    Quick as lightning Runningfire rushed after her prey. It felt like she had been running for a moon already! Her paws thumped hard on the ground as a hare ziz zagged across the territory toward the open wood.
    Runningfire was much to distracted with her prey to realize the cent boarder that marked the different territories. Even if she had that was the last thing on her mind. Although very respectful of the current status quoe, she always questioned why the clans had to battle and bicker the way they did, But she was young and had yet to sink her claws into an enemy pelt in defense of her clan.
    The ground took a small dart downward, and she used this to her advantage. As the rabbit skirted the ground, Runningfire used the slop as leverage and lept at the prey killing it with a swift bit to the neck. 

    She purred utterly proud of herself, it was big enough to feed three cats! exhausted from the run but energized by her success she sat down and drew a paw over her forehead giving her self a congratulatory grooming while she waited for her clan mates to catch up.

    Speaking of clan mates...where they? Where was she!? Runningfire looked around puzzled as she realized that she was three cat leeps past the boarder and into Tree clan's newly claimed territory.

Though the young warrior had already been out in the early morning to help with Dawn Patrol along the Stoneclan border, she wasn't about to refuse an opportunity to hunt for her clan. While she was far better using her claws to battle, she wasn't the worst of hunters that belonged to Lightningclan. Besides, it looked like it wouldn't be too bad of a hunt, since her brother was the one who invited her. 

The long legged she-cat made her was through the gently slopping moors, letting the wind gently tug at her silvery-gray fur as the breeze cool off the rays from the rather heated sun. Ears twitched, circling backwards to listen for possible winged predators that could be looking for their own prey, which could easily be anyone of the Lightningclan cats who called the open moors their home.

Wide amber orbs turned to view the russet red of her brother's pelt. While he looked more like their sister, Owlcry tended to stand out to their red pelts with her more, stormy like colors. Not that it bothered her, there was a reason she was called Owlcry, while her siblings took on names that closely resembled their pelts.

With Runningfire in the lead, the rather ridged Owlcry let herself trail after with Redscar by her flank as they made their way through the rough grasses of the moorland. Her mouth opened to let the breeze run a familar scent accross her tongue. Rabbit. However, before the wise, yet young she-cat could react, Runningfire took off after the bouncing, brown rodent.
 
Wide eyes narrowing, Owlcry deduced that it would take a lot of exertion to even catch up to the rabbit, not to mention the engery to remove it's life. The silver-gray warrioress found that creeping up on her prey took less energy spent, and more time catching the right amount of prey needed for the clan. Running all over the moor just scattered one's scent, leaving other potiental prey to scatter.

However, Owlcry noticed something else as Runningfire raced after the rabbit. She as soon to cross over into Treeclan territory. Now granted, Owlcry and Redscar could easily take on a patrol of the forest dwellers, it wasn't wise to pick a border fight at the moment, so soon after loosing the Open Woods to them. It would cause far more unnecessary tenstion between the two clans.

"Runningfire." Owlcry's rather stern voice rang out over the breeze as her nimble paws stopped at the edge of the moor, the edge of Lightningclan territory. Those peircing amber orbs narrowed as they held a cold light, tail tip twitching in a rather annoyed notion. "Hurry and get over here." Ever the drill sargent, the ridged she-cat's tone was just a notion of how strict she was, even to her own clanmates.

    Redscar loved serving his clan, it felt as if he was fulfilling some sort of calling when he was on a mission for the betterment of his home. That said he preferred to take on missions that involved doing so through glorious combat, the clash of bodies and the spilling of blood inspired him greatly. The fiery coated tom would readily admit that hunting to feed the clan was incredibly important as well, it just didn't spark the flame inside him that battle did. He wasn't one to ignore his duties however, so he had opted to make them more tolerable by hunting with his sister and Runningfire. The younger warrior that accompanied them was obviously the odd one out but Redscar didn't mind spending time with new warriors, he saw incredibly untapped potential in his clanmates and wondered if he couldn't help Lightningclans' true power become realized.

