APPEARANCE A small light brown she-cat with dark face, ears, tail, and paws, and bright blue eyes. Briarpaw is a beautiful young she-cat, and she's smugly aware of that. Her form is small, and though she has some time yet to grow, she won't grow much more beyond where she is now. Her figure will instead become more lean and sleek as she ages, losing the fluffiness of her kithood, and looking more like an adult cat as the moons go on. Her fur will never become long, but instead will grow thicker, forever in that unchanging smooth light-brown shade, with seemingly purposeful patches of dark brown on her face like a mask, along with her ears, paws, and tail. She has no scars to speak of (yet), though she's very excited to earn some. Her bright, breathtaking blue eyes are her most prominent feature, which are usually dancing with mischief. AGE 11 moons GENDER & SEXUALITY she-cat, unknown sexuality CLAN & RANK lightningclan apprentice FACE CLAIM sheila | BRIARPAW PERSONALITY
Briarpaw has a true love for life, and it's often this quality that makes her less-savory traits more tolerable - simply because her enthusiasm can be difficult to resist for too long. She's rarely in an off mood, and can typically be counted on to lighten the mood in almost any situation; whether it's to drop a witty comment, or cause some of the mischief she's best known for, she's sometimes known as the comic relief of her Clanmates. She's not a clown though, or on the hunt for trouble by any means, she's actually surprisingly earnest and usually has good intentions, she just sometimes enjoys keeping those intentions vague for her own amusement and others'. She loves attention though, and will seize it at every opportunity, which has sometimes earned her the label of being annoying to older cats. But she doesn't mind taking the consequences, making games out of chores and managing somehow, to enjoy herself and get things done efficiently. She's creative in that way, which would make her a brilliant innovator, and it would be easy to pry some leadership qualities out of her. However, it's obvious she's not nearly mature enough for any cat to dream that of her, and to make her a warrior anytime soon would likely be a mistake. She has a lot to learn, and it's not just maturity; she's notorious for being careless and easily distracted when learning new hunting and battling moves, and seems very nearly bored by it all. She's in desperate need of a reality check, and to learn some greater respect for the rules and traditions of her Clan, of which she has no qualm in expressing her skepticism. She openly questions StarClan and their plans/intentions, and often fancies herself above the rules at times, which has rightfully earned her some punishments. HISTORY
BIRTH Briarkit was born in the depths of leafbare alongside her stillborn brother, Rushkit. Both kits came too early, and though Tawnywing had an incredibly taxing kitting, she managed to nurse her surviving kit to health when the medicine cat predicted she may not live to see dawn. To the medicine cat's credit, Briarkit nearly didn't make it through that first quarter-moon, but after that her health saw a sharp curve skyward, and everyone lay their worries to rest. The tiny kit wasn't actually named until then. KITHOOD It didn't take long for Briarkit to form a distinct personality of her own, and it seemed to surprise everyone she encountered. She was an energetic kit, especially for one in the middle of leafbare, and often she got underneath other cats' paws as soon as she launched her escape from the nursery each morning. Tawnywing fussed that she'd get trampled, but her mate Addertail kept an eye on her each time she made her escape, and reported to the queen that the last thing that'd happen to their kit would be getting trampled on. She was startlingly quick, and had incredible natural reflexes that almost appeared accidental; rolling from one dramatic to the next with a fiendish grin. Cats around the outside of the nursery quickly lost worry of tripping over the kit, for she was in perfect control of herself. APPRENTICESHIP When it came time for Briarkit to be apprenticed, her mentor was chosen very carefully. She was known throughout the Clan for being one of the most rambunctious kits that'd ever been set upon the camp, and had shifted from being a harmless, if mischievous, kit to being an agent of chaos, practically a terror at times. Her parents were even more desperate than she was for her to become an apprentice, knowing she was bored silly of being stuck in the camp all the time, and the cats that guarded the hollow were equally sick of keeping her inside of it. She begged the deputy, and even the leader, to make her an apprentice early, but nobody was going to break tradition, particularly not for a pain-in-the-tail kit. So Briarkit became Briarpaw when she came upon six moons, and she was apprenticed to possibly the only cat that could handle her, Lynxfire. |
