Clan: None
Rank: Loner
--Future Ranks: Warrior
Description
Description Summary: Orange and black-dappled she-cat with a young face, a distinct blaze marking, and yellow-green eyes
Description: Upon first glance, one would think that Onyx was about Apprentice age. Her face is somewhat small and angled and her ears are large on her head. Those things, in addition to her large eyes and relatively small body, she is kinda like a young teen in her prime. Her legs are long below her, making her slightly taller than the average cat. Her tail is a bit longer than average and her paws are a little bit bigger than one would expect.
In terms of outer appearance and coat, her primary fur color is a bright shade of orange resembling fire. Her fur is dappled all over her body in midnight black patches of fur, including a few small patches on her muzzle, her ears, and a very distinct blaze that goes upwards from her nose. She also has a white chest, stomach, and her front right paw. Her nose are a deep red with a small corner of black and her eyes are large, round, and are a very bright shade of what seems like a mix of green, yellow, and orange. Her outer eyes look sort of green, the main color is yellow, and around her pupil there are small orange spots. Her appearance could hypnotize others.

Because of her past and the way that she was trained from a young age, Onyx could almost be seen by others as more of a servant than a regular member or cat. When she is "on duty", she holds her head high, stands perfectly straight, and only looks straight ahead of her. When she isn't, she tends to cower down from the eyes of others, doesn't look anyone in the eye, and sees herself as lower than just about everyone. She pretty much never thinks about her own feelings and does as she is told by whoever is in charge at that moment. She dedicates her attention to the health and well-being of whoever it is that she has devoted her loyalty to at that time and doesn't focus on herself at all. It is almost as though she doesn't see herself or her life as important and is more concerned on someone else at every moment. She doesn't fully understand regular feelings such as love or hate, and even if she did understand them, she wouldn't know how to express them at all or how to handle them or even what they mean. She sees herself only as a servant to someone else and will protect whoever that is with her life.

It isn't uncommon for there to be more clans than just those in the Valley of Fate, even if the five clans don't know it. It also wouldn't be uncommon for those other clans and tribes to have different beliefs. A few mountains away in a distant valley where a few other clans roam, this story begins in what was called Tigerclan. This clan was somewhat similar to a regular clan, but with a few differences.
Tigerclan information:
Tigerclan was similar to what this valley knows as a mix of Lightningclan and Treeclan. Their territory was covered in both a few small meadows and a large portion of forest.
It is honestly unknown as to what these cats believed in spiritual wise, or if they believed in anything similar to Starclan or not. It's possible they didn't have any sort of beliefs.
They had a few different ranks. Of course, they had the same ranks as what our current clans have, plus a few extras. They had one Leader, one Deputy, two Medicine Cats, two Med. Cat Apprentices, Guards, Warriors, Apprentices, Mothers, Kits, Elders, and Prisoners. Guards were the cats who were assigned to the high ranked cats in order for protection. The Leader typically had one or two Guards and there were usually two Guards for the Medicine Cats. Once a cat was assigned as a Guard, which was seen as an honor among the clan, they had a set of expectations. The cat was to devote their life to whichever rank they were assigned to protect and see themselves as the shadow of that cat, never seeing themselves as more. If a Guard was to have a family, the Guard was to choose one of their kits to replace them as a Guard when they got old enough. Once that kit was chosen to be a Guard, they were trained strictly as a Guard and weren't allowed to ever change their rank or protest their new future.
Unlike our clans, these clans had one thing in particular that was different. Kits didn't start training at 6 moons. They started at 4. And they didn't become Warriors or whatever rank they were meant to be at 12 moons. They became that rank only when they were seen as talented enough to old that rank. In some cases it was possible for a cat to be an Apprentice for half their life if they never truly dedicated themselves to being that rank.

