Owlmind LightningClan || 78 Moons || Deputy
"Swiftkit, Harekit, Daringkit."
The tone of voice was stern as always, though there was a softer note when addressing the youngsters of the clan. Kit were always so adventurous and headstrong, or rather several of the newer ones who had recently stretched their legs outside the safe walls of the nursery were.
Wide amber pools watched with an ever unreadable expression as that long legged she-cat made her way up to the attempted escapees as each slender kitten made their way along the side of Lightningclan's rather open camp. Almost immediately the three of them whirled around with wide-eyed expressions as if they had been rabbits caught in the claws of a hungry predator.
"Oh, Owlmind! Just the cat we wanted to see." A cheesy grin broke apart the maw of one of the pale Bengal toms, though had he not spoken then the aging deputy wouldn't have been able to discern him from Swiftkit to Harekit. Twins were a common occurrence within litters from time to time, however the gray coated molly was not aware of a time where two were so incredibly similar in voice, personality and visibility than Windspirit's two rambunctious sons. Luckily for her, Swiftkit was just a tad more flamboyant when it came to the she-cats of the clan.
Even at his young three moons he was a casanova in training.
"Hmm. I'm sure." Her raspy tone rumbled from her throat as she flickered her gaze from the two blue eyed twins to her nephew in the form of a dark ginger kit. Of the three Rosefire recently gave birth to this last Leafbare, he was more willing to go along with the twin's shenanigans rather than his brother or sister. "I assume you were heading towards the Elder's Den rather than beyond the camp."
Of course the deputy was well aware that each of the three youngsters were attempting to sneak out. It would happen with them, and it would happen with those that came in the future just as it had happened in the past. Curiosity was something that was very vibrate within the young to each cat, only to diminish with knowledge through the moons of their aging lives. There was a pause as each kitten debating lying or telling the truth but it was Owlmind's sister who broke the silence.
"There you three are." Rosefire trotted over, her amber gaze kind but filled with a certain type of tiredness. There was no doubt that carrying her kits, birthing them and raising them was taking a certain amount of energy from the aging senior queen. She was older than Owlmind was when the senior deputy had brought her own three daughters into this valley many moons ago.
"But Rosefire!" The mixed voices of Switkit and Harekit rose up the second the ginger and white queen padded forwards, though the flickering of her tail quieted the two... for now.
"No buts, you are all much too young to be wandering around the open camp. For Starclan's sake what if Owlmind hadn't been watching." She gave an exasperated sigh, slightly frantic as she sniffed over each kit carefully. "Now come on, it's time for your nap."
"Aw, five more minutes?" Swiftkit mewed.
"No." Rosefire mewed, nudging each kit forwards with her nose before flicking her tail gently against her sister's flank while herding the kits off. The tiny voices echoed behind her asking, "Four more minutes?" "Three more minutes?" And so on, bringing a wriggle of amusement to Owlmind's whiskers for a moment before turning her attention to more pressing matters to deal with rather than kit watching.
Ignoring the faint pain within her shoulder, the gray molly made her way towards the center of the camp before lowering her haunches to sit comfortably. Large ears flickered as she heard noises from the Nursery were her sister was attempting to settle the large amount of kits that had been gifted to Lightingclan this past Leafbare. She heard the noises of the elders passing stories and jokes back and forth from where they lay comfortably within their den.
There was a surge of pride that rose within Owlmind's chest at the fact that her clan was thriving. Lightningclan still held strong onto the Open Woods territory that was reclaimed from Treeclan, though more recently there was an issue among the border between them and Stoneclan. Luckily, Crowface's antics did not escalate to anything more than an intense border skirmish that most certainly was not approved by either leader nor deputy.
Owlmind personally dealt with her warrior in a professional albeit strict manner.
That, however, was in the past and best left there though kept as a reminder for future events. The aging deputy was currently looking towards the ongoing future, the path that lay ahead of their paws as they continued on their lives as a growing powerhouse among the other clans of the Valley. Under her paws as deputy they had surged, and she would make sure they continued that way until she drew her last breath among the moorlands.
