19 MOONS LIGHTNINGCLAN WARRIOR This wasn't a border clash like he wanted, but Harestrike would be lying if he said he wasn't having fun. Chasing down his namesake, the wind rippled through his pelt, turning it to silk as he was a blur across the moorlands, feeling the air rush through his lungs and the scents fill his nostrils as he sprinted. With Robinflame flushing them out, Harestrike always let them get a foxlength away before he gave chase, wanting to at least give himself something to do; he could have laughed, the feeling of exhilaration making this all feel... so worth-while.
Of course, when hunting wasn't your favorite part of Clan life, it helped to have a pretty she-cat right alongside you to make the task a little less tedious. He was so close to the hare that he could see the end of it's fluffy tail bobbing in the wind streaming around them. He pounced, ignoring the scent markers that distinguished TreeClan from LightningClan, and tackled the hare without mercy. A swift bite to the neck and it was all over, Harestrike grinning though he panted, tongue out. "What a run!" he called to his companion, heaving himself up onto his paws. He felt alive, full of energy even if the ground under his paws felt different.
If only he could run through the whole valley. If only Firestar wouldn't have his fur for bedding if he even tried. Aware that he wasn't on the correct side of the border, the fur on the nape of his neck prickled in warning, but he glanced around with a cautious, curious mixture at the unfamiliar trees. Though he was back-stepping towards the border (hare in his mouth), it was clear he was in no rush to give up the chance to explore uncharted territory.

Robinflame
Days like this, the calico she-cat almost felt as if she were her namesake. Her paws barely skimmed the ground as she sped across the moor, and she imagined that if she leaped she might simply fly off into the bright blue expanse of sky to join the birds wheeling overhead. As she trailed just behind Harestrike, Robinflame felt the wind rush past, and she wondered if this was what Starclan would be like, with fierce joy and freedom, no boundaries, no fear, no worries.
This was bliss, an adventure with a friend, the thrill of the hunt, the coursing of liquid excitement through her blood, eyes blown wide and fur flat from the wind flashing past.
If she caught the abrupt shift of scent as Harestrike caught the hare, she didn't react much. She had always wanted to cross clan borders, she was too curious to not do it eventually and have the chance to explore new areas. Not to mention she had always wanted to get closer to the massive trees of the neighboring clan and maybe try and climb them. She bet she could see everything from up in a tree.
The she-cat, even though she was a warrior and accustomed to such runs, had exerted herself more than normal, and stood panting from the run, adrenaline still coursing through her veins and making her disregard any sense of danger.
"That was amazing! We should do that more often!" She beamed at the tom, excited to have found someone who could keep up with her. Eventually he would probably get tired of her rambunctious ways, but until he did, she was perfectly willing to run with him.
"Hey you to climb a tree while we're here? We can be quick, and get back to camp afterwards. We already crossed the border anyway." Any caution had been thrown out the window, even though she did look around to make sure no patrol was there to hear them.

