STORMSTAR
Leafbare had arrived in subtle waves of morning frost and sluggish fish and icy water. Thanks to his direct supervision and the diligence of all of Rainclan, they had enlarged the dens and insulated them up for the winter as well as managed to find some nice dry and warm nesting for the elders. Thankfully there was only one queen at the moment, Lizardleap, and she would have her kits in the deep leafbare. He did not envy her that, but hoped that at least some survived to Greenleaf. Anything to replenish the ranks of his fading clan.
For now though, he had good news, and Stormstar was pleased to share it with his clan. Stepping up towards the River Stone, he casually crouched and then leapt up onto the stone, turning to face the rest of camp.
"Let all those old enough to swim gather before the River Stone for a clan meeting!"
He waited patiently for his clan to gather, hoping Rushwhisker had spoken to his sister about being ready for the ceremony. Once most of the clan had gathered, he began.
"Rainclan, we have worked hard together to prepare for Leafbare, to build us up again. Our dens are ready, our territory safe from predators, and we are healthy. But as we go into Leafbare, we will need all the strength we can get." Stormstar flicked his eyes towards Ashpaw. "It is finally time for us to name a new warrior. Ashpaw, you were lost to us for many moons before you finally found your way home. As you have reintegrated into the clan you have grown in skill and shown great courage in battle. I believe that you are ready to become a warrior and take your place as a warrior of Rainclan."
"I, Tempeststar, leader of Rainclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Ashpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

I'm not standing still. I am lying in wait.