"Warriors of Lightningclan, come to me so that we may talk about Greenleaf." Owlmind parted her jaws and rose her sharp, rasp to be heard to those who were still wandering or settled within the comfortable camp walls. A large ear flickered as she heard movements from all around while she watched as those under her careful vision and protection moved to gather near her. She was pleased with their swift actions as her gaze moved over each cat padding in her direction.
Cloudthroat, Nightstep, Brightpool and Palescreech, senior warriors that Owlmind rather valued when it came to their opinions and views towards not only Lightningclan but the valley as a whole. Batear and her sister stirred from somewhere farther off, causing for note that all three of her council members would be joining this conversation. Even some of the younger cats, such as Goldenblaze or Goosechase seemed to be intrigued with the call she gave.
She was pleased her daughters were attentive, though she couldn't say the same for Thunderheart as the young tom slipped from the entrance of the camp and out onto the moors beyond.
Wisdom. Courage. Strategy.

in t Love doesn't discriminate Between the sinners and the saints, it takes and it takes and it takes
"Skypaw!" His voice carried within the confines of the apprentice den. A lack of response prompted him to call once more, but this time a young tom-cat replied. However, it was not his son who answered but Ravenpaw.
"He isn't here," The tom answered, returning his head to his nest. Sunnyheart departed from the den's entrance, his brow knitted forward. Pinning Skypaw down was proving more difficult then he expected. It seemed the moment his son had earned his apprentice name he had found himself scarce. Not a concern normally, Sunnyheart's stomach twisted. Had his son found himself involved in something bad? While he couldn't fathom the idea beyond that, he still worried. Skypaw had started differently compared to his siblings. He didn't care for the stories of notable clanmates, but instead of the life beyond the valley. A curious interest-only shared by one other cat within his family, his brother. Niko had decided in their youth to abandon the Clan that took them in. Niko wanted to find his way. At first, Sunnyheart harbored a deep frustration for him but as moons passed, so did the anger. There was no time in the valley to hold onto a brother's faults.
The same couldn't be said for Skypaw. He wasn't ready no matter his determination. Nearly deadset to find his son and have a heart to heart, he heard Owlmind's call. Tempted by the newness of fatherhood to ignore the deputy's call and find Skypaw. He didn't have to as his son returned to camp, carrying a decent sized quail in his jaw. Content, for the time being, Sunnyheart watched Skypaw add the prey to the pile before heading in the direction of the apprentice den.
At least he had a better idea of where to start after the meeting, Sunnyheart headed in Owlmind's direction. One of the later cats to join, he remained aware of his size and took up a spot near the edge as not block anyone's view of the meeting. His gaze traveled the gathered cats, equal parts curious of who had been in camp and searching for the familiar notched ear of Birchspots.
Instead of spotting Birchspots, he watched as Brightpool joined the group. Her stark white pelt having been dirtied by dust, likely from the tunnels. She brushed past him, her gentle touch soothing the nerves he hadn't realized were frayed. Brightpool had such a natural ability to bring calm. As she parted from him to join the other council members, he nudged her shoulder, thanking her for her presence. As the adopted mother to his loving mate, Sunnyheart felt honored to have her in his corner. A constant source of comfort that he had no shame in admitting he needed as his kits grew up and enter their dangerous world.
Affixing his gaze on Owlmind, he waited. Looking forward to hearing her wisdom and what his clanmates had to offer.

He was awfully tired; having not slept much recently due to certain things on his mind and training a rather feisty and hard to understand apprentice that was dang near about to become a warrior Silverburr felt older then his actual moons. He returned into the camp's clearing after an unsuccessful hunt; too much on his mind to stay focused the silver dappled warrior cringed a second when he heard the raspy call of the deputy calling for her warriors to gather. He didn't mind obeying of course; as he did have the highest respect for the older warrior but darn it his nest was calling him right now. A sharp nudge to his shoulder alerted him that his hunting partner Russet-Tail had made it through the entrance, not caring if he bumped into the other warrior as he was blocking the entrance. At least the ginger and white tom had caught something better being a stronger mind to help him today while his silver counterpart partner brought nothing home with them. While the larger warrior went ahead to the Nursery to place his fresh kill down for Rosefire and her kits as she was one of the last few in the clan Nursery to have kits alongside Windspirit the large tom had a soft spot for that particular den for some reason no one understood Silverburr watched him a moment before turning his attention from the Nursery and the large warrior that slipped inside and headed his own way towards the quickly gathering cats .Silverburr settled himself down in the back and studied Owlmind; the senior warrior seemed a little more tired then usual as she stood there awaiting the rest of the arrival of her clans; per instruction the warriors only that slipped through from their varies of places.