19 MOONS LIGHTNINGCLAN WARRIOR "You read my mind," Harestrike purred, wearing a roguish grin, paws stretching forward, claws unsheathing to their full lethal capacity as though in anticipation to climb. He was half-hoping they were found; half hoping those mouse-hearts found them on their territory. Not going to bury their catch and confident that nothing was going to steal it with two full grown warriors nearby, Harestrike approached some of the trees, eying the branches with renewed curiosity. What looks sturdy enough to hold us?
"How about that one?" Harestrike marked the tree by taking one long claw and scratching a diagonal line into the bark; he would've made it bigger, so they could see it from their side of the border (or find it again whenever Firestar wanted to take back the open woods) and remember that great time they had climbing a tree, but he contented himself with this much.
Harestrike flicked her flank with his tail, his eyes glinting teasingly, the challenge clear. "You're the bird, Robinflame. Why don't you go first? I'll keep an eye out for any company." He wasn't scared, it was probably bordering on 'stupid' how much fear didn't tend to affect him when it came to new things, but he rationalized that Robinflame was smaller and lighter than he was. All that time spent building his muscles and increasing his speed wouldn't be so helpful when they were climbing; you needed to be light and nimble.
Robinflame would have an easier time of it, and she could tell him where to place his paws when he climbed up after her.
Besides... I don't want any TreeClanners sneaking up on us as soon as our backs are turned. Who cares if THEY were the ones trespassing? Harestrike raised his head in arrogant defiance, tail lashing as though itching for a fight. He wasn't about to be surprised by anyone. Robinflame The she-cat gazed around with open admiration and curiosity. Even in her many days of adventure and excitement, she had not yet dared to over a clan territory line. She had been too carefully watched as an apprentice to do much more than play pranks and run wild and free through the territory. But this... this was something new, and her heart rate picked up again, rocketing forward at the speed of a robin's wing beat.
Harestrike grinned at her, and she beamed back, kneading the earth with her claws in anticipation, as they both looked around. Before Robinflame could give a suggestion, Harestrike bounded over to a tree and marked it. With a cheeky grin, Robinflame scratched a diagonal line across his.
"Perfect, now its marked as ours forever. Probably will give a Treeclan patrol something to think about too!"
Robinflame had been to a few gatherings, but not as much as most cats her age, she had been punished to often for that, so she knew hardly anyone in the other clans. In a way it was fun to imagine some nameless, faceless, silly cats wandering around the tree. Harestrike's comment made her role her eyes at him.
"Oh yeah? I'll bet you're just scared. But sure, I'll do it." After smacking Harestrike's nose with tail playfully, she launched herself at the bark, digging her claws in a far as they would go and scrambling up the tree to the first branch. A couple times the bark peeled away and she almost slipped, but her pace kept her from noticing it too much.
Once up on the first branch she looked down at her friend, panting with pupils so wide all that remained was a ring of yellow. Her tail flickered behind her as she snickered at her friend.
"Well slow foot, whatcha waiting for? Can you get up here too?"
The wind swayed the branches, and Robinflame balanced precariously, watching for Harestrike's reaction.

19 MOONS LIGHTNINGCLAN WARRIOR Harestrike swatted her tail away from his nose, growling playfully, his sharp eyes following the she-cat's progress up the tree. StarClan, she's fast! He hadn't expected Robinflame to take to the trees so naturally (well, she did slip up once or twice, but quickly righted herself before this could end in catastrophe), and he knew he was impressed by her newly discovered skill. Eager to prove he was just as good and definitely NOT scared, Harestrike grinned from the base of the trunk, gathered all the energy he could muster in his back legs and sprang up. He dug his back-feet in to help hike his body further up the bark, needle-like claws latching on as he propelled himself upward, grunting with the effort as he wrapped his front limbs around the nearest bough, hauling his thin, muscled body up after. "Whew! This is a great way to build up strength!" Harestrike called happily, forgetting where they were.
He almost hissed at himself a moment later, realizing he'd been louder than was necessary. Mossbrain. Don't attract attention! Even if a TreeClan patrol did find them, Harestrike was confident he could chase them off, or at least give them a real fight before they had to retreat over the border. Up here, they had a nice view of both sides of the territory, and he purred, once he was two branches closer to Robinflame, meeting her bright gaze and dark pupils with another cocky grin. "We should come back, climb an even bigger tree," he mewed, a purr rumbling in his throat.
Before they could get too comfortable, and the unusual smell of tree sap and leaves could fully settle in around them, Harestrike's ears pricked forward, body tensing as he listened to the sound of approaching paw-steps. There was a TreeClan patrol coming this way! Harestrike threw a hasty glance back at the prey they had caught, and was pleased to note it was still on LightningClan's side of the border.
How did they escape? Harestrike glared along the branches as if demanding they provide him with an answer. Testing the bough's strength, Harestrike stood up, his claws anchored into the branch as he tried to claw his way to the end of it; if they could jump to the other branch, curve around the tree to the other side, they might be able to make it all the way back over LightningClan's border—then drop down before TreeClan could catch them.
The hard beat of his heart in his chest was an addictive feeling, and Harestrike threw a reckless glance at Robinflame, jerking his tail in the direction of their border. "Think we can make it?" We've got to at least TRY. Word Count: 462 Words Tags: @dreamer I CAN'T SLOW DOWN, I WON'T BE WAITING FOR YOU Notes:

