The operation sounded simple and easy in her head; sneak out of her nest without waking her mother or any of her siblings. That sounded so much easier in her head when she had first thought it up. Of course, she also thought about this when she woke up, and honestly, she was still surprised that the rest of her family was still sleeping. So now, she needed to find a way out so that she could go on her much wanted adventure. But to do that, she needed to escape. Very carefully, or at least what she thought was carefully, she wiggled her way away from her siblings and her mother.[break][break]

It wasn't until all four of her paws were on the cold nursery ground did she attempt to quietly run right out of the nursery. Once free of the confining walls of the nursery, Cavekit stopped just outside the nursery entrance and looked around. "Wow, it seems so much more exciting without mom and dad!" Her vocals were excited and curious all at the same time, and she was prepared to go on this grand adventure. At least, until she rushed forward and right into someone else's leg.[break][break]

The cream colored bengal fell to her rump and shook her head, "Oof..." The kit looked up at the person she ran into, immediately thinking of excuses.

To no one's surprise, Antflame was fond of kits.

They kept up with his energy, always eager to go along with his tall tales of warriorhood or to follow any idea he helped them hatch to get into trouble. Antflame wasn't the most mature cat himself, and it was a welcome relief to spend time with young minds who did not judge or scold him. Well, usually, at least.

Many cats also suspected that Antflame liked kits because they gave him the chance to feel big.

He had been lost in thought as he trudged past the nursery, yawning widely as he wondered if it would be worth it to go out hunting before his patrol later that morning. Molethroat, a later sleeper, wouldn't join him until later, leaving the restless Antflame to find his own entertainment.

And that entertainment came in the form of a very surprising thwump against his leg.

Antflame's head lowered, wide eyes meeting Cavekit's equally wide pale eyes. Oh. Now that was unexpected. The silver tabby looked behind her, at the very obvious lack of chaperone before focusing back down on the small she-kit.

"Why, Cavekit." he meowed, eyes still wide, though this time in exaggerated alarm, "Surely you aren't sneaking out? Tell me it isn't so!" Despite his alarmed words, he made no move to scoot her back into the nursery or call for her mother to fetch her. There was an amused gleam in his eyes as well, the tom barely able to keep up the appalled and shocked mature warrior act.

"I'm positive there's a perfectly good reason for you to be out here, right?" A gentle prompt, curious as to what the kit would come up with. Whatever it was, she was lucky she had found a warrior who would be more likely to join her rather than turn her in.
