Redstar no more counting dollars we'll be counting stars
The tragic outbreak of disease had lasted almost the whole of leaf-bare, leaving a shattering impact on LightningClan, but it was only in the last couple of days that Redstar had been given the all clear. Having contracted the disease later than much of the clan, she had been one of the last cats to catch the deadly disease which had claimed one of her lives. Of the nine lives she’d received when she became leader, now seven remained, having also lost a life to the battle against StoneClan.
As dawn light seeped through the LightningClan Leader’s den, casting dappled shadows onto the red tabby’s pelt, Redstar slipped into a refreshing stretch, letting a long anticipate yawn depart her jaws before rising to weary paws and padding into the sunlight. Emerging from the shadows of her den, it was rejuvenating to feel the sun’s promising warmth upon her pelt as she stood atop the hill, letting her gaze sweep across the LightningClan camp. By the looks of it, the dawn patrol had just recently set off and several cats were scattered about camp, some sharing tongues, others sharing conversation or prey. Redstar smiled contentedly to herself, after the tragedies of leaf-bare, life was at last returning to normal.
Although Redstar was now free of the disease, she wasn’t quite feeling her usual self yet, so she took more care than normal as she made her way down the hill into the main camp. Dipping her head to passing warriors, her gaze sought out a particular pelt this warm morning. Whilst Redstar had been fighting disease, it had been Firesky who’d made sure life carried on as normal as possible, who’d ensure the patrols were organised and everything ran smoothly. Redstar had a lot to thank her for. But that wasn’t the only reason that she was seeking out her deputy this morning.
When her gaze was at last snagged by the LightningClan deputy, Redstar gave a smile to herself, before crossing the clearing to greet her. When she reached the calico she-cat, she dipped her head, a rumbling purr resounding from her chest, she meowed warmly, “Firesky,” she smiled, her gaze flickering over the LightningClanner, “Do you have a moment?”

Firesky LightingClan Deputy Fifty-Two Moons ### WORDS @littleflower NOTES BLABLA |
It was a miracle that Firesky only got a minor cough compared to LightningClan's leader but she thanked StarClan. Not that she would ever want to ill wish her leader but she was thankful nonetheless. Dawn had quickly become her favourite time of the day, especially in new-leaf and the calico she-cat was welcoming the warmth in her mix-matched pelt. Returning to her side was her russet coloured mate, he brought with him a freshly caught field mouse and placed it on her paws. She offered to share the plump meal but he declined and rejoined his place beside her and begun to groom her pelt with a soft purr. She grew a little sleepy after finishing her meal in his comfort but with a swift lick over her ear she opened her eyes and heard his voice mention that Redstar was coming toward her. She got up to her paws quickly and pushed down her chest fur with a few rapid licks as Russetfall rose up to sit behind his mate. She nodded her own head in a polite non-verbal greeting before flicking her ears as Redstar's question.
"Of course, Redstar." She replied standing up and giving her mate a soft nudge against in farewell. "We can go out of camp or to your den which ever you choose. " She added after a moment not really sure the nature of their meeting but was confident in her standing with her leader not to fear anything, perhaps Redstar wanted to talk about extending their borders a little to hopefully bring in more food but instead waited for Redstar to lead the conversation.