Stifling a yawn the lanky tom settled himself down and looked around at the others that slowly gathered; his mind slowly drifting away to what could be the issue at hand that Owlmind needed all the warriors to gather? It was not the usual meeting they had when called. Usually everyone else was able to attend to the clan meeting but for some reason Owlmind wanted only warriors and that kind of concerned him as he watched her a long moment. A movement off to the side caught his attention and he caught sight of Russet-Tail sitting off by himself but within the circle of gathered cats watching with an unreadable look in his eyes despite there being a rather displeased mask on his face as his dark amber eyes watched everyone before focusing his attention on Owlmind. Somehow Silverburr had missed the other leaving the Nursery and joining everyone to hear what the deputy had to say. "This better be good." Silverburr heard the other mutter to himself as he was clearly not too keen on being here right now; maybe he wanted his warm nest too. "You don't have to be rude about it Russet-Tail." the silver tabby muttered back giving him a displeased look right back; that was kind of disrespectful but the ginger and white tom shot a warning look towards the smaller male but kept his mouth shut before turning to look at Owlmind clearly not wanting to be there and just wanted her to start already with whatever she needed to talk about.
Notes: Sorry it's sort; my unintentional mini break made me a bit rusty. Still getting in the swing of coming back.

A yawn parted the black maw of the lanky she-cat, a pair of rabbits hanging by their tails falling into the fresh-kill pile. Long legs slowly lowered forwards in a stretch, smooth and lean muscles pushing against that thin and dark coat. Vibrant green eyes momentarily closed from the rays of sunlight which prodded annoyingly at them. A long and thin tail flicked from side to side as the stretch finally came to an end.
Batear’s morning had been spent running among the moors, chasing any rabbit stupid enough to appear within her sights. A part of that morning had also been spent with some of the younger Warriors, Goosechase among them. No, the fiery gray she-cat did not enjoy the fact that she had been taken out on a “training session” despite now being a Warrior, but this was what the black Warrioress did. It had been about a whole season since Owlmind had asked Batear to join her council, her own group of cats each with their own skills within the clan that they were to assist the rest of the clan with as well. Nightstep was in charge of battle tactics, Brightpool took care of tunneling, and Batear had been chosen to take care of hunting. It had been an honor to be given such a task, and she took it very seriously, going out with the younger Warriors and some of the Apprentices as often as she could.
At the thought of the gray Deputy, she heard that familiar raspy voice call out. She peered around her to find Owlmind in the center of camp, the calculating Oriental sitting and watching as the Warriors she requested the presence of began to make their way to her. Seeing as how she called for all of the Warriors, large ears flicked and a slender frame turned, light paws carrying the black she-cat towards her Deputy and council leader.
As she neared, the lead hunter, should her position in the council be given such a title(she did not call herself this, but it was a thought), took a seat next to Brightpool, who had already chosen her spot among the crowd near the hostess of the meeting.
Narrowed green eyes watched the little scene at the edge of camp unfold, a thin gray tail flicking in slight irritation. The moment the slender she-cat had made her way into camp, she had spotted a couple little balls of fur sneaking around, slipping behind dens and hiding in the shadows casted by the sun. If it wasn’t obvious that all the kits that had been born within that Nursery weren’t ready for Apprenticeship, it was now, especially if that was the best they could do.
The dark gray Warrioress found herself lucky that she had not been like them. Granted, she had her two infuriating sisters to deal with, but at least they had some skill, even at their young age. These kits? Hardly. Their attempts at sneaking brought a smirk to that thin face, though she had taken no effort to stop them. If they wished to be Apprentices that badly and leave the Nursery that quickly, let them. She would merely flick her ears when she later heard that they were swept away by a hawk or eaten by a fox. Perhaps the rest of the kits in that Nursery would learn a lesson from it.
