Fogcloud's most distinguishing feature are their warm green eyes, which stand out against the pale colour palette of the rest of their pelt. Their eyes are softly rounded, seated upon a smooth, flat muzzle. Their scent, as expected from a RainClan cat, is that of the river and of the fish who inhabit it. Rather than finding this scent unpleasant, it comforts them, as the river and the fish are their main source of relaxation and leisure. Unlike their brightly coloured siblings, Fogcloud was born with diluted calico fur, making them stand out from their brother and sister from the very start. They have wide, large paws that look like the suit the paws of a fighter, not a gentle cat like Fogcloud. Their pelt is rather fluffy and hangs down from their body in big thick bushels. Often during the snow, their fur will become clogged with it, which is a massive nuisance to them. Their face, almost entirely lost in the thick mane that surrounds it, is incredibly round, giving them a soft and friendly look despite their size. Though they look somewhat menacing, Fogcloud isn't quite built for fighting. The strongest part of their body are their front fore-paws, from catching fish.
Their pelt is almost entirely grey, earning them their name. The occasional cream splash and white underbelly highlights their markings. They walk with the slow, plodding pace of a large cat that doesn't want to be noticed. Like most RainClan cats, Fogcloud keeps their fur well-groomed and tidy, and is often appalled by the state of their brother's fur. They tend to drop their gaze a lot, giving an impression of nervousness, but anxiety is not what averts this feline's eyes. They are rather tall, and can often be mistaken for a tom at a distance. Then again, they are frequently mistaken for a molly up close, too.
A bushy-furred silver and cream dilute calico with light green eyes.
None.

Fogcloud is rarely specific or clear in what they say. Sometimes they find it difficult to be concise in their words, which can lead to some confusion over what exactly they mean. The same has been the case in terms of their gender identity, many cats in the Clan struggle to understand their desire to neither be viewed as a tom or a she-cat as they fail to be able to explain it in a way that makes sense to others. If there's one thing other cats appreciate about them though, it's that they are entirely sincere. They mean no harm on anyone and that is clear to any cat who bothers to get to properly know them. They are convicted to their Clan, a cat who only wants to fish and do their own thing without causing any trouble or drama. If you want a cat to get something done well, you should definitely go to Fogcloud. They are methodical and efficient in everything they do, always searching for how to get the best results in anything. They enjoy chores most other cats would reject, as they find simple pleasure in the act of doing something to the best of their ability.
It is tricky to become friends with this cat. Many don't bother trying, for to any outsider Fogcloud seems as aloof as a cloud. They don't seem friendly, sounding cold and distant in most of their interactions with new cats. This hasn't one them many friends, and they tend to be somewhat of a loner in their own Clan. They have a mysterious air about them that tends to give rise to silly rumours, rumours that they try their best to ignore. They like to stand on their own four paws, and if their clanmates can't respect that, then they'll survive. They have always been the level-headed, somewhat odd addition to their litter of three. They tend to keep their thoughts to themself unless they see it as worth contributing to the conversation, making them rather quiet.
They find it difficult to take compliments, and are very gracious when it comes to success. They would never come across as overly proud of themself to others, and finds praise almost uncomfortable. They aren't much of a risk-taker, and always weigh a situation out before taking action. They aren't inclined to stick their neck out unless the situation is definitely dire. They can be somewhat forgetful, especially when it comes to social promises. It isn't uncommon for them to go out hunting and vanish when they had promised to join a border patrol that evening. They have always been mature for their age. The saying goes that you can't put an old head on young shoulders, but Fogcloud is already off to a pretty good start despite their lack of life experience. They prefer their own company and enjoy spending long hours down by the river, fishing or otherwise enjoying the luxury of solitude. They are easily discouraged from something and can quickly give up if anything goes wrong, which is where their main dislike of fighting stems from. They never had a natural knack for it, and so they poured all their energy into learning how to fish.

[attr="class","cp cp-cake"] BIRTH
Cygnetwing had not been a new mother when she had given birth to Fogkit, Perchkit and Poppykit. In fact, she had already borne two litters of kits. Fogkit's older siblings Heronkit and Stork-kit. Carpkit also came to be part of the brood many moons later. Fogkit's older sister Carpkit did not have an ordinary upbringing. She was born in the direct aftermath of the infamous RainClan civil war. Cygnetwing had been a purist, one of the last remaining of that side of the war in fact. Cygnetwing made the decision to return to RainClan in order to ensure the survival of her young kit, entering her own birth-home with all the dignity of a prisoner. Of course, she was treated with suspicion and even resentment. She had to earn back the trust of her clanmates, and assimilate young Carp-paw into the life of a Clan where she had never experienced one before. Most of her clanmates regarded Cygnetwing with mistrust and disdain. But not Lionstride. He became her main friend and confidant, and it wasn't long before rumours of Cygnetwing's third pregnancy had spread. Fogkit, Poppykit and Perchkit were borne into the Clan, the civil war an unreachable piece of the past to them.
[attr="class","cp cp-chick"] KITHOOD
Cygnetwing decided not to share her purist roots with her impressionable young kits. Instead, she dedicated herself to teaching them loyalty to RainClan as one unit rather than divided into two parties. She was determined that their young minds be filled with values of the Warrior Code rather than the varying opinions on blood purity and the war fought to shed pure and impure blood alike. Fogkit's father was very involved in the upbringing of them and their siblings, he prided himself in being a good father. Even back then, Fogkit seemed a little more distant than most kits at that age. They preferred to wander off to their own little corner of the camp and listen to the sigh of the river. Sometimes, this worried Cygnetwing, who could feel the scrutiny of her clanmates over her and her kits.
As hard as Fogkit's parents tried, they were acutely aware of the tension, the whisperings and the disapproving glances. No amount of parental love could block out the realities of a tough world. Of course, other cats waited until Lionstride was out of earshot before badmouthing his kits, he would not tolerate any rumours or insults directed at his children. Fogkit never knew their older brothers, Heronsplash and Storkleg, very well. They grew up instead with Carp-paw playing the "older sister" role. Eventually, she was named Carpleap, and became too wrapped up in warriors duties to spend all too much time with her younger siblings.