Redstar no more counting dollars we'll be counting stars
The red tabby leader dipped her head apologetically, “Sorry to disturb you,” she murmured, her amber gaze flickering behind the calico she-cat to her mate, “It shouldn’t be too long.” "We can go out of camp or to your den which ever you choose.” At Firesky’s words, the red tabby leader’s ears flickered towards her den. Her tail flourished from side to side, “I’ve spent much too long in my den lately,” she murmured, “A breath of fresh air would be much better, I should think,” she smiled slightly.
Rising to her paws, she gestured with a flick of her head towards the camp entrance, her gaze briefly trailing to the LightningClan deputy for a moment. Crossing the clearing, the vibrancy of birdsong greeted her ears and she smiled quietly to herself. New-leaf had always been her favourite season, it was always welcomed after the dark days of leaf-bare, a light at the end of a long dark hill.
She slipped out of camp before at last turning to her deputy once more, realising that the calico she-cat had been waiting for her to speak, "Let's head towards the StoneClan border," she motioned with a flick of her tabby-striped tail up and away from camp. Silence ensued for a moment as the red tabby she-cat began to lead the way, carefully picking her path. Whilst she'd been sick, she'd had a lot of time to think. With her clan recovered from the sickness, she'd been thinking a lot about attempting to reclaim the sun stones. It would bring in more prey for her clan and she'd been meaning to try and extend the borders for a while, now was the perfect time.
"I meant to thank you for leading the clan so well whilst I was sick," she meowed softly, her gaze flickering over the calico-furred she-cat, "You'll make a fine leader someday," she smiled, long white whiskers twitching. The soft breeze ruffled Redstar's pelt, refreshingly cool compared to the sun's bright warmth. She tipped her head upwards to the sky for a moment.
Padding onwards, the red tabby leader at last began to speak of the reason for this little outing, "I've been thinking recently about the possibility of extending our borders," she began, letting her words hang in the air for a moment before continuing, "I've been particularly thinking about the sun stones. They lie on our border after all and if we were to take them, it would bring in more prey," she paused, "I think it's time we take what should be ours."
She let her gaze skim across the path ahead, falling silent for a few moments more. They'd reached the StoneClan border she realised. The small red tabby she-cat stopped just before the border, her gaze straying into StoneClan territory, "We're recovered from the sickness at last, I think the time is right?" her gaze met Firesky's, "What about you?"

Firesky LightingClan Deputy Fifty-Two Moons ### WORDS TAG @littleflower NOTES BLABLA |
SPEECH Firesky remind quiet as she kept her pace with Redstar, the taller she-cat had a slight advantage when compared with her shorter deputy, but the calico she-cat never let it show and kept her pace with ease. A nod of agreement had her paws heading toward the StoneClan border, a prickle of excitement filled her pelt. She still remembers the battle that made her warrior, the rush of memories had a fire sparking deep in her belly and an itch under her pelt for a fierce fight, but she remained composed.
The kind compliment was bittersweet, she had always been a proud cat. Proud of her mate, her kits and her ability to lead but never was she proud knowing that one day Redstar would be dead at her paws and LightingClan in mourning as she rose to her full leadership. A reply caught in her throat, it wasn't a taboo to talk about a deputy rising up but to Firesky and the friendship that had formed between the two of them made it difficult to discuss and qith a nod of gratitude Firesky didn't speak on the matter. Her attention kept on listening to her leader and keeping track of where they were in terms of closeness of the border and possible threat.
The mention of taking the sun stones had a light shining in Firesky's eyes as she nodded in approval, doing her best to calm her excitement. While she wasn't the type to encourage war, she was the type to think of her clan first and claiming those lands would provide her clan more prey and thus a healthier clan, something everyone wanted to see. A tactical cat, Firesky twitched the short nub that was her tail as the plan started to form in her head before the answer came. "I think that is a smartl idea, LightingClan needs all the prey we can get and adding those stones will be perfect" She meowed in response.
"There are two ways we can do this, silently and slowly or quickly with quite a yowl." She looked around her for a moment a felt a sense of uneasiness, planning an attack out in the open wouldn't be smart, but discussing one and remaining vauge wouldn't be too difficult. "I think we should attack as soon as possible. The sooner the better so that we may go stronger before leaf-fall. How soon we can get a raiding part built?"[b/] She asked her leader with respect, honestly Firesky would be eager to bury her claws in a foe, but she wouldn't dare over step her role as deputy and take away Redstar's choice of when it was to happen.

