APPEARANCE A long-furred gray-and-white tabby she-cat with yellow eyes. Ivyflare has a rather sturdy frame for a she-cat, but and it's not because her fur makes her look bigger either. She has long, thick fur, with most of her pelt covered in rich gray tabby markings, with a silvery gray accenting the darker grays. Her chest fur and belly is completely white, along with her front toes, and her back paws. She very much resembles her mother in this way, who was a gray tabby with white paws. Ivyflare's muzzle is also white, with the rest of her face striped with those gray tabby markings. She has very long whiskers, and very intense yellow eyes, complete with a pink nose. Ivyflare is very much her own cat, and has such an unusual and contrary personality that some wonder how she ever became a warrior at all. She is incredibly independent to the point of loathing the company of others, and sometimes reflects aloud that she would've been better off born as a loner or a rogue. Though she appears to hate being sent out on patrols with others, it never affects her performance when hunting or patrolling the borders for her Clan. She routinely offers snarky, deadpan commentary to any given situation, and often displays a dark sense of humor when forced to converse with her Clanmates. She is, most of all, uncaring and unemotional and strives to appear this way; when others attempt draw an emotional reaction out of her, she resorts to dishing out threats she has no intention of carrying out. It's due to this, and the fact she often makes dark commentary, that most cats have drawn the conclusion that this is just Ivyflare's personality, because despite all of this, she has never once lost her temper or lashed out at anyone - which seems to say, more than anything else, that she is just being herself and has no ill will toward anyone whatsoever. Although Ivyflare tries very hard to maintain a certain threatening aesthetic, she has some very strong positive traits as well. Her independence coupled with her pride makes her a reliable warrior to send out on her own for accomplishing any task assigned to her - whether it's to quickly fetch an herb for the medicine cats when they have their paws full, or to catch a bird for a particularly grouchy, picky elder. She's also very clever, and sometimes contradicts her aloof front when she offers surprisingly intelligent, creative insight to a situation nobody had yet thought of. Whenever this happens though, she tries her very best to bury any part she had in the idea, since the last thing she wants is to have the responsibility of being a mentor, or worse - have any kind of leadership role whatsoever. Ivyflare has a tendency to be very direct and assertive, and has such high confidence in herself that she continues to naturally owe evidence to the concept she would excel as a mentor despite her insistence she would not. Deep down, even when Ivyflare tries her very best to be the most careless warrior in the Clan, she has incredible loyalty to those around her in spite of her attitude, and consistently strives to not let anyone down. BIRTH & KITHOOD Ivykit and Hollykit were the second litter of Cedarheart and Creektail, conceived shortly after the illness that stole away the life of a daughter in their first litter. After giving birth to two daughters yet again, Creektail seemed incredibly intent on doing good by them, and was a very overbearing and caring mother during their kithood. The two sisters, for their part, were a dream to take care of, both being very healthy and causing little trouble outside of what was expected from the typical kit. Both of them came into apprenticeship with little hassle, and thus their mentors had no expectation for how they'd be as apprentices. APPRENTICESHIP Hollypaw was given a rather young and lax mentor, while Ivypaw was given a very stubborn, closed-off senior warrior as a mentor. He took no attitude (though Ivypaw had none to offer at that time), and was very direct when it came to mentoring her: What he said had to be done without complaint, and that was that. In the first days of her apprenticeship, Ivypaw didn't love having him as a mentor, but respected him nonetheless, and refused to badmouth him with her sister as she glowed about her mentor, and seemed to prod for any complaints Ivypaw had about her much older, grouchier mentor. In a strange show of loyalty to him she hadn't expected to possess, Ivypaw defended him to her sister, and in that moment realized she respected him a great deal. WARRIORHOOD After being named Ivyflare, for her bright, often memorable, flares of her unusual personality and wit on patrols, she began a very typical life as a warrior of her Clan. Once the first moon passed and the novelty of it faded away, the she-cat found herself bored of the duties of a warrior, and expressed her boredom through snarky commentary as she was sent out on patrol after patrol after patrol. After having many experiences like this with Ivyflare, her Clanmates went from being bewildered by her attitude, to faintly amused by it, as they seemed to be aware that her contrary behavior meant very little at the end of the day, since she had a reputation for being very hard-working despite expressing her passionate desire to be a loner every half-moon or so. By now, most cats know that even though Ivyflare acts like she doesn't want to be there, she cares (secretly) very much about the welfare of her Clan, and would go to great lengths to protect her Clanmates. |
