Hopfrog was so excited about finally getting an apprentice of his own! He could barely sleep the night before cause her was so excited to start teaching. He had found the perfect place to start his tour of the forest. 'I wonder if LightningClan will be there today...' he thought as he headed out of his den a little after the sun began to rise. He gave his pelt a couple more licks then stuck his head into the apprentice den. "Hey Dovepaw you here?" he mewed quietly in case someone was sleeping. Pulling his head out he sat down to clean himself while he waited.

Upon hearing her mentor's voice, she twitched an ear to let him know she had heard and sat up in her nest. Yawning, she stood and shook herself to rid her pelt of any loose moss. She had been dreaming about racing across their territory, just running free, like the wind. Shaking herself once more, this time to clear her head of her dreams in order to focus on whatever Hopfrog might teach her today, she padded out of the hollow branch that served as the apprentices' den. Glancing up at Hopfrog, she blinked the sleep from her eyes and it was quickly replaced by excitement at her first day of training, "What are we doing today!?"

"Well I thought we'd start by showing you around, so you don't get lost, and tell you about which clans are where and what to expect from them." He said trying to keep his tone level to seem more adult like. "Ready?" he asked excitement leaking into his voice. Once they got out into the forest he couldn't hold back the child in him much longer. "First we'll head towards LightningClan border, we have to keep a good watch there because they think the forest is theirs." while he talked he started to jog towards the border, he flicked his telling her to follow.

"Okay!" She nodded happily as he asked if she was ready and loped after him as he left camp. She did her best to keep close to him in order to hear anything he might say. When he told her where they were going and how LightningClan thought the forest was theirs, she tilted her head slightly. "But... why would they think that? The forest belongs to us, TreeClan, right?" She remembered hearing other warriors mumble about LightningClan before.
It didn't really make sense to Dovepaw, if someone picked up a mouse from the freshkill pile, you didn't go up to them an take it. It was theirs. Then again, she didn't really understand why the Clans couldn't just share the territory. Everyone caught freshkill and brought it back to camp, and then they put it in one big pile. From there, any cat could come up and take whatever piece they wanted, whether they caught it or not. Couldn't they share territory like they shared freshkill? Shaking her head to rouse herself form her thoughts, she waited for Hopfrog to answer, wondering if he should ask him about sharing territory like she wanted the Clans to do....

"Well..." he never thought that she's ask such a question so he was unprepared. "Each clan has there own type of territory. For example we have mostly think forest for are territory but the trees get less and less as you go towards the LightningClan border. So that's why LightningClan thinks they have a right to it, but it's on our land so it's ours." he explained it the best he could, he's never been so good at explaining things. He never really understood why we couldn't all have territory and not have to worry about who's land is who's but it's the work of StarClan so it must be important. "See look up at the trees." he said pointing with his tail. The trees are getting less and less so more light comes in. You see?" he said as he slowed. They were almost to the border now.
Shall LightningClan come?

Dovepaw listened closely as Hopfrog answered her question. She nodded to show she was listening and when he pointed out that the trees were thinning she looked around to see he was right, "So... there's not a clear place that the cats can say one territory stops? That's the problem?" She blinked up at him, her jade green gaze shining with innocent intelligence.
Just then Lynxfur appeared leading a small patrol of LightningClan cats, including herself, Lightningbolt, and Emberpaw. She stiffened as she saw the two TreeClan cats, her tail lashing once as she padded toward them along the border. "Thinking of crossing the border, TreeClanners, to steal more of out prey?" she spat, her fur bristling.
Beside her, Emberpaw looked eagerly across the border at Dovepaw, not caring too much that the rival cats might have been about to cross the border or not, but excited to see another apprentice and wanting to shat with her. For now, she held her tongue, though, afraid to get yelled at by one of the warriors.

"Exac-" he cut himself off so he could get another whiff of air. 'LIGHTNINGCLAN' he thought aloud. He quickly tried to hide Dovepaw behind himself with his tail. Right then he heard the voice of one of there warriors, he guessed. "How dare you accuse me of stealing your prey when I'm so far from the border." Hopfrog proclaimed his fur begging to bristle. 'Calm down you have to set a good example for Dovepaw' he thought trying to get his fun flat.
Lightningbolt was on a patrol with Lynxfur and Emberpaw. He smelled TreeClan. Apparently Lynxfur did to cause she started talking to them. He thought she was going a little far accusing them right off the bat, but she was a warrior longer she knew best.

Dovepaw's eyes widened slightly as the she-cat accused them of stealing prey. Instead of getting angry, however, she stepped up beside Hopfrog and proudly stated, "Its my first day of training! Hopfrog is showing me around our territory!" Her jade green gaze sparkled with innocent excitement.
Lynxfur seemed a bit taken aback by how friendly the small white apprentice seemed, and her bristling pelt flattened as her whiskers twitched in amusement. Her tail twitching once, she turned back the way they had come. "See that you stay on your side of the border," though her voice held none of the venom it previously did, and was more a friendly reminder as she beckoned for her Clanmates to follow her as she continued along the border.
Emberpaw looked disappointed and waved her tail back at Dovepaw before following after Lynxfur, hoping she would get to see the TreeClan apprentice at the next gathering.
Dovepaw watched them go, somewhat sad to see them leave and not get to talk with them a little more. It was her first encounter with cats from another Clan. Looking up at Hopfrog, she asked, "Why did she think we were stealing prey? We're not even hunting... and we're on our side of the border... aren't we?"

