Ravenstar dragged the plump rabbit with her to Mistheart's den. The rabbit was nearly as big as she was, considering Ravenstar's abnormally small size. Sure, it was disconcerting at times to always have to look up at her warriors and sometimes even apprentices, but seeing the shocked faces of those who met her for the first time to find out she wasn't just an apprentice, but indeed the leader of NightClan, was worth it to her. Also, it tended to give her cats hope that anything is possible, to see her, the runt of her litter, as leader.
Setting the rabbit, down and working her jaw a bit after carrying it's heavy weight to the medicine cat's den, she glanced around, tail twitching, and called, "Mistheart! Are you here? I've brought a rabbit for us to share, and Lunarpaw too, if she wants!" Her ears twitched slightly as she awaited a reply, hoping her friend had heard since she was somewhat hard of hearing.

The white apprentice scrambled away from the herbs she had been examining and made her way to sit across from Ravenstar. Her striped tail curled around her paws, waiting for her mentor to join her before the meal began. Simple curtousy.
But, a conversation would be different. "Ravenstar, will i have another fighting lesson soon?" She had promised Mistheart not to bother her cruel brothers, but it didn't mean she wouldn't like to maybe taunt them. Show off how she could match their skills; well, since Ravenstar was the one training her of course.

Watching Lunarpaw emerge and come to sit with her, Ravenstar blinked her amber eyes in acknowledgement and was about to ask if Mistheart would be coming when Lunarpaw posed a question first. Slightly amused, she purred softly and wrapped her silky black tail around her paws, covering her white front toes with it. "As soon as Mistheart has no need of you, you are welcome to come and find me for another training session. If I'm not overly preoccupied when you do, I'd be happy to continue where we left off last." Ravenstar rather enjoyed training Lunarpaw, even if it was just the basics so that she knew how to defend herself and Mistheart if she ever needed to. She would like to take on another apprentice of her own, but as long as there were warriors readily available and her duties as leader pressed upon her as they usually did, the prospect was not likely.

The grey and white she cat was in her den by her apprentices side when she heard the somewhat faint voice of her leader and friend, Ravenstar. But Mistheart knew that she wouldn’t be far away at all. Turning around her crystal blue eyes focused on the black she cat immediately and she greeted her with a smile before Lunarpaw ran off first.
Putting her last herbs in the correct place she padded over to join her apprentice. ’Good day Ravenstar!’ she purred. Out of all the Cats in the Clan she valued Ravenstar the most, and not just because she was the leader but because she was always readily available to talk to her about anything that was bothering her.
Listening to her apprentice talking about fighting training she couldn’t understand how she could enjoy it so much. Mistheart herself had refused to teach her how to fight as she saw it as the main problem with injuries and death. She truly believed that it would be much better if they could simply talk about their problems and cooperate altogether. ’Well I can finish off in here, we are almost done now anyway…’ She mewed listening to there discussion. Ravenstar blinked in slight surprise as Mistheart indirectly suggested that the training sesion be held now. Flicking her ears, glanced down at the rabbit, "I thought that you could both take a break and eat... it has been a while since I've had the time just to sit down and talk with you, Mistheart, and I was wondering about something...." She thought back to the patrol she had just come back from, and the two rogues. Her tail twitching in annoyance of the big tom's words as he ran away, she continued, her voice lowering slightly, though not too much since she wanted Mistheart to be able to hear her, "We chased off two rogues, and they mentioned something about 'MountainClan'.... You haven't received any word from StarClan about another Clan, have you?"
The thought of a sixth Clan was a bit worrying. First of all, where would their territory be? The valley was divided well enough for FIVE Clans, not six. Although if it was StarClan's will, then they would need to make room, she supposed, as much as she might not like it. But why would StarClan suddenly will there to be six Clans when the cats were finally getting used to there being five? And as far as she knew, there had never been any more than five Clans. Then again, StarClan had lied about that before, so maybe there had been a sixth.... That one rogue's words was sure causing her thoughts to buzz around in her head like a hive of angry bees.

The apprentice's fur prickled and her ears pricked, stiffer than usual. MountainClan... is this what Pebblestream had been trying to explain to her. Puzzled, and falling deep into thought, her fur shivering as if icy claws threatened to draw blood any moment. "No... there wouldn't be a sixth Clan!" Meowing firmly, after thinking over the problem.
Coming to her final descision, Lunarpaw took no humility in the outbirst. Instead, she described the thinking that she had come up with. "The rouges and loners must want to mock our customs, they really couldn't be speaking with StarClan!" The words continued to sound better aloud than they did in her head. Realizing the impoliteness, Lunarpaw quickly fell silent.

