LightningClan || 66 Moons || Senior Warrior
Evening was falling over the valley, though despite the lowering of the sun it didn't lessen the heat or humidity of the day. The air was muggy and it made racing around on the moors that much more of a chore. Only the occasional, fresh breeze rolling through the grasses made it bearable.
The lanky feline made her way through the entrance to Lightningclan's open camp, tail flickering behind her as a young hare dangled from her jaws. She had been awake since the sun rose over the high walls of the valley, handing out duties and assigning patrols for the day.
She continued to send level headed and calmer tempered cats towards the Treeclan border, as well as using tunnelers to travel back and forth towards the borders during the heat of the day.
As her patrol dispersed off into different directions, she gave a nod to Lightningpaw as her apprentice headed to the Nursery to deliver fresh prey. The Deputy would be returning to the soft comfort of the same den later that night to curl around her growing kits. She'd listen to their stories and adventures for the day before teaching them another needed lesson that would aid them later on in life.
Wide amber pools found the fluffy, ginger form of her brother as the leader of Lightningclan sat outside his den while quietly watching over his clan. The lowering sun sent rays of light across the valley, giving a small glow to Redstar's statue like form. Nimble paws swiftly led the gray pelted deputy to where her brother waited.
Dropping her rabbit, Owlmind dipped her head in respect towards her brother before lowering her haunches into a sitting position, long tail wrapping around her paws. "Brought you dinner." She said in her normal raspy voice, something that she noticed her daughter, Goosekit, had inherited.
Flicking a large ear, the lanky she-cat let her amber gaze scan around the clearing. Cats were laying about in the last rays of light, sharing tongues and food. Apprentices finished up their chores and duties for the evening, and the sounds of kits rose from the Nursery. The partial queen could easily point out the three voices of Greenkit, Goosekit and Goldenkit.
"Treeclan's border remains quiet." Owlmind stared, her gaze yet to return to her brother for the time being as it slowly moved about the camp. At the turn of the season the gray pelted feline had led a patrol to peacefully move the scent lines and reclaim territory that the two clans had shared for a while. She doubted there would be much of a fight from their neighbors while they had their own, larger problems with Nightclan.
Dirty laundry aired at the Gathering aided in Lightningclan's beginning to a new Era.
"I'm pleased with the training Nightstep had been aiding to our cats. A necessary evil should we get dragged into war." Yes, warriors tended to learn how to battle and protect themselves, but recently Lightningclan had increased battle training, even well seasoned warriors were sharping their skills should the valley be thrown into chaos.
Finally those wide eyes turned towards Redstar, studying him for a moment before speaking again. "Nothing like a boring report to end the day?" Her whiskers twitched in slightly amusement as she made a dry joke within that raspy tone of hers, only her eyes didn't reflect that similar amusement.

Wisdom. Courage. Strategy.