Redstar
Firesky's response to her suggestion brought about needed reassurance and the red-yellow tabby she-cat allowed a small smile to break at her deputy's eagerness. "There are two ways we can do this, silently and slowly or quickly with quite a yowl." Redstar gave a warm purr, Trust Firesky to start planning right away. Exhaling quietly, the LightningClan leader seated herself less than a few tail-lengths before the StoneClan border, letting her eyes swallow up the territory before her greedily. After a pause, she at last answered her deputy's question, "We've been quiet for long enough I think," she let her eyes flicker over the calico she-cat, "It's about time we made a bit of noise," she gave a grin, revealing white fangs.
"I think we should attack as soon as possible. The sooner the better so that we may go stronger before leaf-fall. How soon we can get a raiding part built?" Redstar gave a nod of agreement. Acting quickly was certainly the best away about it, there was no doubt in that, but when exactly? And how exactly would they do it? The red tabby she-cat shuffled her paws, amber orbs misting over as she pondered the mass of thoughts quietly.
Hesitating momentarily, Redstar offered a plan, a hint of caution to her voice, "We need to go about it carefully," she murmured, giving a flourish of her tail and letting her eyes sweep the ground before her before at last meeting her deputy's eager gaze, "I think we should aim for in a quarter-moon or so, no longer than a half-moon," she gave a brisk flick of her head as if trying to rid water droplets from her whiskers, "I'll have to talk with Rookfrost and Snowheart too, we'll see what they think."
After her brief pause, the LightningClan leader rose to her paws once more, keen to keep moving in case any warriors of their neighbouring clan were about, "I think we should have two battle parties, maybe even three, I can lead the first one and wait at the border for a StoneClan border, then we attack," she looked to her deputy, ready to accept any suggestions from her deputy, "We'll let them think they have the upper hand by having a small group of cats, but then you can leap in with a large party of cats," she let the suggestion weigh in the air, listening to her own words as she formed them, trying to visualise in her head how it would work, "That's only a suggestion of course, if you have any ideas, just throw them out."
Redstar lifted her head, allowing her eyes to scan the sky above, "What time of day should we act? We could try dawn," she trailed off, contemplating the suggestion, "Or perhaps in the evening, when their warriors will be more tired and less prepared for trouble?" The tabby she-cat drunk in the air, tasting the many scents and flavours that rushed through her. The thought of battle was both exciting and also perturbing. It would be wonderful to claim some more territory for her clan, but each time she led her clan into battle, she felt the responsibility for every single one of their lives. Warriors weren't supposed to kill in battle but as of late, their had been rather a lot of casualties and losses. This battle would surely be a small one though, they would have the upper hand and the element of surprise. It should be a quick fight; StoneClan would soon realise they were beaten and retreat, with luck. Redstar just hoped it all went to plan.

Firesky LightingClan Deputy Fifty-Two Moons ### WORDS TAG @littleflower NOTES BLABLA |
SPEECH
It was important both to Firesky and also to the relationship she had with Redstar to remain silent as her leader talked. A deputy's role was to give advice when needed and be a strong and steady presences in a leader's life, deputies came and went, leaders had more than one life to live. With a flick of her fire red eyes Firesky looked back toward the territory of StoneClan. It had been a few short moons since she sent foot there and part of her wanted to do so again, having the extra prey was nice and vital for a growing Clan.
Her short tail swayed back and forth as she built mental battle parties in her head. Redstar was right, two raiding parties would be key, but also would be the placement of these parties. If she lead one and with the smaller and faster warriors, they could cross the border and come up behind the StoneClan patrol, cut them off to ensure a victory. Redstar could for glory purposes lead the larger warriors to be the brute strength to take on the patrol and force them back only to not have an escape.
The door way was open as Redstar asked for her suggestions, framing her ideas into words, Firesky waited for Redstar to finish before adding her input. "Two parties would be important, one of faster and smaller warriors like myself to cut off any retreating StoneClan cats, a group with you at the lead of larger more brute strength warriors could be smart to catch them off guard. I think the best time do so would be just before sunset. We can mark the border and wait, give me a signal and I'll lead my party to cross over and block their escape." She replied, looking up toward the clouds above her, the thought of this raid and all the prey it would bring sparked a sense of noble purpose in the she-cat.