But alas, a stern and easily recognizable voice called out to the kits, stopping them in their tracks. Eyes slightly widening and ears perking, the easily-irritated Goosechase glanced to the side, spotting her mother walking towards the youngsters. She did not hear what passed between them, nor did she really care. But she merely watched, eyes focused on her mother rather than the kits. She took note of another cat, Rosefire, joining the little crowd, and her eyes narrowed once more.
And that’s why you properly watch your furballs.
As the scene faded and the separate parties disbanded, her eyes found themselves following Owlmind as she walked towards the center of camp and took a seat. There was something there, something odd, that she caught by watching this action. Was her mother more tired than usual? Had she hurt herself? She couldn’t quite tell, but the Deputy’s voice calling out through the camp turned her thoughts away from such things.
What was said caught her off-guard. Her mother was requesting all of the Warriors, and the Warriors only, to have a meeting with her? What exactly would this be about?
The slightest hint of curiosity flicked in those narrowed eyes as she stood from where she sat, walking towards her mother. At one side of her, she took note of a particular black feline who looked similar to herself also joining the crowd. She had already dealt with Batear enough for the day, but it was no use. She was one of her mother’s lackeys, so it could not be helped.
To the other side, there was a flash of something else that sparked in her gaze: anger. Just as she joined the crowd, her eyes remained locked on a certain cat who appeared to be exiting the Nursery to join the crowd. At the sight of him, her teeth openly bared. Her mother had requested for the Warriors of Lightningclan to join her in the meeting. So what did he think he was doing? Who did he think he was.
A deep purr rumbled through the chest of a form within the Nursery, the pelt of another pressing against his own. With yellow eyes closed and a content smile on his face, the Bengal tom found his chin laying atop the shoulders of the silver she-cat at his side. With his tail wrapped around her own and two of their paws crossed, he found himself beginning to drift off into a calm sleep.
Though this sleep was interrupted as he suddenly felt claws dig into his flank, causing him to quickly lift his head and look back. The smile returned brighter to his face at the sight of a young orange tabby, wide light blue eyes looking to him.
“Dad, Swiftkit and Harekit aren’t here!” Leopardheart’s ears perked at this, looking quickly around the Nursery before his eyes returned to Tigerkit.
“Did you see them leave?” The little tabby shook her head quickly, though they both heard a commotion outside of the Nursery, causing both heads to turn. Just as the pair of pale Bengals in question appeared at the Nursery entrance, a voice rang out through the camp and into the Nursery.
His spotted tail slowly unraveled from his mate’s as he gently rose to his paws, Tigerkit still clinging to his flank. He took careful steps out of the nest, in case Windspirit had fallen asleep, before he took only a few more steps towards the Nursery entrance. Yellow eyes looked down at the two small toms before him, his eyes slightly narrowing. Even though he looked stern at the two, inside he found himself nearly melting. It happened every time he found his eyes drawn to the litter of kits these two had come from.
It amazed him every day how similar the four kits were to himself and their mother. Swiftkit and Harekit, the two toms who had taken on their mother’s light coloring and his own Bengal markings. Snowkit, the youngest she-kit who had taken more of her mother’s side in terms of both coloring and markings. And then there was the she-kit who currently used him as a climbing post, little Tigerkit, who had her mother’s tabby markings but the orange coloring that ran in his family. All were their own mixes of both parents, and it brought a sense of pride to him every time he remembered this. But now wasn’t the time to be gushing over the fact that his kits were growing. It was time to be a father, just as he was told to only a few moons previous.
“You two had better not be causing trouble for Rosefire. Neither of you will be allowed to leave the Nursery if you keep this up, ” he stated, keeping his voice as steady yet firm as he could. He couldn’t be easy on them, especially with how troublesome the two of them were already becoming in just their first moons. The twin boys seemed to have a knack for causing trouble, often getting other kits involved as well. He did as much as he could during his time within the Nursery to keep watch over the kits while the Queens slept. But there were quite a few kits to keep an eye on, both his own and others. In just his and Windspirit’s litter alone were four kits, with little Dandelionkit an extension to said litter. There were also Rosefire’s little ones, who only added more little kits to watch after. Though it was difficult, he often found himself ending up the target of their antics. He couldn’t even count the amount of times since he had arrived to Lightningclan that he laid outside the Nursery, pairs of what felt like hundreds of little paws and claws running and jumping across him like a fallen log. Though he often gained many scratches from those sharp claws and was constantly having his ears and tail pulled by little teeth, he didn’t mind. In his head, the fact that the Queens allowed him to look after all the little ones was an honor, one that he kept close to his heart.