Robinflame
The warrioress snickered as her companion struggled up the tree, settled comfortably on the branch with her black and and white patched tail swingng lazily in the breeze blowing in from the moor.
"Guess you really are like your name, stuck to the land!"
While he struggled up the last bit, Robinflame looked up through the branches which dappled her with bits of sunlight. It was so odd, the forest, she could never imagine loving under things that wouldn't let her see the sky. The sky was her place, and sometimes she felt as if the moors were the onl place where she felt right, it seemed like it was where the sky touched land, where one day she might get lucky and leap high enough to actually fly. Robinflame wrinkled her nose at the leaves above, no, she could never live in a place like this.
Finally her friend had made it up beside her, panting and exclaiming about exercise. As if chasing down hares wasn't enough exercise, but Robinflame laughed just the same. Harestrike was enthusiastic, if a bit loud, but Robinflame had never been good at regulating her voice either.
"Yeah, although I bet you can't get half as high as I can!"
Robinflame would have been content to keep bantering with her friend for even longer, but their luck had run out. Harestrike flattened himself to the trunk, and although Robinflame was at first confused she heard it as well. Grinning widely she turned to Harestrike, even though tension had started to stand her fur on end.
"What else can we lose? Besides we are Lightningclan, nobody is as fast as us." Except at climbing trees she didnt add.
She scampered over to his side, anchoring her claws safely, until she heard a creaking sound and had to back up.
"I think the end will only hold one at a time, so quick, you first!"

19 MOONS LIGHTNINGCLAN WARRIOR "I think the end will only hold one at a time, so quick, you first!"
Harestrike hissed, but did as she said. He would've liked to have been a polite, well-mannered tom who allowed her to jump to safety first, but there was no time for that. Besides, she wouldn't appreciate him giving her special treatment; they were friends before anything else. Harestrike gathered all the strength he could in his haunches and launched himself across, his stomach plummeting like a stone as he sailed over emptiness for what felt like a thousand heartbeats (but couldn't have been more than a few) only to make a messy landing in the neighboring tree.
TreeClan definitely knew they were here. He'd rattled enough leaves and swayed enough sticks to announce their presence loud and clear. Gouging his claws into the bark, Harestrike spat in defiance towards their enemies, his eyes gleaming as the TreeClan patrol arrived with bushed out tails.
Though it was hard to look straight down at them without feeling nauseous, Harestrike was able to pick out Spiderdance, Lichenfrost—and TreeClan's deputy herself! Harestrike through an impatience glance at Robinflame, making sure she had enough room to land, but a scratching sound distracted him.
"You're trespassing!" Meadowleaf hissed, the deputy lashing her tail as she climbed up to meet them on the branches.
Harestrike was confident of his fighting ability, but in the trees? He might just lose. Worse, he might fall to his death over a stupid adventure that hardly got them anywhere. Despite this, however, Harestrike swiped at Meadowleaf's paws and ears as the she-cat drew closer to them. "Go back home, mouse-munchers!" He taunted, hoping Robinflame could go ahead of him.

Robinflame
When Harestrike took her advice and went first over the gap, landing with a crash and suffle of leaves, Robinflame felt the stakes ratchet higher. Treeclan knew they were here. Robinflame looked down to see Treeclanners clawing their way up the trees, Time to go. With a joyful warble, Robinflame launched herself across the gap. The world seemed to stop, light streaming down from the sun onto her patched form, and for a few precious moments Robinflame imagined that she could sprout wings and fly away. But then the rugged truth hit her hard in the jolt to her legs which was the branch. Thankfully she hit a point just past Harestrike, but any prior ability she had had disappeared, and while she managed to hook her front claws into the bark, the rest of her body swung free in the breeze. Whimpering in pain as she felt her claws almost being ripped from her paws she cried out to Harestrike.
"Harestrike! Get me up!"
But he was busy, the she-cat could see, so mustering all her strength she heaved her body upward onto the branch. But now, her claws were stuck in the wood. Franticly, her heart pounding, she tried to pull the claws out of the wood one by one, watching as the Treeclan cats closed in. Once she finally freed them, she hurried to the other side of the trunk and painfully descended into Lightningclan as fast as she could. Once she had streaked across the border, she turned back, panting and laughed. "Not anymore we're not! Unless you want to tresspass too, we'll just be on our way! See you mossbrains!"
With another giggle she ran a few circles inside the borderline, waiting for Harestrike to join her, so they could set back for camp with their kill.