[attr="class","cp cp-certificate"] APPRENTICESHIP
Fogkit didn't even seem excited for their apprentice ceremony. They regarded the day with the same neutrality they regarded any day, with perhaps the occasional smile drifting over their lips. A certain sense of discomfort and dissatisfaction came over them throughout their apprenticeship, however. They found themself feeling hollow, like they had been scooped out or perhaps there had always been a little something missing. They became quiet and withdrawn, but kept their misgivings about their feelings private. It was rare for Fogpaw to give much about their own emotions away, and they remained calm and level-headed much into their apprenticeship. This calm was abruptly threatened by Poppypaw and her mentor Berrybreeze's terrible habit of leaving all the worst chores to Perchpaw and Fogpaw.
A burning resentment built up in Fogpaw's heart, and they found themself beginning to dislike their sister despite themself. Fogpaw and Perchpaw began to gang up on her, the resentment broiling until two siblings isolated the one. However, rather than ignore their unhappiness, Poppypaw agreed to help more with the less favourable apprentice work. This was enough to settle Fogpaw's anger, and they quickly forgave their sister and moved on from the quarrel. Perchpaw was not quite so forgiving, and Fogpaw's quick acceptance made him resent them too. Perchpaw and Fogpaw grew ever more distant while the other two siblings pulled closer together.
A chance encounter with a young loner along the RainClan border one fine morning when they were simply trying to find somewhere to relax on their own led to an interesting journey of self-discovery. Though Fogpaw was tense at the prospect of encountering an outsider, they did not want to attack this cat who seemed not much older than themself. The pair struck up a conversation, which Fogpaw had not entirely wanted, as they didn't really enjoy long, drawn-out conversations. The cat revealed, however, that they came from a small family of loners where no cat was gendered. Fogpaw was shocked by this prospect, and listened while the loner explained how their own family believed that dividing cats into categories based on things like that were ridiculous. Every cat was referred to the same way. Fogpaw came away from that conversation with a heavy sense of peace, one they didn't quite understand.
They mulled over what the loner had told them for several moons afterwards, wondering. They had never quite enjoyed being referred to as a she-cat, but assumed they were just being odd like other cats told them they were. But the suggestion that a cat could truly be neither... it was an entirely new idea to Fogpaw. Poppypaw was the first cat they went to, about two moons before they were made a warrior. Upon confessing to Poppypaw that they worried they were neither a tom nor a she-cat, Poppypaw was surprisingly supportive and unconfused. When Fogpaw finally built up the courage to ask other cats to refer to them neutrally, they were met with mixtures of disdain and disregard. Some cats found it strange, others didn't care at all. Still, Fogpaw was relieved. They were met with utter derision from Perchpaw, however, who refused to respect the change. This only led to Fogpaw trying to avoid him even more often than before, feeling a pang of regret for that now soured relationship.

[attr="class","cp cp-paw"] WARRIORHOOD
They passed their assessment before Poppypaw, earning the name Fogcloud. They knew it was likely a reference to their distant and solitary nature, but they didn't mind. At least now, when they were alone, they were at peace with who they were, and for the first time since they were a kit the world just felt right. Or at least, it had, until Lionstride's sudden passing. The loss of their father tore a massive hole in Fogcloud's short-lived euphoria, and they have currently dedicated themself to being there to emotionally support their sister and brother. Becoming that base layer of support has been how they have coped with their own grief, as well as pouring themself into their work as a warrior.

SPECIAL SKILLS
[attr="class","cp cp-sunflower"] NATURAL KNOWLEDGE
Pros: Fogcloud harbours an innate interest in the plants and flowers that grow around them, and tends to know a thing or two about them. They'll be able to identify which plants are dangerous or poisonous, or which are potential healing herbs. They can also use this knowledge in terms of figuring out which prey live where, for example, they know what sorts of grasses water voles prefer.
Cons: Unfortunately, Fogcloud's knowledge of plants does not extend to healing herbs. They might know a simple fact such as "wild garlic is a medicine of some sort", but will not know how to effectively use it. They aren't a medicine cat, and that can show when it really comes down to vital plant knowledge. They might recognise an ash tree or a blackberry bush that has yet to flower, but ultimately this knowledge does not help when a cat is in trouble.

SPECIAL WEAKNESSES
[attr="class","cp cp-broken-heart"] GENDER DYSPHORIA
Pros: The opposite of dysphoria, of course, is euphoria. When validated by those who care about them, Fogcloud feels content and appreciative. If you respect their identity and pronouns as that of not a she-cat, they will immediately take a liking to you and it will set you both off to a good start. If you want to make a good impression on this more-solitary feline, the bare minimum would be this.
Cons: When misgendered, even accidentally, it can cause them a great amount of anxiety and distress. Intentional disrespect will be begrudged, and they find it very difficult to trust anyone that does not take them seriously. Dismissal of their identity or their experiences will cause them to lose respect for you, and it will be very difficult to regain it. There are also times where they will resent their own reflection, the calico markings on their face making them look noticeably "female". They sometimes smear clay over their cream patches to try and obscure these markings and make them look considerably more gender-neutral.
