When rain fell from the sky in vicious waves, most cats stayed inside. For Rainblossom however, it was a time to be out and about on her own without worrying about others. She didn't mind being wet and since she never went far she didn't worry about being somewhere she could fall. The rain helped her make a mental picture of what was around her; which was good, but it also made it hard to find water. It was one of her best kept secrets that she couldn't swim in water deeper than her feet could touch the bottom. Because she was blind, it was disorienting for her, so she'd never been able to learn. So far, her luck had held out since she'd never been given an Apprentice to teach. Since part of training was swimming, that would have been very bad for her. Keeping her secret about her eyes had been hard over the long moons of her lifetime, but the alternative was unacceptable. Her father was still living, after all, and even though she was a Warrior now and he an Elder, he was still vicious enough to kill her if he knew for certain the kit he'd abandoned so long ago yet lived.

It wasn't like she was defenseless, because her ears more than made up for her eyes, but she just wasn't confident about facing her father again either. Still, here in the rain that gave part of her name, she felt just as normal as a cat that could see with their eyes. her tail tapped against the ground and trees on occasion but she was out here to think not to hunt so she wasn't really focusing too much. She knew the river was nearby, but she was keeping far away from it. Eventually though she grew tired of walking in the mud and rain and stopped under a tree before shaking herself to loose some of the water on her body. She sat down delicately and began to work on setting her fur to rights a bit as she listened to the sounds of the rain and lightning and roaring wind overhead. It was soothing for her. Still, she did miss the company of other cats, but having to always keep secrets weighed on her greatly. Oh well, she supposed it was selfish to want everything all at once. She was a patient cat though, she could wait. Things had already begun to change since Stormstar took over the clan, so really maybe the time where she would have to keep her secret would be over soon. Maybe they'd accept her as she was even though she couldn't see like other cats could. That was a big hope though since Rainblossom knew the most likely thing to happen if they found out is that she'd be forced to retire to the Elder's Den early and she didn't want that. She was still a capable Warrior and could provide for her clan as well as defend it. They'd see one day.

RainClan - Senior Warrior - Tom - 45 Moons

Rainclan territory was overtaken by torrential downpour. Puddles looked like raging oceans, and Adderstrike really couldn't see farther than a few tail-lengths in front of him. I'm swimming... He thought. and I haven't even reached the river. The brown tabby's coat was slick to his sides, though he didn't mind. The droplets were warm, and the scent of rainwater mixed with wet earth made him sigh happily. Adderstrike hung around the perimeter of the camp. No one wanted to stand out in this weather after the patrols, and most cats were tucked away in their proper dens. and I haven't even reached the river.Which means the whole of Rainclan territory is mine for the evening! He thought exuberantly, stepping proudly from the grim, grey shadow of Rainclan's camp. The tom had a mission, or a death wish, heading towards the raging rivers. I just want to see what its like... Adderstrike thought curiously.

He wandered towards the river, but ended up getting slightly frustrated with his impaired vision. The tabby decided to head towards a dark blob, realizing that it was a tree several paces away, and much larger than he had initially perceived. The thriving cedar tree looked to be a welcoming retreat from the weather. Surprisingly, a grey and white cat was grooming quietly and calmly beneath its lower boughs, a soft presence in the raging monsoon. I'm going to go see who that is. Only the daft cats are the ones letting themselves get caught in this deluge. He mused. When the small, stout warrior leaped and bounded over to shelter from the storm, he recognized Rainblossom.

"Rainblossom! Hello!"

Adderstrike yelled above the thunder and pelting haze, slipping under cover beside the warrior almost 30 moons his senior. 

"Isn't it a beautiful day?"

The brown tabby meowed sarcastically, though there was a tinge of truth in the back of his mind.

This storm is exhilarating. The tom thought, his heart racing from his stormy sprint.

Senior Warrior of RainClan

She heard him coming, of course she did, Rainblossom simply wasn't worried about it. He was clan, she could scent that much, and from the way his steps were a bit heavier, she knew that he was soaking wet like she was. Once he dropped down next to her she flicked her tail to tap him once in greeting like she did to most of her clan-mates and also to tell herself who it was. Adderstrike was his name. A fine Warrior in his own right, if a bit odd to her. 

Her ears flicked towards him at his sarcastic greeting, but she merely snorted in quiet amusement before answering him. "It is a fine day actually. I've always loved the rain and how it can be violent or gentle and always so unexpected. It's exhilarating to run through it as fast as you can and feel the raw power of the world we live in. We're close to the river though, so I'm enjoying the sounds of the storm. What brings you out this way though Adderstrike? Feeling cooped up inside the camp?" 

She turned her body to angle facing her new companion, her pale eyes focused calmly on the tom she couldn't see but definitely knew. He was...a bit odd this was. It was interesting.