19 MOONS LIGHTNINGCLAN WARRIOR "Harestrike! Get me up!"
Harestrike's head whipped around, and Meadowleaf chose at that moment to push him off the branch. The tabby and white tom yowled in shock, claws scratching up the bark on his unwanted descent. It was only luck that he didn't break anything on impact, having been able to claw up the bark on his plummet enough to slow himself down.
He still landed with a painful stab of earth in his legs, the shock of it traveling stiffly up through all four paws harshly enough to make him gasp. Without further word, he didn't even pause to give a leering grin at the converging TreeClan cats, Harestrike raced for the LightningClan border.
He felt Meadowleaf's claws swipe across his tail but he was too fast for her, and he panted, grinning as he spun around to stand alongside Robinflame. We made it.
With a sardonic snort and an arrogant sweep of his tail, Harestrike turned his back on the TreeClan cats, bumping his shoulder against Robinflame's in a friendly gesture, breathless but exhilarated. "I thought you were mouse-meat for a moment back there," he mewed, remarking on her near-fall. "And I can't believe that deputy just shoved me out of the tree like that!" We must've really ticked off TreeClan.
Harestrike snickered, though his paws were still stinging, and it wouldn't be long until he winced his way home.

Robinflame Her eyes went wide as she watched Meadowleaf shove Harestrike out of the tree. "Harestrike!" She yowled, almost dashing forward to make sure he was okay, but the other Treeclan cats were too close, if she went back she would end up in a battle. Thankfully Harestrike seemed to manage to get out alright, although Meadowleaf nearly clawed his tail. Robinflame winced at the close call, but then he was at her side, vibrating with excitement.
When he finally managed to get some words out at her, she snorted at him. "More like Robin meat fluff-head." She said and playfully tried to cuff him over the ear, claws sheathed. "Tree-lovers! Heh but that was a bad fall, think you can make it back to camp? Kindleflare would look at it for you if I asked. And we could probably ignore Rookfrost if we're smart." She looked him over, for the most part he seemed alright, although his posture was off. It was nice to have a sister as medicine cat, she was usually alright with helping Robinflame nurse her scratches and bruises.
"Hey lets get back to camp before that patrol decides to complain to Firestar... I'd rather not have my hide flayed." She noticed the rabbit they had caught earlier. "I'll take that, see if you can walk off that fall." Reaching for the Rabbit she grasped the neck in her jaws and began dragging it back to camp, looking back at Harestrike and twitching her whiskers as if to say "you coming?"

19 MOONS LIGHTNINGCLAN WARRIOR It was a relief that Robinflame's sister was a medicine cat also; even if Rookfrost wasn't the type to ask questions, he found the tom unpleasant to be around. There was always a coldness in the air around Rookfrost, as if he didn't enjoy treating wounds, but did it because he didn't have anything better to do.
Not that Harestrike gave it too much thought.
He felt a jolt to his pride as Robinflame picked up the rabbit, intending to carry it back to camp for them. I can still take it! I'm not an elder! He clenched his jaw and bit back a protest, aware that she was right. His paws did hurt. "Good idea. If anyone asks, I landed funny on that hare." Harestrike didn't like bringing to mind his weaknesses, that he wasn't as good a hunter as his brother Thrushwhisker, but that was better than his Clanmates knowing the truth.
They wouldn't see the excitement and the fun in what he and Robinflame had just done. Harestrike smirked at her, pleased to have a partner in crime. They'd both come out of that relatively unscathed - and by the time the Gathering rolled around, TreeClan will have forgotten all about it.