Pushing these thoughts aside, the golden Bengal’s gaze directed to the outside of the Nursery, spotting many cats gathering at the order of Owlmind, the clan’s Deputy. He glanced back at the young tabby who still held onto his shoulders, flashing a smile.
“You need to get down, Tigerkit. I need to get out there.” He heard a slight whine from the she-kit, but she obliged, hopping down from his back with a thud, and returning to Windspirit’s side. He turned his head back to Rosefire as she herded the trio of troublemakers into the Nursery. “Thank you for getting them, ” he meowed, a low and thankful purr evident in his voice.
He then turned once more, padding out of the Nursery and into the sun. He turned his head slightly away from the sun, still not fully used to being hit with the warmth the moment he left any of the dens. He was still getting used to life within Lightningclan, and he had to admit that it was difficult at times. But his family within the Nursery was a constant reminder of why he had come here, giving him back his confidence.
As he neared the crowd, he felt multiple pairs of eyes peer at him, likely not in a good way. Though the judgemental gazes of his new clanmates were harsh and sometimes cold, he had to keep his head high. He had to prove that he was a Warrior worthy of their time. He had to prove to Owlmind and Redstar that they had not made a mistake. So, though he sat near the back of the crowd, he still kept his chin raised, eyes watching and ears waiting for what the gray Deputy had to say. Running with the wind through my fur and the stars above me.

A grumpy she-cat lay her head on top of her sleek limbs. The wedge shape of her face fit perfectly in the groove between her legs, the scarred side resting flat. Although her eyes were closed, she was not sleeping. Her tail, whip thin, twitched like a rat's at the sounds of her clanmates. Crowface did not join them to socialize. Instead, she brooded on the state of her Clan, wondering if those kits of Rosefire's were going to usher in a new generation of greatness for LightningClan. Crowface hardly desired to be a queen, but she couldn't deny the allure in raising soldiers to emulate her will. Even Owlmind had kits--warriors now, and strong too. If she was going to tolerate more guarded eyes on her, she wanted to keep her eyes on the future by poring over the collection of strong toms within LightningClan.
As Owlmind, the clan deputy, called for a clan meeting, Crowface's brows drew forward in annoyance. Why is she making the yowl? she thought. She stirred but did not come forward. The petty she-cat didn't want to move from her place. She could hear Owlmind perfectly from where she was, thank you.
The skirmish against StoneClan had gone well in Crowface's opinion, but Owlmind was having none of it, and she'd punished the black Oriental with travel restrictions afterward, like a child grounded on summer vacation. "Hmph. StarClan better not pick this time to have a fire," Crowface grumbled. Why was Owlmind calling for warriors only though? Her desire to be nosy started to nudge her spite out of the way. Sullenly, the black-furred molly stretched forward and arched upright. Her bony body swayed as she slipped around cats who had intended to sit directly in her line of sight. Her acid-green eyes slid sideways to glare briefly at Russet-tail's annoyingly bushy tail as she passed him with a snobby tsk. She took a seat and quickly looked around at the clan members gathered around Owlmind.
"How long we gonna sit here waiting for Redstar?" she asked impatiently. Her eyes swept across the faces of her Clanmates; if anyone gave her a dirty look, she'd hold it with her own glare. She didn't want to be at this meeting knowing she wouldn't be allowed to do anything she'd suggest, but it was for LightningClan so she'd tolerate this, if only to know what was going to be happening. If this was meant for all warriors, Crowface hoped there'd be a war for them to fight in and expand their turf.
ooc: meanwhile in crow-is-butthurt land. VIOLENCE, GIMME VIOLENCE!!

Time and again boys are raised to be men Skypaw had very speedily proven himself to be a pawful. His thoughts were as distant as the blue canvas he was named for and he seemed to have a knack for disappearing on him. He was the first apprentice Birchspots had ever mentored, but he was certain it wasn't normal for young cats to suddenly vanish into thin air. Frustration grasping his heart, the silver tabby tom gazed out across the rolling moorland with keen amber eyes, struggling to place the familiar dark brown pelt of the young tom. Unfortunately, dark tabbies tended to blend in quite well against the dry brush, which made Skypaw even more elusive. Looking for him when he wasn't interested in being found was like trying to find a two-headed rabbit.
