The ginger and white tom stalked his way back into the camp. He was just coming back from the Dawn Patrol, so he was a bit tired, but not much. First thing that the tom had gone and done though, was he went and grabbed a mouse from the kill pile and settled in a shady spot beneath a tree to eat it. His paws were a bit sore, and he knew that it was because of the fact that he had been on them all night. He probably should have slept, but instead, he had been more wanting to just stand and walk around the camp. Something was bugging him, but even he couldn't figure out what. But for now, the ginger and white tom just laid in his spot and ate his mouse quietly and slowly, he wasn't about to gain a stomach ache.

As he laid there, he looked up to see a cat coming to him, what the other tom, he didn't know, but he would let him come over and talk. It was the right thing to do no matter who the cat was.

Calmly as ever, Thistlerock walked over to Firecloud, wide awake and alert. He knew the other tom had just come back from the dawn patrol and wanted to hear any news they might have brought in. It was unlikely that it was very exciting if the entire Clan hadn't been notified, but, it was worth a try. He settled down next to Firecloud, not too close to cause their fur to touch, but not too far away that it wouldn't seem like it was coincidence that Thistlerock chose this spot. He said in his low-toned voice, "How are things this morning?" He almost added, Anything noteworthy? but he didn't want to seem like a monger of inter-Clan tension. He didn't like battling like his brother Rippedear did. He watched Firecloud devour his piece of fresh-kill and suddenly realized he was hungry. Thistlerock could go for nearly two days without eating before it began to gnaw at him, and he had done just that lately. He was pretty sure no one noticed, or else they'd mention it to him. The reason he did this was because he was sure someone else needed the food more than he did.

His ears perked in the direction that the walking was coming from. When he looked to see whom it was, he flicked his tail lightly in a small greeting. Thistlerock was one of the toms here who was always wanting to know what was happening and Firecloud respected that about him. Firecloud moved over a little before the other tom settled next to him. Firecloud didn't mind the interaction, but he was kind of glad that Thistlerock didn't settle directly next to him, like some of the other toms like to do sometimes.

Then the questions started and the ginger and white tom chuckled lightly but he nodded. "All was good today. Nothing out of the ordinary thankfully." Firecloud ran his tongue of her paw for a moment before his tail wrapped around his body. He moved so that he could place his paws under his chest. Firecloud looked back at Thistlerock though and he thought for a moment. "How have things been for you Thistlerock?" He figured that he could come up with a real conversation, not just something that would last  little while.

Thistlerock hm'd at the other tom's report, "That's good to hear." No trouble from another Clan. He settled down further, getting comfortable. It seemed as if Firecloud wanted to make this conversation longer than Thistlerock originally intended. That was alright. "Things have been fine. Just living in my brother's shadow, as always." He joked mildly, Rippedear was certainly a larger-than-life figure even when he wasn't trying to be. Thistlerock used to enjoy the fact that his littermate drew attention away from him, but lately he'd been coming out of his shell and desiring his own time in the limelight, as it were. Not that he wanted to be as big as a showoff as Rippedear, just...it was hard to explain. "I know I don't talk much to anyone. I've been thinking of changing that about myself." He paused, then, realizing that maybe Firecloud might not want to delve into that kind of deep discussion. He gave a half-smile to try and diffuse the gravity of what he'd said.

Firelcoud nodded once the other tom spoke after his good news. It was good that there was no issues coming from the other clans, for they could use the break and use the time off. The time to regather their senses and the time to rebuild their once flourishing clan. "Ah yes, the brother gets all the glory, while you sit here and work in the dark." He didn't know how that felt first hand, but he could guess that it was horrible. It sounded horrible to him. Rippedear and Thislerock, they were both different, but still the same in some way.

He looked at the other tom though as he spoke and he nodded in agreement. "Not talking to anyone does make the life seem dull. I know that feeling." He looked at Thistlerock though and he gave a small friendly purr. "How about yous tart by telling me what all is bugging you? I can be a great listener." Her gave the other tom a small smile then before his tail flicked.
