You gotta ignite the lightTWENTY-ONE MOONS. WARRIOR OF LIGHTNINGCLAN. SHE-CAT. It wasn't a horrible day out, although it was unfortunate that the snow had come down as it had this morning, but that was that, and despite the fact that Robinflame still had to out her fur, what little she had, she knew that she and Minkpaw had to go out training. There was no time to waste, with her training getting along as it was. Robinflame had already been berated on how she had been spending far too much of time doing anything but mentoring, so she had made sure to not get distracted today.
While she had told Minkpaw they were going out around Sunhigh, she had left the apprentice to her own devices until then, and so now Robinflame wandered into camp, looking around for her apprentice. She caught sight of the she-cat and signaled her with her tail.
"Hey Minkpaw come on, we got training to do! I want to get to the trampled clearing before the snow melts and makes it slushy!"
Robinflame didnt wait for her apprentice, casually loping out of camp, her paws accustomed to the feel of the ground, and her body feeling alive as it began to warm up from the run. The calico closed her eyes and opened her mouth to breathe in the winter scents of snow, stale grasses and hard earth. She had never particularly enjoyed Leafbare, but she was always happy to be running on the hills, as close to the sky as she could be. With a mischievous grin she spotted a particularly snowy hillside. Picking up speed, she leapt and landed in a skid, sliding down the slick hillside with an excited meow. At the bottom she could see the Trampled clearing and wondered if her apprentice had followed her, or if she had taken the tame route.

7 Moons. LightningClan. She-Cat. Minkpaw was lazing around in camp, stretching out in a meagre patch of sunlight as she tried to soak up what heat it offered. She was lucky in her thick and warm fur, and so much warmer than most of her clan-mates, but a cat of any creed will always seek the warmest spot they possibly can. She wasn't too bothered with Robinflame's lack of interest in her regular training, relishing her immense free time in comparison to her peers. She wasn't yet worried about not progressing in training, since she was only a moon in and she hadn't yet seen any other apprentice of her age become a warrior. She loved being able to roam off by herself often, and to snatch the odd sleep-in as she had today.
She purred and massaged the ground softly with her paws, claws rasping against the ground as she paused to listen to her mentor's voice, perking up and glancing over with a flick of her tail.
The trampled clearing!?
The young she-cat's heart skipped a beat and she was on her paws in an instant, bounding down to follow after Robinflame with a giddy bounce in her step. Of all the parts of training that she could have had, battle training was the type she had been most looking forward to. She wasn't sure how she'd do, but the very idea of a good tussle excited her.
She catapulted after her mentor, a little flame of pride lighting in her heart as she managed to keep pace for once. Even with sporadic training, Minkpaw was growing stronger and faster every day, and in the glow of youth she revelled in it. She didn't pay much attention to where they ran, not really watching where she put her paws from her distraction. From this, she had no choice but to slide chaotically down the slope after Robinflame, an involuntary yelp escaping her lips as she fought to keep her footing.
With a wide-spread stance she slid to a stop next to Robinflame, panting and bright-eyed as she looked up to meet her mentor's gaze and giggled despite herself.
"Well I guess we don't have to do a warm-up now."
She spluttered.

You gotta ignite the lightTWENTY-ONE MOONS. WARRIOR OF LIGHTNINGCLAN. SHE-CAT. The calico warrior beamed at her apprentice when she came sliding down the slope towards her.
"No we won't, but that means we should get started straight away."
Robinflame bounded to the center of the clearing, and beckoned her apprentice after her.
"Okay so, neither of us are really big or intimidating, which means we have to find other ways of fighting. Depending on your body type, you'll have to have a different strategy So me, Im compact, but I've been trained for speed."
She leaped forward, rushing forward close to the ground. Just before she reached her apprentice, she placed her front paws on the ground, using her momentum to swing around completely, her legs kicking out behind her before they landed back on the ground and she could speed off. Once she had completed the rather advanced maneuver, since she had been wanting to impress Minkpaw, she straightened up.
"Now, that wasnt really a move to use in a fight, but you should know your body's abilities and limits. So how about you attack me, and we will see how it goes."

7 Moons. LightningClan. She-Cat. Minkpaw bounced after her mentor, excitement fluttering wild in her heart like a caged bird as she grinned stupidly. Images of epic battles flashed before her mind's eye as she listened to what Robinflame had to say,
Trained for speed! Yah! That sounds great!
She thought to herself, crouching a little and wiggling her rear as her tail swished, eyes set on her mentor. As Robinflame rushed towards her the apprentice's eyes grew wide and she steadied herself as if she were preparing to be attacked, but her mentor skidded around gracefully and left Minkpaw in awe of her speed. With a little jump, the apprentice found herself even more excited, relishing the suggestion that she should begin with an attack of her own.
The brown she-cat lowered her body closer to the ground, trying to imitate what she had grown used to as a hunting crouch and watching Robinflame closely for any movement that might betray her before she countered. She had had the odd tussle with Badgerpaw on the borders, and she had gathered enough to know it was wise to keep watch on your opponent.
She didn't wait too long though, excitement and an urge to impress Robinflame getting the better of her as she quickly bunched up her haunches and leaped at her, aiming a swipe at her mentor's front paws to try and unbalance her, a miscalculation she realised mid-leap, for she was still smaller than Robinflame and unlikely to be able to knock her paws aside with a blow there.

