Hissing frustration, Dark kneaded the ground beneath his paws, his amber gaze narrowed into the distance. "Clan cats!" he snarled. He blinked and looked over as his mate rubbed against him, purring softly, "Dark, I'm so glad you're safe! I'm sorry I ran away... I didn't know what else to do...." She looked down sorrowfully. He rasped a tongue over her ear in reassurance, "Its fine, Rin. I'm glad you ran away or else you could have gotten hurt."
Dark lashed his tail once in anger at the thought of some mouse-brained Clan cat hurting his mate. Rin had been born a kittypet and wasn't as used to fighting and living in the mountains as he was. He had to protect her from other cats most of the time because she didn't have very good fighting skills, but at least she was an excellent hunter to make up for it, "C'mon... we wanna reach MountainClan don't we?" He nudged her affectionately and padded onward, further into TreeClan territory, since it was quicker to pass through Clan territory than try to go all the way around to get to MountainClan's camp.
"But, Dark... we barely got to eat before those other cats found us... I'm hungry...." He nodded and she dropped into a hunting crouch, opening her mouth to scent the air and catching a whiff of mouse not far away. Within a few moment she padded back to him, "Its not much, but we can still share if you want." He shook his head and sat, waiting for her to eat. He was more used to an empty belly than she was. Happily she crouched and began to devour the mouse.

Honeystar looked up at the sky. It was about sun-high, a good time for a stroll. Leafscar had wanted her to get out of the camp for a while, as she had been in their for a while now, and he would look over things. She trusted him, and left camp. She decided to patrol the borders. She was close to the NightClan border when a certain stench of a cat hit her nose. She stood for a minute, and when she reliezed that it wasn't a NightClan cat. She ran towards the stench, and caught sight of two rouges. In her Clan territory. She pulled her lips back into a snarl, and let loose a growl. She got into position, and sprung for the tomcat.

As a cat suddenly landed on him, Dark yowled in surprise. They were just getting attacked all over today! Snarling his fury, he rolled with the impact and attempted to push the other cat up and off of him.
Rin yowled as well, leaping up from her mouse which was only half eaten. Swallowing her current mouthful, she shifted from paw to paw, trying to judge if she should leap in or not, after all, it was only one cat. Surely Dark could handle it himself. If he couldn't she was of course willing to help, but she wasn't good at fighting and certainly didn't enjoy it. Dark seemed to revel in a good battle at times, which scared her a bit. She'd seen him kill a cat before.

Honeystar held the cat down. The soft, topaz eyes she had usually had were gone, and in their place, was cold, furious, black eyes. The scent was strong, and smelled disgusting. What were these rouges doing here?! Honeystar let up the cat, only to swipe at it. "What are you doing in my territory?" she coldly asked. She was ready to fight this cat if he wanted it. No cat was going to step in TreeClan territory and get out of it without a punishment.

Dark only smacked her paw away after she let him up only to swipe at him, growling deep in his throat, his amber eyes flashing. He bared his teeth in a snarl and took a step back so that he was in front of Rin. He felt no need to explain himself to one cat. Back in NightClan, he had been outnumbered, but here, it was a fair fight. He was larger than this she-cat, he was pretty sure he could take her down if he wanted, "Let us pass, and I won't kill you." His eyes gleamed as if he really wanted her to say no to the offer. Though part of him did want to just go, since it would be safer for Rin. He could always tell her to run if things turned for the worse.

Honeystar sat down, still glaring at the cat. He was big, but no rouge could hurt her as much as she could hurt them. "You think you could kill me?" she said tauntingly. "You wouldn't make it. You have nine lives to kill." This rouge probably knew nothing of the Leaders special gift of nine lives. She stood back up. "You seem very protective of your mate," she noticed, glaring at the helpless she-cat. She took a step forward the cat's mate, to taunt him even more. She had learned the taunting skill as an apprentice, and always used it on rouges and trespassers.

