Ghostkit was bored. His sisters were napping in the crook of their mother's belly, in the warmth and comfort she provided them. He wriggled away, nobody even stirring due to their sleep.

He looked over at his den-mate, Wrenkit. She was awake. She was also bored.

"Wrenkit, want to go see the warriors with me?"

He was excited to go on this mini adventure, not at all nervous; though they were the same age, he would protect Wrenkit with his life should he need to. She reminded him of his sisters - small and fragile. (though of course, he himself was small and fragile, but he was a tom, therefore would protect anyone.)

Wrenkit heard Ghostkit and took a moment to consider what he said. Going to see the warriors, she had to admit, did sound fun. It would get her away from her mother for a few moments. She got up, stretching, then plodded over to Ghostkit, gently butting his shoulder with her head in a gesture of greeting. 

"Absolutely! Let's go! What about them?" 

Wrenkit gestured with her tail toward Crowkit and Graykit who were still fast asleep. 

Ghostkit shook his head. 

Together the two headed into the main camp.

Sootfeather yawned as she padded into the camp, worn out from a patrol and hungry. Food first, then a nap. Yes, that sounded good. Shaking out her fur, the young she-cat separated from her Clanmates and headed for the fresh-kill pile, looking it over and then selecting a squirrel. Carrying it away toward the warriors' den, she paused at the sight of the two kits also heading in that direction.

Blinking, the night-black warrior set her prey at her paws. "You two! I'd stay away from there if I were you; cranky warriors won't appreciate being woken by nosy kits. Do your mothers know you're out here?" The weather wasn't great for two small kits, and especially now, their chance of getting chilled increased. "Come sit with me," she invited- better to have them with her than alone. Some other cat might hustle them back into the nursery; Sootfeather changed her course and headed for the elders' den.

She could get something to eat later. Surely the elders wouldn't mind sharing the squirrel with the kits, and it was warm and dry inside. "Such bold kits," she purred, guiding the two along. "Going out in this weather. I bet you'll both be very keen apprentices when the time comes!"

Ghostkit and Wrenkit were delighted. 

"We're gonna go see the elders? Cool!" Wrenkit was bouncing around, despite the chill and the warmth permeating from Sootfeather as the two kits were curled near to the elder cat. She was keeping herself warm, the only way she knew how. Being as boisterous as possible. She was looking forward to seeing the elders. They had stories and were always happy to see her, regardless of how bad a day they had had or were having. Wrenkit even liked to think she made their day a little better. Wrenkit burst into the elder's den, full of chatter and hyperactivity.

Ghostkit followed more sedately. Yes, he reflected, she really is just like my sisters. I hope her tireless energy continues as the weather gets colder.

Suddenly realising just how cold it was, Ghostkit fluffed up his fur. He looked almost comical, the small tom with the fluffiness heading slowly and calmly into the elder's den. 

As a thought, before he went properly into the den, he ran back into the main body of the camp, intent on picking up some more fresh-kill. One squirrel, Sootfeather's catch, Ghostkit decided, would not be enough to feed them all. He'd get in practice for when he was an apprentice and looking after the elders was one of his main duties, and take them some more fresh-kill. 

He stopped by the pile, looking for the tastiest looking piece he could find. 

Happy with the prey he picked up, he returned to the elder's den... just in time to hear Wrenkit pestering the elders.

"Please, tell us stories! Please please please?! It's so booooring in the nursery! the only fun one is Ghostkit. He's the only one who includes me in his games. Tell me the story about how awesome NightClan is, when it was called... I think it was ShadowClan? Tell me that story!"
