"Thank you all agreeing to come. We will be leaving soon, the snow will make travelling difficult but please keep up. Try to follow right behind me, that way we create a path in the snow. I sent some cats out earlier to make a path but I can't be sure how well it has maintained,"
Firestar's voice cut through the chilly night air. Icefeather had been waiting patiently while her soft, thin brown and white pelt shone faintly in the moonlight from a recent grooming. Despite her attempts to fluff up her fur, her ribs jutted out from her spine like Starclan's Claws. She felt mildly embarrassed in her physique, though her personality was sharp and her eyes were glowing bright as she absorbed her leader's every word. More snow. She huffed to herself, blinking impassively. I am so ready for Newleaf! Icefeather almost missed Firestar's signal to the cats around her. I need to stop being so distracted all the time. She grumbled, following her clanmates to the entrance. Her paws tingled. At first, she thought it was excitement, though her heartbeats didn't skip or quicken. In fact, she wasn't quite sure she wanted to soak herself to the bone to meet a ton of cats she might have to fight tooth and claw with the day after tomorrow. But Firestar wanted me to go, so I'm going! She pushed through the camp entrance into Lightningclan territory. The snow underpaw felt wet and soft as it melted to the shape of her delicate, white paws. Icefeather followed her clanmates to Starclan's Claws.
The journey wasn't easy, bouncing and pushing through snow for what felt like moons upon moons, though they all made it safely and in good time. Icefeather noticed Firestar pause at the front, waiting for her clan to gather around.
"Please be on your best behavior," The Lightningclan leader began speaking confidently. "being polite is important we can't risk a disagreement turning into a fight. Leafbare is hard for all the Clans, no point in creating problems when there aren't any,"
Icefeather smiled. Firestar always seemed to make sense. She's my role model. The brown and white tabby thought, eyes sparkling as she nodded admiringly at Firestar's wise words. In fact, she was the first to bounce to her paws and follow the calico she-cat between the jagged stones. She saw Firestar turn towards Stormstar and Hawkstar. Thank Starclan we aren't the last to arrive! She sighed. I hate trampling on tails to try and find a good spot. Icefeather headed straight towards the center of the cats, willingly immersing herself in the sea of pelts.
I hope I run into someone nice and not a cranky elder or snobby apprentice. She thought hopefully.
