mother stressed far too much for her being a young mother of three kits. The sound of scrambling ahead and high pitched voices gave her the idea of what the other kits of the clan were doing. Wisteriakit was the only one not playing. Not because she did not want to; she did very much so. But, her disability did not allow her to play as freely as the other kits. She was born blind and she was still getting used to being able to do certain things without guidance. She knew Daisylight wished for her youngest to make friends and be able to be normal; well as normal as a blind 4 moon old kit to be. But deep down without having to say anything Wisteriakit knew her mother was slowly losing hope for her to have any sort of normalcy.
Sighing the small white kit tucked her paws under her chest and made herself a small snowball by the entrance of the Nursery. Bright blue eyes staring blankly around her without sight. She felt the wetness on her nose that she thought was dang near frozen over and wondered if it was raining perhaps? No, she knew what rain sounded and smelt like; this wasn't it. Tentatively she reached out a paw out and felt a few more wet and frozen speckles land on her pads and she tilted her head down to sightless stare in wonder at her paw. What was this? "The air is so cold it's freezing the sky's tears." she murmured to herself in confusion and wonder.
The longer she sat there the colder the ground beneath her grew until she was a shivering mess. The excitement of the other kits and their cries of wonder and glee reached her ears. Rumbling paws of crunching something underfoot came to reach her ears and the group of kits crying out in happiness ran by her without a thought to include in whatever had gotten them so excited. A spray of cold wetness hit her face and she spluttered and scrambled back rubbing at her face with frantic paws wondering if she was drowning or not. She did not have the knowledge to realize that the new wonder of this world was called snow. Frozen water from the skies coming down in a wonderland of white snowflakes to coat the ground in a thin sheen of white growing thicker the longer it rained down.
"C-Cold. I-It's cold. W-Why i-i-is it so c-cold?" her teeth clinked together as she spoke to herself. She had a bad habit of talking to herself since no one else wanted to talk to her.
