"Tonight, you are representing StoneClan. Some of you may be familiar with what a Gathering entails, but for some of you, this will be your first experience."
Spiderheart paced back and forth impatiently towards the back of the group of cat's the Stoneclan leader had summoned to go to the gathering. Hawkstar began his don't be stupid or dishonor the clan speech. Yeah, yeah. Let's just walk and talk, eh? The black tom thought rashly, managing to hold his tongue. Gatherings were a time to inspect the other clans for unusual behavior that might bring to light a clan's weakness. And also a time to talk to friends and joke around. The black tom thought, bubbling with an annoying and restless energy as Hawkstar continued speaking to the cats gathered before him.
"Interact with the other Clans, expand your learning horizons. But remember, be courteous. Be the bigger Clan; disrespect will not be tolerated. I am not asking you to like all who attend, but be polite. Come, let us not keep the other Clans waiting."
Spiderheart's spirits soared as the sand-colored leader bounded towards the camp's exit. About time! The black cat sighed happily, darting after Hawkstar eagerly. There was snow enough to make travel difficult, though the trip was uncomplicated. He followed his leader and deputy with a bounce in his step. It was harder for Spiderheart to control his strides and excitement of another gathering more than anything, and when Starclan's Claws came into view, the black tom thought they looked, and sounded, welcoming. The only thing more sweet to Spiderheart's ears than someone's conversation is the sound of his own voice.
The black tom noticed Hawkstar flick Wolfclaw on the shoulder with his sandy hued tail and exchange a slight smile before heading down the slope to Starclan's Claws. Spiderheart followed willingly and watched as his leader and deputy split from their clanmates to the boulder where the new Rainclan leader and his deputy waited patiently. That must be Stormstar. Spiderheart thought, staring at the unfamiliar cat with a calculating glare. He broke off and headed towards the dispersed Rainclan cats, hoping to find someone who would listen to his relentless voice.
Let's see...Spiderheart's eyes searched for a friendly face.
