Sagepaw
Treeclan Medicine Cat Apprentice
I swam through a vast world, past my own feelings of not wanting to regret anything
Doing chores by yourself was a boring prospect. She and Acornpaw were the youngest apprentices, and Sagepaw was used to her cushy comfortable life in the nursery. Of course, she'd been bored of that long before she became an apprentice, and she'd had a few adventures outside the nursery that had jolted her perspective of what it'd be like to grow up. However, one thing she never had to do was be alone. No matter what, she had somebody around, whether it be her mom or her sister or her dad or her uncle or just about anybody really. She cared for TreeClan a lot, even the rude stinky cats that lived in it, and Sagepaw could never imagine living the life of a loner or rogue--the kind of cat that lived by themselves and lived only for themselves.
The life of a clan cat involved contributing to the Clan as a whole, not just hunting or patroling, but keeping up with daily maintenance. Sagepaw had sort of forgotten that apprentices would come and go, swapping out her mother's bedding for fresh unsoiled moss. (She'd been more concerned with why her bed smelled differently than who'd changed it.) It seemed a daunting task alone, and Sagepaw had been relieved to find out that everyone contributed, not just a pair of youngbloods wishing for the best. She envied everyone else's relationships with their mentors. The idea of being medicine cat apprentice was exciting, or she thought it was supposed to be, anyway. She hadn't forgotten that day when Falconstorm had yelled her out of his den. She wanted to give him the respect he was due as a medicine cat, but his personality made it difficult. Frowning, the blue Somali shredded her carefully collected old moss and sent sprinkles back over the ground again. Sagepaw rolled her eyes at her loss of composure. Stay cool, Sagepaw. If you can handle him, you can handle any scrub NightClanner who gives you dung, she reminded herself. She looked up to find Acornpaw finishing up on her end and quickly brought up her collection to the entryway of the elder's den. She stank of mousebile, having volunteered to fetch it from her mentor and apply it to flea-bitten pelts.
"This is the last of it," she announced, smiling at her sister. Together, they brought the old moss to the exit and disposed of it, bouncing and tumbling all the way until she heard Minktoes calling her sister's name. Sagepaw's eyes dimmed as their playtime was cut short. Keeping the smile upon her face, she lifted herself off the ground. "Sounds like it's time for your training, Acornpaw," she gave a low chuckle, fighting the loneliness back. "That's okay. I should go bathe anyway. I really reek." She tried to make it seem like it didn't bother her that Acornpaw was going to leaver her behind into order to become a real warrior. Turning away, she was stunned by the abrupt tackle as her bigger sister pounced her down.
"Come on! You can totally come with us," Acornpaw declared loudly.
"Huh, really, but you haven't even asked Minktoes yet?" Sagepaw replied. She blinked incredulously. Falconstorm would flay her fur if she had Acornpaw tag along on a training session. Sagepaw suddenly looked uncomfortable, fearful of how Falconstorm would react when she walked back to the medicine cat. "Nevermind, I really want to go with you." She straightened and followed Acornpaw over to Minktoes, who had another warrior with her, a cat that reminded her of Lionstar a bit.
"...hello, Brackenstride," Sagepaw greeted the taller warrior, feeling her cheeks warm in the handsome tom's presence. She kept herself close to Acornpaw, feeling reassured that her sister would handle everything with confidence.
“I’m not giving up!”
Just saying that won’t make it happen

Fawn Ghost the Undead Goddess BlooRey DVD for the group training thread! this could be for acorn's and sage's territory threads; my main goal for sage here is to get the lay of the land before she goes out with falcon so that if she's ever left behind, she can make it home. (I will probably have a thread where she does get separated from her mentor at some point and stays in some random foxhole all night terrified)