    He was fine walking in silence, the weather proved comfortable and it would only improve their odds of success. The nearly unspoken bond he seemed to share with his sister quelled the feelings of solitude that would have plagued Redscar if he had shared such a quiet stroll through the territory with any other cat. It seemed that nearly in unison he and Owlcry detected the prey they were looking for, he too was short on the trigger however as Runningfire tore after her prey. Redscar grinned, finding it hard to be upset with the exuberance the young she-cat exuded even if her technique could use improvement. Running after her the red warrior didn't want to miss any of the entertainment she was providing, he did not regret bringing her with for a moment as the show she put on more than paid the price of admission.


    Redscar however had a good sense of direction and knew the territory by heart, and noticed the instance Runningfire crossed over into what he would only refer to as contested territory. He waited just at the newly marked Treeclan border already feeling his attitude shift as he prepared himself for combat, scanning ahead as he searched for any aggressors from the neighboring clan. His sister was soon beside him, and he was surprised at the tone she used and that the young she-cat had received a reprimand at all. Redscar knew he was going to have his ears clawed later but he couldn't let his sisters words define the situation, he knew she was wrong about this. "Don't worry about it Runningfire!" He called giving Owlcry a flick with his tail, "It's our territory, regardless of where they place their markers." He said in a calm voice, he prayed a patrol would find them. Redscar had been looking forward to a Treeclan massacre for too long, he wanted to send back many of their trespassing patrols bloodied and demoralized only then would they be prime for a true counter strike.

    She whipped her head around at Owlcry's scold. with a suprised look on her face as she relized what she had done, she set her ears down as they grew hot with embarrassment....what a rookie mistake. Redscar's comment soothed her her a little.
Although embarrassed by her lack of boarder control she heaved herself up and grabbed by prey by the scruff, and began to drag it to her clanmates.
    With a mouth full of fur she replied 
"Iff not life we can't fare the ferritory"
    Runningfire began to heave the rabbit over the newly established territory boarder. She stopped almost directly on it and puffed out a mouth full of fur. She sat down with a plop, still exhausted from her run and take down. Gingerly taking a paw and swiping it over her face to clean the blood from her white maw. Although clumsy, she was still proud of her catch.
    A thought had occurred to her though, and she pricked her ears. She turned to look back at the ground she had taken down the rabbit. There was hardly any blood, but there must have been the scent of, Lightingclan, rabbit, and death there now.
"Do you think we should explain what happened? It would be bad if something as silly as this started another fight..."
    Her ears grew hot with embarrassment again...if this did start another fight, it would be her fault! She shook the thought away 'I'm not giving Treeclan enough credit, no cat is that prickly' Poor Runningfire still didn't fully understand the clan boarders like she should.

Ears twitched in annoyance, though the emotions didn't show on the she-cat's face. Her brother's soothing to her reprimanding didn't help the dynamics of the three cat patrol. Redscar lived in the moment, he wanted glory and battle, he wanted to make a name and a mark. There was nothing wrong with how her brother thought, it just wasn't the way the silver-gray warrioress thought.

She was wise, not that Redscar wasn't, she just used her brain more than her brawn. She looked for angles, worked for strategies, and kept an eye on the past, present and future. She used previous battles to plan for future wars, she monitored the actions of each bordering clan, and how they took something, and devised a way to catch them off guard, to retrieve what was stolen. She was cautious, strategical and wise, she wasn't out for the glory. She was out for the win.

Long limbs shifted as Owlcry moved her paws. Those wide eyes watched as Runningfire made her way over the border with her rather large, and impressive catch. "Explaining wouldn't solve anything." She said after a minute, she turned her back towards the Open Woods, in which was currently considered Treeclan territory. "Any clan reacts the same if a cat chases prey over the border to make the kill. Lightningclan included."

The she-cat flicked an ear again, letting the winds blow over her tongue as she attempted to catch a scent, be it prey or cat. Wide amber eyes glanced over a slim shoulder back towards Treeclan as she felt that annoyance slightly rise again, she could scent cats from the rival clan making their way closer. It looked like Redscar would get to play with Treeclan today.

Turning back around, keeping her paws clear of the border, if that's what it was called, the scent being stale and faint, easy for a cat to pass over it as Runningfire had. Owlcry narrowed those orbs of hers, "Keep your guard up," She paused to look at her brother, "But don't rush into anything." She wasn't about to go back to Lightningclan and tell Redstar why she and her two clanmates were battled and bruised.
