Stormstar emerged from his den into the cold rainy morning stretching and shaking out his fluffy grey fur, even though his fur was quickly weifhed down by wet again. This weather certainly warranted caution thoigh, he would have to consult ottersplash on hiw long cats could stay out, and which cats showed signs of sickness which might bw worsened by the weather. Today would be an abysmal day for hunting and fishing. He glanced around the camp in the early morning chill, noting that most cats were still in their nests, and he had no intentire of removing them. It felt odd for him to sleep alone, his den hollow and quiet with him as its only occupant. Every other Leafbare he had offered to whatever warriors were of short pelts to come and share his warmth, and he had often been the center of a massive pile of sleeping bodies. It had been, despite his lack of easy emotional attachment, a comforting sensation. Now the only warm he had was his own. And the sensation of aloneness did not remain only in regards to his den, but he felt oddly isolated as leader. Cooped up was a better phrase. His paws itched to get back out into the territory, to hunt, to fish, to swim. But he had been so busy with the details of the clan, with acquainting himself with policy, checking in with Ottersplash, discussing things with his elders, and generally keeping the clan in a peaceful and functional state. Some cats would have been driven crazy by now with how little personal time and sleep he had had.
Now the camp was quiet, everyone was sleeping, except for a she-cat whom he spotted just leaving the warriors den. Rainblossom. Whatever the blind shecat was doing, Storms tar did not know, but he was curious to catch up with the shecat who was relatively close to him in age. Trotting over to the she cat, he purred. “Morning Rainblossom. What are you up to this fine chill morning? I would have expected you to be hiding from slushy ice like most of the other warriors."