"Yes we are on are side of the border very much so." he said staring in amazement after the LightningClan cats. "But they didn't know they weren't hunting we could have been they wouldn't have known. But anyways let me show you how to find the border." he walked forward till he was about two paw steps away from it. "Smell. See if you can smell anything." he said looking back at her.

Dovepaw padded up beside him and opened her mouth to instinctively to draw the scent over the roof of her mouth, all the better to remember the scent. Her nose twitched slightly and she sneezed at the heavy scent of grass mingled with unhampered wind. It wasn't unpleasant, but it tickled her nose. She gave a happy mrrow as she looked up at Hopfrog, "That's LightningClan scent?" She then rubbed her nose with her paw, trying to get rid of the tickly feeling, "It makes my nose feel funny." Looking up at Hopfrog again, she asked, "Where are we going next?"

"Yes perfect that is LightningClan scent." he said laughing with her. 'Where shall we go next...' he thought to himself 'oh i know how bout the NightClan border.' "Ok we're going to head towards the NightClan border but at the same time were going to go hunting. See what you know" Hopfrog said. 'Yes my first real teaching opportunity!' he thought excitedly. He started walking in the NightClan direction.

Dovepaw's ears pricked with excitement at the mention of being able to hunt. She had always watched the apprentices practice their stalking skills from the nursery when she was little and tried to copy them. She couldn't wait to catch her first prey! Happily, she followed after her mentor. She was glad that Honeystar had chosen Hopfrog as her mentor, he seemed really nice and she already liked him. Glancing around, she was glad she had such a white pelt, she could blend in with the snow really well. No cat could probably even see her if she laid down and closed her eyes... she'd just look like a lump of snow. Her whiskers twitching with amusement, she did her best to keep up with Hopfrog as they bounded through the snow.

Bluekit walked happily through the snow-covered forest. It was hard for Ravenstar to let a lonesome kit out of the camp, but she finally gave in and let her take a walk. "Come back if you see anything suspicious!" is what Ravenstar said as Bluekit walked out of her den and into the forest. The kits in the camp where play-fighting again, pretending that NightClan was having a battle with he other three Clans. It made Bluekit angry; why pretend to know how your fighting, instead of actually learning some new fighting skills from others?!
Bluekit shook the snowflakes of her head, as it started snowing again. The snow was so interesting, wet and cold, but white and soft. It reminded Bluekit of the queens in the nursery. She reached the border of NightClan territory and TreeClan territory, and sat dow. It feels good getting out, she thought, and getting away from those cats, who don't even speak to me.. She layed down in the snow and rested her head on her paws, and watched the scenery.

"Well the clan needs to be feed lets get going!" Hopfrog said wanting to get his paws moving through the snow. On there way there Hopfrog caught a rabbit and 2 shrews. "Once your done there lets get going to the border i still have more to teach you." He said Turing to watch her barring her prey. As they walked to the border he say a little patch of grey fur lying on the other side of the border. "Hello? You okay?" he asked the little grey blob.

After watching Hopfrog stalk his prey, she thought she'd try it, though she was nervous about it. It was her first time out for a real hunt. A little gray-brown streak shot past a foxlength ahead and paused under a scrawny bush, hunting it's store of seeds. Dovepaw's ears pricked in excitement on sight of the mouse and she crept forward slowly and carefully, as she had seen Hopfrog do. Her paws came down gently in the snow and it seemed she was moving even more agonizingly slow than she would without the snow, careful not to crunch it beneath her paws and alert the mouse to her presence.
At one point she stepped a bit too heavily and small crunch did occur. She froze as the mouse looked up, its beady eyes darting around to find the source of the sound. When it seemed satisfied that nothing was around, Dovepaw breathed a sigh of relief that she blended in so well with the snow and took only a few more steps before she was close enough and leapt! With a swift bite to the neck, she killed the mouse before it knew what was happening and trotted back to Hopfrog, carrying it by the tail proudly. Her first hunt had been a success! Her jade green eyes gleamed happily and she followed her mentor as he continued to the NightClan border with a newfound warmth flowing into from her nose to her tail tip.
When Hopfrog spoke, she looked across the border to see a little gray cat sitting there. She couldn't be more than a kit! Slightly alarmed that a kit was out in the snow by herself, she padded forward a pace, "Do you need help? Are you hurt?" Her eyes were wide with worry for kit, though she wasn't much younger than Dovepaw herself. Dovepaw had a special soft spot for kits, even at her young age.