Mistheart nodded understandably as the leader said that it had been awhile since they had spoken properly. She was quite glad that she had suggested a talk; she was quite looking forward to one herself. ’It has hasn’t it Ravenstar,’ She mewed in agreement. ’There has been no word from StarClan so I suppose nothing important to talk about.’ She regretted saying that part, it sounded as though she didn’t have the time to talk to her friend just in general. But then in leaf-bare all of the Clan needed to be busy stocking up on supplies and fresh kill.
At the mention of the two rogues she looked a little concerned. How could they know about a sixth Clan before the Clans themselves had receives a sign from StarClan. Was this there will? ’How would that work?’ She muttered more to herself than to the others around her. ’Should we look more into it?’ she wandered, but then again she knew that it would be risky business to leave the safety of Clan territory in search of this potential ‘MountainClan’. At Lunarpaw's outburst, Ravenstar actually couldn't help but agree with the young cat. Rogues and loners were outside of the warrior code, therefore StarClan would never bring them together as a Clan! Looking over to Mistheart as she wondered about looking into the matter a bit more, Ravenstar shook her head, "No... I've told Crimsonclaw to alert the warriors that if they spot any rogue in out territory they are to bring them straight to me, or if that's not possible, then bring me to them for questioning. In the dead of leaf-bare, there is nothing more that we can do. I need all of our cats here."
Taking a bit of the rabbit in an attempt to calm down a bit. She chewed it slowly to give herself time to think a bit more. After she had swallowed, she continued, "If you haven't had any signs, then Lunarpaw must be on the right track, and I have a feeling it won't be good for the Clans... the real Clans. I suppose it could just be a bunch of rogues coming together to cause trouble." She twitched her tail, dismissing the idea for now, "We will deal with this 'MountainClan' when and if it becomes a problem, and not worry ourselves over it until then."
Turning back to the idea of training Lunarpaw, she looked over at the young cat, "What do say, Lunarpaw... after we finish this rabbit, will you be up for a little more training?"

Her pale yellow eyes lit up brightly at the mention of training, and her head bowed immidiately. "Yes!" Although it was sure for all three of the cats to become warriors (well, get their names anyway) quickly enough, worries were not vanished. Blackpaw was threatening again... and she didn't like it.
Lunarpaw allowed herself to calm down for a moment, and lower her muzzle to the prey and eat. 'Thank you, StarClan.' Her body relaxed, as if doing something natural relieved the stress if even just a moment.

Mistheart nodded her agreement. She was right, in Leaf-bare the clan were needed for much more important things than to look into rumours of a new Clan that StarClan had not even told them about. They had to trust that StarClan would tell them if there was anything to worry about, and as a strong believer Mistheart stuck to that.
Nodding again she had to admit that her apprentice was doing well. ’Yes, rogues can decide to do what they want, they don’t need StarClans blessing and nobody can deny that they dislike the Clans, they cause enough trouble when there alone. We should be wary of groups scents.’ She mewed and too a bite from the rabbit. ’I suppose all we can do is wait, but we must be prepared either way…’ She added just before Ravenstar addressed her apprentice once again.
At her apprentices happy tone she knew that with Lunarpaw out of the way for awhile Mistheart could check up on the Clan and check that all was well in the cold snowy camp, things would only get worse after all.