His mind spun with worry. He didn't think Skypaw was incompetent. He seemed to manage quite well on his own for his age. This gave Birchspots some reassurance that Skypaw wouldn't do something incredibly foolish to get himself hurt, but as an apprentice, he shouldn't be off on his own so much. His youth and lack of experience made him vulnerable no matter how independent he was and Birchspots would never forgive himself if the young tom was hurt. He had noticed that Skypaw was immensely inquisitive about the world around him and Birchspots sought to hone into that trait by making their training sessions as exciting to the young tom as he could. But still, he evaded him both physically and emotionally. There was something detached about Skypaw's attitude towards their lessons that Birchspots wondered about. He saw himself in the young cat, in the way he seemed "other" and "separate" from his clanmates. He hoped it wasn't caused by his failings as a teacher and a mentor. He hoped he could foster a bond with the young cat that could make him feel a little more like he belonged.
It was hard to convince a cat they belonged when you couldn't find them in their den, in the camp, or anywhere out on the territory. Bewildered and frustrated in equal measure, Birchspots turned to head for home. He would have to try and ask Skypaw why he so often ran off to be alone next time he saw him. Birchspots wasn't one to scold unless something incredibly dangerous or awful had been done, so he aimed to reach an understanding with Skypaw before trying to lecture him in any way. Maybe I should try talking to his kin? The silver warrior wondered. His family would know and understand him better than a mentor ever could. It was something.
The parched dirt was dense beneath his claws as he made his way into the hollow of LightningClan's camp. His jagged ear flicked in astonishment as he saw that a crowd had begun to gather in camp. A meeting? His eyes scoured the body of felines, but not so much as a glimpse of that bob-tailed adventurer. Torn between wanting to locate Skypaw and needing to know what the meeting was about, Birchspots hesitated. Through the crowd, a splash of ginger and white caught his attention. Sunnyheart was shoving his way through the tightly packed group of adult warriors, his white ear tufts giving him a somewhat wisened look. His paws heavy with apprehension, Birchspots went to meet him, his own copper eyes glimmering with anxiety. He wondered if Sunnyheart would disapprove of Birchspots's lack of discipline or authority over his son, or appreciate his delicate approach.
Before Sunnyheart could so much as speak, Birchspots immediately launched into a hastened explanation. "Did Skypaw come back to camp? I can't find him anywhere, I looked everywhere out on the moors." His voice was full of genuine worry, not the typical anxious demeanour of the nervous tom but a concern that said he deeply cared what happened to the young tom. He couldn't help but wonder what pulled Skypaw so far from his clanmates, what tug he felt in his heart that distracted him from training. Birchspots raised his head to look up at Owlcall, the discussions of his clanmates ringing out around him. It seemed they were talking about plans for the future. Redstar was nowhere to be seen. Where in the name of StarClan was Redstar? His eyes scanned the crowd, but not a sight of the russet tom could be found.

Owlmind LightningClan || 72 Moons || Deputy
Wide amber pools watched as the familiar shapes and colors of her clanmates making their way into the clearing, the expression upon the older feline's face was unreadable, as always. However, despite that little fact her mind was consistently maneuvering through ideas and plans when it came to both the cats around her and to Lightningclan itself.
Large ears flickered atop the wedge shaped face of the deputy, she didn't catch every mumble and sound but those who rose their voices were definitely heard.
The clan could be a difficult thing, so many personalities meshing together whether in a good way or a bad. Sometimes warriors clashed with each other, apprentices picked fights and even the queens could be caught bickering on occasions, but in the end they were all members of Lightningclan. Even those who were born with the wind running through their blood, like Leopardheart, as the former Treeclanner made his way to the outskirts of the gathered group.
Those wide pools didn't miss the look of disgust that crossed the near identical face of Goosechase. It wasn't an unknown feature that many didn't enjoy mixing blood with those outside but Owlmind was not one to believe in turning others away. If a cat wanted to join and preceded to pass the trials placed before their paws then there was no reason they couldn't earn a warrior's name and title.