It was in this clan that the protagonist of this story was born. Firetel, a faithful Guard of the Leader, and Lopek, a gentle and kind Warrior, produced two little she-cats known as Onyx and Caprine. Firetel was to choose one of these daughters to replace him when he no longer could serve their Leader. He waited a moon to see what their personalities would begin to develop into. Caprine was playful, friendly, and jumpy while Onyx was quiet, obedient, and inquisitive. Seeing as Guard's were trained to pretty much be emotionless and never focus on themselves, Onyx was chosen to be the future Guard. Caprine quickly grew jealous of this when she was taught how becoming a Guard was an honor, so there were tensions between the two sisters.
During Onyx's training, she was taught many things. Never see yourself as anything more than the protector of the Leader. Never focus on yourself before them. Never defy the Leader. Never associate yourself with a Warrior unless it is for purposes of making the next replacement. Defend the Leader with every ounce of your life and never stop fighting for them, no matter how tired or injured you become.
These ways of life were all, for the most part, cruel to teach a young cat. But Onyx's fate had been chosen for her. Even if she didn't want to live this way, which was unknown, she had no choice. One thing to be noted was that, in honesty, the cats of Tigerclan were relatively the same. Most of them had stripes or some sort of tabby marking. Some of them were solid colors. But other than that, there wasn't much else. So, as you can presume when seeing her Appearance, Onyx was a gem. Many of the young toms her age sought for her and there were even a few younger Warriors who wished she would grow quicker. They all knew the requirements. They knew that some day Onyx would need a replacement. They wanted to provide that for her. Because of all the attention from the toms that Onyx received, this only chased Caprine away from her more.
Finally, after a lot of training and work, Onyx became an official Guard of the Leader when she was 15 moons. As was customary with the other Guards, Onyx was sent on a small trip with the Leader to determine whether or not she was fit to defend him on her own. Unknown to them, Caprine followed in the shadows. She wanted to get her sister demoted. Not because she loved her sister or wanted her to live a better life, but because she didn't want anyone to see her as high and mighty just because their father chose her or because she was pretty. As Onyx and the Leader walked along the fast-paced river of the clan territory, Caprine suddenly burst from the foliage, slamming herself into Onyx, who in turn slammed into the Leader. Onyx suddenly hung from the edge of the shore, holding on for dear life, but she realized. The Leader was in the water. There was one trait that all of the cats of Tigerclan knew about their Leader. He couldn't swim. Onyx suddenly let go of the shore. Despite her own lack of talent with swimming, she could still keep herself moving and above the water. She went after the Leader, watching as he bobbed below and above the surface of the water. She managed to get a hold of him and was able to get to the shore, but he was a large cat and she was somewhat small, so pulling him out of the water wasn't going to be as easy as pulling him through it. Caprine had rushed back to camp, getting a group of Warriors to follow her to the river. When they arrived, the Leader was mostly out of the water and laying on the ground motionless. Onyx was exhausted, but she still tried to pull him further. She even insisted that she be the one to carry the large tom to camp, but she was not fit for that. He would crush her. When they returned to camp, Caprine was the first to speak up.
"I was there! I saw it! I saw Onyx shove him into the water even though everyone knows he can't swim! When she saw me watching was when she tried to save him! She can't be trusted to protect him!"
No one wanted to believe that Onyx would purposely do that. But they had nothing else to go for. Plus, Onyx had just become his Guard, so there was that suspicion that she wasn't fully devoted. Caprine thought she had won. She thought that Onyx would be demoted and that everything would be okay. But then she realized what she hadn't realized before. Technically, she had just caused their Leader to almost drown. Her framing Onyx meant that now the rest of the clan thought Onyx tried to drown him. That, and the current Deputy, who absolutely hated Firetel and any cat that was associated with him, was now in control until their Leader gained consciousness and was back up in health. The Deputy shouted to the whole clan that Onyx had tried to kill their Leader despite being born to protect him, committing treason against the clan. He, as the temporary Leader, banished Onyx. She tried to protest, but she was shot down. Caprine tried to stand up for her sister without getting herself caught up in her lie, but she was also Firetel's daughter, so she was shot down as well.
Onyx, knowing she had no choice, was escorted out of the territory. She wanted to go back. She needed to. But she couldn't. She couldn't return until the Leader was back. Every time she tried to return, she was chased off. Finally, she knew they wouldn't take her back. Even if the Leader was awake, the rest of the clan refused her. So she left. She began to walk in a random direction and hardly ever stopped walking. She would occasionally stop to rest, hunt, and get a drink, but the rest of the time she was walking. This continued on for 2 moons.
Now, the now 17 moon old Onyx finds herself in the Valley of Fate.
Other: I intend for her to join a clan, but I don't know which yet.