Ravenstar nodded as Mistheart spoke, soon finishing her portion of the rabbit. Leaf-bare was a time she was glad she was a smaller cat. She didn't need to eat nearly as much as other cats in the Clan and could therefore leave more prey for others as well as getting filled up on less. She swiped her tongue around her muzzle to remove any last traces of rabbit and gave herself a quick grooming as she waited for Lunarpaw to finish. Having long fur was great in Leaf-bare for its added warmth, but it also needed much more attention when it came to grooming. Yawning slightly, she stood, gazing around the small cave that was the medicine cat's den.
She remembered coming her as an apprentice, when her aunt, Phoenixflame, had been the medicine cat before Mistheart. She had been closer to Phoenixflame than she had been to fer own mother and father, and the old medicine cat had given her the deep faith she had in StarClan even today. She had even thought about becoming a medicine cat at one point, but the idea never really stuck, and now she knew why. Her destiny had been to become leader of her Clan, and though the duties it imposed upon her were sometimes hard to bear, it was a satisfying experience to give a cat their first apprentice and see name new warriors, to see her Clan thrive under her guidance.
Blinking a few times to rouse herself from her thoughts, she looked over at Mistheart with a soft purr, "I was just remembering Phoenixflame... she chose true in her apprentice, I think." Her pale amber eyes sparkled with playful amusement, something that didn't happen often. She was quite happy that Mistheart was her medicine cat as wel as her best friend and couldn't think of any cat better suited for the job. Turning back to Lunarpaw, she asked, "Are you ready then? You never know when I'll be needed for another patrol... we have so few warriors right now...." Though she flicked her ears, remembering she was speaking to Lunarpaw now not Mistheart and heavier conversation wasn't meant for apprentices, even medicine cat apprentices.

Up on her paws quickly, and yellow eyes shining brightly, intensely. The cold didn't faze her as she burst out of the Medicine Den, warmed by the heat of three cats. Outside the camp, snow was falling in slow motion, white as the fur on her back.
The black tail flicked in thought, but Lunarpaw quickly let the confusion slide. She sat down again, complete attentition to Ravenstar.
Her ears were pricked up, and silence filled her head waiting for the leader. A voice still captured the back of her mind, whispering. 'Dark.....'

The grey and white she cat took another small bite of the rabbit that lay in front of her, her silent thanks to StarClan resided in her head. She was being careful how much she ate and was wondering if the leftovers of the rabbit should be taken back to the fresh kill pile, would the Clan appreciate a half eaten rabbit? It was leafbare after all, prey was scarce and there was no way that the three of them would eat it all themselves. I’ll take it to the elders soon…’ she thought to herself, but her thoughts were cut off as Ravenstar spoke to her.
Her pale blue eyes looked into her leaders orbs. At the mention of apprentices she had to give an amused purr and a sideways glance at her own snowy apprentice, Lunarpaw. She sometimes wondered if she had made the right choice in apprentices, Lunarpaw was a little highly strung at times and seemed to lack the quiet sensitive nature of a medicine cat, always there to help. Her recent antics of messing up the herbs had made her question her harshly, but she had since redeemed herself and seemed to have settled down to the task at hand, more so now that it was leaf bare. ’Did I make the right choice in apprentice?’ she asked jokily flicking Lunarpaw with her tail. She knew that her leader had meant that Mistheart herself was the true choice of medicine cat, and her purr continued after the amusement had faded, Ravenstar was the most important cat in her life, medicine cats could not have mates, but Misthearts duties were all focused on her Clan, but mostly her leader.
As Ravenstar addressed her apprentice and she was immediately out the door of her den she smiled. ’don’t work her too hard.’ she mewed, but she knew that Lunarpaw had too much energy at times and that this would do her some good in dealing with it all. [/color]

Ravenstar gave a mrrow of amusement as Lunarpaw shot out of the den. She began to pad after her though stopped briefly to listed to Mistheart, "I don't think you have much to wrry about, Mistheart... your apprentice has energy to spare." She purred her amusement once more before padding after the apprentice.
Meeting her outside the camp, she noticed it was snowing again. Fluffing out her fur slightly, she looked back at Lunarpaw. Both of their duties had prevented them from having another training session after the first for about a moon, though it had given Lunarpaw plenty of time to practice the first couple moves she had taught her.
"Last time I taught you the front paw blow and the front paw strike. I wanted you to practice the front paw blow in order to see if you could unbalance me with it," she recalled, standing before the white apprentice who was already around the same size as her, "So... let's see if you practiced at all. Use the front paw blow method and try to unbalance me. If you did it successfully during a battle, it would give you and Mistheart some time to get away."

The pale apprentice was immidiately hanging on Ravenstar's every word, and her eyes glowed brightly after being told what she had to do. Falling into a stance meant for speed and agile reflexes, her pale yellow eyes met that of her leader's.
She seemed like a single white streak, darting at Ravenstar and her paw struck down at her. Although Lunarpaw was not large, the warrior was only slightly bigger than herself. This helped her get in a head shot, but the NightClan she-cat was certain it would not work on a larger cat, such as the TreeClan deputy.
After her quick hit, Lunarpaw slid away in the cavern and her white fur fluffed out unusally, and black tail curled around her paws.