Robinflame The calico warrior felt her apprentice's excitement and indeed began to take some of it in, her excitement and energy growing by the second. She did not flatten down like her apprentice did, instead arching up, resting only lightly on her toes and allowing her muscles to be lax. Though she wasnt tall, she was still slighty bigger than her apprentice, and definitely faster. o when her apprentice lunged forward with something of a lumbering leap, Robinflame leaped lightly over the strike to her apprentice's side. Chuckling slightly. "Good job! So a big thing is, although the hunting crouch is good for hunting, it can bog us down when fighting. Our job is less to pounce, and more to be ready to move at any second. Unless you are rushing forward for an attack, try to keep your muscles neither completely loose nor tensed, you want to be springy o your toes." She bounced lightly on her paws for a second. "Try not to make it too obvious what you are planning to attack. It wasnt hard to guess what your target was. Once you have practice, you should keep them guessing, attack swiftly, decisively, and do not hesitate."
Robinflame had a feeling that she was speaking too fast, or at least her sentences weren't forming a coherent whole. "Okay, uhh I'll let you think that through." She paused for barely half a second, her heart yammering in her chest from excitement and making her perception of time skew. "Okay so what do you think? Any questions?"
@sparrowkeeper Notes: Short so short and no time for a table.... Im so sorry.

7 Moons. LightningClan. She-Cat. Minkpaw's outstretched paws met nothing but air as her leap landed, and the apprentice turned in surprise as her mentor landed an easy blow to her side. Instinctively she swivelled to face Robinflame and went back into a defensive crouch, but as she tried to gather herself she tried to soak in what her mentor was doing and saying.
Gently, slowly, the young brown cat perked up her ears more and tried to relax herself, trying to emulate Robinflame's stance. She raised herself up cautiously from her previous belly-to-the-ground crouch, feeling strange and unprotected. She felt like she could get knocked off her paws, like her centre of balance was too high, but Robinflame's words made sense.
If they can't hit me, it won't matter that I'm easier to knock over
She tried to bounce as her mentor did, thinking of a hare bounding and doing her best to have that same lightness combined with a tense energy. She nodded at the advice on trying not to make her intentions obvious, a mischievous twinkle starting in her eyes as she kept trying to bounce loosely.
No hesitation, yes
She nodded feverishly. Robinflame's energy was infectious to her, and the apprentice felt an excitement building up in her again as she anticipated them starting another battle-attempt. Robinflame had barely finished the word "questions" before Minkpaw had made another attempt at an attack. The brown she-cat shot forward, her movement flowing from one of her bounces seamlessly, but let herself down with a clumsy swipe at Robinflame's flank.

You gotta ignite the lightTWENTY-ONE MOONS. WARRIOR OF LIGHTNINGCLAN. SHE-CAT. Robinflame had started to feel a lot less unsure of herself during this training session. While she usually found it hard to focus, and had even struggled during her own training, for some reason Minkpaw's excitement was helping her to focus. She had never exactly been the best at fighting, more at evading, so that was what she was teaching her apprentice. It seemed that Minkpaw was understanding, because as Robinflame explained things to her, she shifted her body to be more similar to Robinflame. Just as the last words left Robinflame's mouth, her apprentice leaped forward. Robinflame was caught off guard and hissed as she tried to evade, but could still feel her apprentice's paw scoring a hit. Robinflame, quickly backed off, eyeing the brown she-cat thoughtfully.
"Good job, you caught me off guard" She smiled at Minkpaw."Now you have a good stance against a smaller cat, but what if you had to fight a big cat? How would you do that? They are bigger than you, and stronger than you, so if you get hit, they would send you flying."
There were only a few good answers to this, usually the most sensible thing would be to find another opponent, but Robinflame wondered if Minkpaw had any other clever ideas.
"Im asking because its important to think about the fighting styles of the other clans as well, and Treeclan usually had large cats, while Stoneclan has stocky, bulky cats. We need to learn how to counter each group differently." Or something like that. Robinflame was scrounging her mind for the other advice her mentor had given her... but it was not easy. Mostly because she had hardly paid real attention and hadn't been in an actual battle yet. And let it shine309 @sparrowkeeper Notes go here

7 Moons. LightningClan. She-Cat. Minkpaw squeaked in a mixture of shock and awe as she felt her paw actually make clumsy contact with Robinflame's flank, almost stumbling as she landed and briefly forgetting to keep herself in the high and loose position that Robinflame had suggested to her. As her mentor looked back at her she righted herself again sheepishly, trying to go back into the same bouncing stance that she had been doing before. The tips of her ears burned hot at the praise she received for the attempt, and she tried to put that nervous and happy energy into her gentle bouncing on the balls of her toes.
"Ou-ou-erm...Not get hit?"
She stammered jokingly at Robinflame's question, head tilting to the side with a twitch of her ears as she considered it, then looked up as her mentor continued.
Yeah.. different clans, different fighting styles... Badgerpaw's slippery
She mused, looking up as she spoke out loud a more put-together answer
"Maybe try to get them off balance?"
She queried, tail swishing through the air excitedly
"If they're so big, they've got a lot of weight to push around, and it's better they push that weight into falling?"
She grinned, thinking the mental image of a big clumsy cat falling over that it put in her head to be rather funny.