Dark snarled at the she-cat as she took a step toward Rin and put himself squarely between the two cats. His pelt was bristling with anger as he glared at her, "Touch her and you'll need more than nine lives to save you!" His black tail lashed once in warning as he crouched in front of his mate, his eyes never leaving the she-cat before him. He knew about leaders and nine lives, he had been born in StoneClan, but he'd left because he didn't like being bossed around by cats like this one. He had been Darkheart then, but no more. He'd keep the name his mother gave him, Dark, but not the one his leader had.
Rin crouched slightly behind him, mewing softly, "Dark... please... let's just go.... I don't want you to get hurt." She also didn't want to see him kill another cat. Fighting might be necessary sometimes, but killing wasn't.... Though, Dark said that was the kittypet in her talking and that if she wanted to survive for very long as a rogue then she'd let it go. Dark didn't reply for a moment before his fur began to lie flat and he snorted annoyance, flicking his tail to touch Rin's pelt lightly. Glancing back at her, he nodded for her to run ahead and turned to keep himself between her and this Clan leader at all times while she fled. Reluctantly, she began to run the way they had been heading, looking back at him once before putting on full speed. She was quick on her paws, he had to give her that. He then turned back to the Clan cat, "We'll leave your lands... for now...." He smirked and turned the way Rin had gone, racing after her.

The she-cat was truly helpless, the only reason this annoying cat was protecting her. Before he ran away, Honeystar said, "If you ever come back, TreeClan will kill you and your mate." As he was running away, she spat at him. "Rotten piece of fox-dung!" she yelled after him. She ran after him, all the way to the LightningClan border. She then turned and headed back to camp. She walked straight to her den. "Leafscar, Jaypaw, meet me at my den. Now," she yelled to the camp, before walking into her den. Her eyes were still cold and furious, and she waited impatiently for the the deputy, and his apprentice, to come into her den.

The deputy was immidiately slipped into his leader's side, trying to make sense of the encounter. He would have fought, had Honeystar given the command, but something seemed odd. Was it just Leafscar's imagination, or were rouges seeming to appear more frequently?
His tawny pelt prickled at the thought, and the deputy's tail flicked to Jaypaw. "We'd better not lag."
Pacing with her until enetering the hollowed tree where they made camp, and finally to the leader's den. Leafscar settled down and pricked his ears, awaiting Honeystar's words. Most likely, trouble was arising.

It had only been a few hours before Jaypaw had awakened. He had finished training with his mentor, not to long ago. He heard the call for him to head to the leaders den and heard his mentor speak of getting a move on.
Jaypaw could be fearless in battle at times, but right now he would not be as serious as usual. He ran to catch up with his mentor, who was already at the den. He tried to get as serious as possible, and awaited the leaders next words.

Honeystar was sitting on her bed, when the deputy and his apprentice walked in. She was more annoyed than ever. "During my walk today," she started without a greeting, "I came across two cats. Rouges. The tom was a big cat, who obviously believes he can kill any cat that's in his way. His mate was a shy she-cat, who is defenseless and helpless. There have been reports from other Clans that rouges have invaded their territory as well. I want you, Leafscar, to report back to me if you smell anything strange. Jaypaw, you have more responsibility as a deputy's apprentice. You must also report back to me if you find something. Both of you may not tell anybody about this, even Dovepaw. Do I make myself clear?" She could hear the annoyance and coldness in her voice, and didn't care. She needed to show these two that she was down-right serious.

The warrior nodded solemly, letting a thoughtful expression flicker through his deep green eyes. It would not be easy to hide it from the Clan, but Leafscar would do his best. "What are your orders if the rouges persist on our land?"
Was curiousity a bad thing?
The deputy was interested to see what would happen, but his first duties were to TreeClan and Honeystar. "Jaypaw, she's right." Getting back up to his paws, Leafscar waited to be dismissed.

Jaypaw looked at first the leader as she was speaking. She looked very serious and moderately scary. He knew this was an important matter and he had to take it as serious as possible."Don't tell anyone..Don't tell anyone..Not even my sister...Not even my sister." He recited over and over in his mind. Finally,it clicked and realized this was a private matter that he had the honor of being involved in.
He heard his mentor ask the question and thought he sounded stupid."If the rouges persist in our land...We take them out for trespassing and stealing our prey." He said boldly. He believed this was the right answer. Even though Jaypaw was not the strongest cat,he was definitely one of the bravest.

Honeystar relaxed. She knew that these two would do there best to the Clan. "Jaypaw is right, Leafscar," she said, back to her regular voice. She stood up and brushed her tail on Leafscar's and Jaypaw's flank. "I thank you both from the bottom of my heart. Make me proud," she said. "You are dismissed," she said, laying down in her bed.