The more warriors loyal to the name of Lightningclan the better, did it truly matter where they were born?
Flickering her long, thin tail, the dilute molly raised herself to her paws as those around her began to settle and quiet. She could see the confusion in the eyes of younger cats but curiosity rising within those of the more senior within the clan that were familiar with Owlmind and her particular ways. She took her duties serious, something that had been doted upon by others at a young age, there was no reason why her ascend to Deputyship would be any different.
"Thank you for joining me." The aging feline's whiting maw parted as her familiar sharp rasp fell from her throat, an ear twitched slightly as she heard the sounds of the kits squealing from inside the protective walls of the nursery. There were so many of them, more paws to train and more mouths to feed, and perhaps the true base for which she called this meeting.
"For now, this doesn't concern Redstar so there is no need to bother him just yet." What she said was true, as her intentions were to poll the warriors of her clan to get an idea on what they might want. Their voices were just as important as either hers or the red coated leader when it came to decisions about Lightningclan's future. Should there be a mass agreement on the subject about to be discussed, well then Redstar would be immediately informed.
"Our clan is growing, prospering." She started, fitting in almost perfectly to the role of addressing the clan before her small, nimble paws. "We have nine young kits, strong and healthy within our nursery. Someday they will join the rest of you among the rank of Warrior." As she spoke, those amber hues slowly ran over several cats, remembering the times she had watched the grow from tiny balls of fur to the lean Lightningclanners standing before her.
Many of which she had trained and proudly stood by as their earned their full name.
"I've called you all here to discuss what should be done about Sun Stones. We as a clan need to decide if it should be shared or if we should retake the territory from Stoneclan." She did not want war, despite it being something she was good at. Owlmind truly only wanted the best for her clan, territory included within that bundle.
Wisdom. Courage. Strategy.

Beauty is a joy that forever increases It will never pass into nothingness
Silverburr settled uneasily as the wait grew longer and longer as more warriors came forth hearing the deputy's call. The silver dappled tom scanned each face seeing many he grew up knowing and some that came from a different clan like Leopardheart. Unlike some he did not see the need for hate just because one was not born in the same clan. Loyalty had no bound clan in his opinion but that was a different story. The many voices that spoke and called around mingled in his ears making them twitch but his eyes returned quickly to Owlmind as she began speaking. Oh so many kits there were indeed and it made Silverburr proud to think their clan was prospering greatly. He pictured every kit that was within the walls of the clan and smiled to himself; thinking of his time that he himself was young and grew up with taking care of his siblings by himself without a father figure to support them. His thoughts nearly made him miss Owlmind's next words; sunningrocks? What about sunning rocks? Shoot he didn't hear the rest of it. It was Russet-Tail quick tempered as ever to say something. Standing quickly to his paws; although one who did not speak often he was here and might as well say something if the deputy was asking for opinions even if others didn't agree on it.
"Sunningstones is ours. It always was. Sharing the land that's rightfully belongs to us is stupid; Stoneclan have their own area's they can fight over or find to claim as their own. We keep what is ours! We are the bigger clan anyways." he stated with a glare at the thought of others taking their land.
Silverburr cleared his throat sharply and gave his clanmate a look to shut him up and as usual smoothed over his harsher words with his own logical ones. "I do agree that we are the bigger clan Owlmind...we will need more land to sustain us if we are growing bigger in numbers. Sunningstones has always been a land mark that is fought over because of where it is bordered that could go either way...Sharing it would make sense of course as we aren't the only ones who need the forest but the forest is vast....Russet-Tail does have a good point...but what if instead of fighting over it we continue to share...not seasonally but instead making it a neutral zone? A place of peace to be kept much like the Gatheirng place?" he offered glancing around the other faces to see how they'd react to the suggestion.
"A common place for both clans to get away perhaps? There is no sense in swapping what seasons we or they can have for the Sunningstones because there will be much more conflict and in certain seasons Sunningstones isn't a good place to hunt anyways?" he stated shrugging. "It's a thought anyways." he stated; he wouldn't care either way but peace right now would be better to have when they had so many kits to have to protect and care for. word count tags Silverburr Russet-Tail Ivoryrose poppypaw Tigerpaw Smudgenose PRIMROSEPETAL mousepaw rock pendulum
