Appearance Summary: Dark ash-gray tom with long fur and bright amber-orange eyes
Build: Somewhat larger than average in overall size with a long coat to make him bigger, Ash will grow to appear as though he is built with a large amount of muscle. But underneath his long pelt, he is surprisingly more lithe and slender than others may first believe. When he gets wet from rain or swimming and his coat gets pressed to his skin, his form is better seen, though he tries to avoid water.
Fur Length: A mixture of long and medium, mostly short on face and paws
Fur Color: His pelt is nearly entirely a very dark ashy gray that appears black during the night but is clearly gray when in the light.
Fur Markings: His pelt is solid in color, though it sometimes appears as though he has markings when he stands in certain lighting due to his fur gleaming in a light silver color.
Eye Color: Bright amber
Nose Color: Black
Scars: None
Disabilities: None
Defining Features: Long fur, bright eyes, youthful face
Description: Often told that he is a lighter and smaller version of his grandfather, Ashpaw takes on a lot of the same general shapes that Nightpetal does. One shared feature is that both take on the appearance of a Maine Coon, which makes both of them larger cats naturally. While his grandfather is a much larger cat, Ashpaw is only a little bit bigger than your average cat, his long pelt making him appear even larger than he is. Though looks can be deceiving, for underneath that pelt and that size, he is surprisingly slender for a cat of this type, speed and agility coming easier to him than strength. While it can't be denied that he has the size to use strength to his advantage, he follows the size that he has underneath that fur rather than above it.
In terms of that pelt he is so often seen for, he is similar but not quite the same as his grandfather or either of his parents. He takes on a longer pelt, similarly to Nightpetal, which is quite soft to the touch. But rather than a pure midnight black in color, he takes on the more dark gray coloring of his father, only without any patterning. In the shadows, he can appear as though he is as dark as the night, merging with his surroundings. But in the daylight, it can be seen quite clearly that he has gray coloring rather than black. Another feature that he is often complimented on is that his pelt, in certain light (moonlight in particular) appears to almost glow in a silver tone, giving him a somewhat mystical appearance.
To finalize young Ashpaw's appearance, his nose is black in color with long whiskers protruding from his face, his paws are somewhat large in comparison to his body (though he will grow into them), and his eyes take on a bright orange-amber color.
Strengths: Speed, flexibility, hiding, leaping
Weaknesses: Strength, durability, 1v1 combat, swimming

Strengths: Speed, flexibility, hiding, leaping
Weaknesses: Strength, durability, 1v1 combat, swimming
Positive Traits: Gentle, polite, empathetic, determined, helpful
Negative Traits: Hard on himself, scapegoat, slightly gullible, low confidence, overly forgiving
Description: Even though constantly comparing him to his grandfather can get tiring, it is just something that is hard not to notice at any given time. He already shares many aspects of his appearance with Nightpetal, but pretty much anyone could also see traces of the big Elder in Ashpaw's personality as well. This young cat is one of those cats who just gets along with anyone, regardless of who they are. He cares deeply for those around him and he is constantly hoping to help anyone he encounters, even if that means just being there. He is the sympathetic sort, one of those cats who sees someone or something get hurt and feels the need to help them. Odd to his clanmates, this mentality extends to prey and predators too. He refuses to kill baby animals of prey due to the fact that they are babies, which in his eyes are similar to kits. He is one of those cats who will sit and have a conversation with a random loner at the edge of the territory rather than chase them away. As admirable as he is, these things can sometimes get him in trouble. If his clanmates are hungry and he avoids catching prey because it has a broken leg or is a baby, this can be troublesome for him when he gets criticized.
His kind-hearted nature is not just troublesome when it comes to showing sympathy towards others, but also when it comes to strangers. Loners, rogues, cats from other clans; it doesn't matter. If they are willing to have a friendly conversation, he will gladly start one. At times his willingness to interact with cats in this way can lead him into dangerous situations, considering not all cats are as friendly on the inside as they may appear on the outside. He puts too much trust in strangers, and even some obviously bad-natured clanmates, too quickly, causing him to be a common target for outer-clan schemes and bullying within his own clan. Other cats his age have had the tendency to use his eagerness to make friends and help others to their advantage, making him do things that he could get in trouble for.
He knows that he is a target, and he hates it, but he can't change it. And this leads into his more self-deprecating side that he tries to hide. He has been told many times that his dedication to helping others is a great trait and something to be proud of, which he is. But he also knows that being a good cat is what has caused him just about as much trouble as it has good. He gets mad at himself for being too nice, too trusting of others, but these things come to him naturally, meaning it is much harder to push aside in many situations.
Likes: Helping others, learning, getting praised, making friends
Dislikes: Getting tricked, feeling stupid, failing, letting others down
Strengths: Making friends, pulling his weight, seeing good in others
Weaknesses: Oblivious, target of bullying, too self-deprecating
Hobbies: When not training or helping others, Ash enjoys going out and just practicing stealth and agility. He tries to find the best ways to hide in plain sight, and tries to leap as high or as far as he can.
Fears: Being left behind, being disowned
Goals: Become one of the stealthiest cats in Stoneclan, one day get his own Apprentice
Negative Traits: Hard on himself, scapegoat, slightly gullible, low confidence, overly forgiving

History: One of the final flurries of snow at the end of Leafbare marked the coming of Newleaf, but also the coming of new life. Stormcloud, son of the Elder Nightpetal, laid with his mate Robinbreeze in the Nursery, Ebonyheart at their side. It was during this flurry of snow that three lives were born in the Nursery.
The large family welcomed Hailkit, the first born she-kit, Ashkit, the second-born tom, and Sandkit, the final tom, into Stoneclan. Each kit, with their own unique appearance, were immediately showered in love by their parents, as well as their older brothers Grayfang and Hazelfoot. Hailkit resembled her father, her short coat a gray with the bengal pattern, though her tones were lighter than his. Sandkit appeared more like his mother, a short sandy-brown tabby coat with white markings. Ashkit, which was a surprising but adored discovery, seemed to be a smaller and slightly lighter version of his grandfather, Nightpetal, his coat the longest of the bunch and his size on the larger end.
Even though the lives of these kits themselves started rather calmly in the Nursery, life was in the process of changing somewhat drastically outside the den for Stoneclan. A border skirmish with a patrol from Lightningclan marked the kits becoming one moon of age, though they were not told of this event until later.
A much more unfortunate turn of events, the kits were nearing 3 moons of age, about mid Newleaf, when a heavy rain caused a mudslide in the territory. The kits were still a bit too young to really understand what happened, but all they knew was that the Leader had been caught in the slide, which sent a wave of sadness through the clan. The kits were lucky, as they did not experience this sadness, for they had only really known Smokestar by name and general appearance up to this point. Not too long later, the three kits watched from the Nursery entrance as Valiantstride, the Deputy, announced the new Leader of Stoneclan: Birdtalon.
Though he had only just become Leader, the kits only really knew Birdstar as their Leader, which brought smiles to their faces the day that they became Apprentices during Greenleaf. The first round of Kits to be Apprenticed under Birdstar’s word, it had been an honor, to say the least, when their names were called forward in that ceremony.
Ashpaw, in particular, felt extremely honored about this, recognizing that, just like Birdstar had just recently became the new Leader, he and his siblings were becoming Apprentices. A rise in rank not far apart from one another brought Ashpaw to feel a connection between himself and his Leader, though he was unsure of whether it was just him.
Now having been an Apprentice for about a moon, if not a little less, Ashpaw hopes to make his family, as well as Birdstar and Valiantstride, proud of him.
