Bloodtalon had to admit his apprentice was coming along nicely, despite her generally… VERY annoying attitude. She had a love of battle that won her some points with him. She was a little easier to deal with when they were pummeling each other in battle practice. She was also highly independent, which he liked. She didn’t follow him around like a little lost kit, and while he enjoyed being feared and respected by others, he found the unreasonable awe apprentices generally showed their mentors to be stupid and annoying. He sure didn’t get that from Seedpaw. Annoying in and of herself, she actually had a decent amount of NON-annoying qualities, as far as little she-cat apprentices went anyway.

He enjoyed their training sessions… their battle training sessions. Bloodtalon hated teaching hunting techniques nearly as much as he hated hunting. It was a boring task. Pitting your skills against some dumb prey animal was hardly challenging. Worse than that was when it WAS challenging. How could some stupid mouse get the better of ANY cat ever? It was infuriating! Needless to say, Bloodtalon and Seedpaw spent much more time on fighting than they did on hunting. Let some dimwit warrior hunt for the Clan. Bloodtalon wanted nothing more than to hone Seedpaw’s raw talent and desire for battle into the perfect fighting machine. So it was with advanced fighting techniques on his mind that Bloodtalon sat waiting in the center of the hidden thicket for the arrival of his apprentice, taking her own sweet time again, he was sure. Idly, he flexed his overlong claws for which he was named as a warrior. Seedpaw should be ready to receive her own warrior name soon.

Dangerous pale green orbs watched the large tom from their hiding position in the tall grasses surrounding the area in which Bloodtalon was waiting almost impatiently for her to show up. Her tail moved behind her like a silent snake as she pulled herself closer, almost as if she were hunting a mouse. Quite on her paws, but quick so she could catch him if he tried to run away. But her mentor was the farthest thing from a mouse. She knew from experiences, and even had a few scars across her shoulders to prove it.

The beautiful young she-cat had come into her body with time, she was tall, long legged to point out as well as being long and lithe. She defiantly wasn't the stocky, little she-kit she had once been when she first started her training with Bloodtalon as a Treeclan apprentice. She continued to pride herself with a deadly beauty, but now she had a deadly grace and attitude to back it up, she defiantly had become a queen of late. Of course her confidence didn't help much, she was boastful and proud, but she was easily able to back it up, with all the help from Bloodtalon in her training over the past few moons.

She had grown rather fond of her mentor lately, something that rather surprised her, considering her whole kit-hood and most of her apprentice life she had tried to attract Wormpaw like a bee to honey, with no avail. The beautiful she-cat was, of course, a catch to anyone who could possibly try to tame her. She was a wild spirit, and only one would be able to tame her wild heart and claim her as a mate... one day.

Pale green orbs flashed as Seedpaw moved slowly before darting forwards, leaping up to tackle Bloodtalon to the ground, her paws stretched forwards as her long body flew forwards, intent of knocking the larger tom off his paws in hopes of pinning him to the ground for once. She was often a good match for him, but maybe this time she could pin him and claim victory against the all mighty Bloodtalon of Treeclan.

One could not move quickly and silently at once. Stealth required constantly keeping track of your own body and surroundings, all at once, ensuring nothing was out of place or in your way to give away your position. Seedpaw had done well to conceal herself from him initially, but her dash toward him quickly alerted the massive tom to the fact that he was not alone. He turned as she launched herself at him, claws instinctually unsheathing. His apprentice’s scent washing over him as she made contact saved her from a rather brutal counter attack. Instead he allowed her to take him to the ground, rolling with the momentum of her strike in attempt to squash her beneath his massive bulk. Whether he succeeded or she managed to get away from the tactic, he would leap a short distance away, claws still unsheathed. He crouched slightly, eyes narrowed as he teased, “Are you a NightClan cat, sneaking around, too afraid to face your opponent head on?” His tail flicked with amusement.

Ambushing was actually a great tactic for Seedpaw to use, especially against cats like him that were much larger than her. It simply wasn’t a tactic Bloodtalon favored for himself, preferring to face his opponents, to make sure they knew he was there, and beating them anyway through sheer force. His favored battle style was not the correct style for his apprentice, however. His teasing was also a veiled compliment. Everyone knew NightClan were the best ambushers, the stealthiest of the Clans. Comparing his apprentice’s skill to the Clan’s ability was about as close to a compliment as one could hope for from Bloodtalon. He did not give compliments easily and openly because he did not want any cat to ever think they could not improve, that they had mastered anything. He firmly believed every cat should strive to constantly improve their skills. Earning your warrior name did not mean you knew all there was to know.
