Name: Oak [Possibly Fallenoak, if he joins a clan]
Age: 45 moons
Gender: Tom
Clan: None
Rank: Loner
Picture:
Description: A powerful tom, Oak's muscles are clearly visible rippling beneath his sleek pelt with his every move. It is obvious that this cat isn't built for speed, though he can hold his own, if necessary. Boasting a flawless coat and nearly zero scars, he also doesn't appear to be a hardened fighter, but it is easily discernible that he is a successful hunter just by looking at his impressive build. A short furred tail snakes behind this large tom and his wide, yellow eyes seem always to be on the alert. That is, when they aren't alight with his laughter.
Description Summary: A muscular, short-furred, brown tom with yellow eyes.
Personality: At first glance, Oak's imposing figure may lead one to believe that he is a stern, humorless tom. That however, is not the case. Stubborn and reckless, Oak will be the first cat to rush headlong into danger without looking where he is going. He is a cat who doesn't take kindly to strict rules and restrictions, and who likes to be as free as possible. This often leads to his butting heads with any other cats he happens to comes across, and paired with his adventurous streak, it gets him into more trouble than most cats his age should.
A joker, and sometimes even a prankster, Oak can be difficult to get along with. He seems capable of turning just about anything into a joke, which oftentimes gets him on the bad side of those he might hold dear. He means no harm, it is just his nature. A day in life is not worth living to him if it is not full of laughter. On this same token, he enjoys attempting to cheer up others with his humor, though he is rarely successful. Given his immaturity and slight lack of common sense, he tends to only make the situation worse, but it is not for lack of trying.
Though it may take this tom a moment to grasp the graveness of any given situation, he can prove to be a spectacular friend if you can learn to deal with his tricks and jokes. He is loyal and has a natural and powerful protective nature over those close to him. Incapable of wishing any bad upon another cat, this tom does what he believes to be right, and has learned to withstand the consequences provided he was wrong. Oak can be generous and is known to love kits. If he ever wrongs another, especially if they are a cat near to him, he can be very remorseful, too. But, it's hard to tell, what with all of the humor mixed in with his apologies.
History: When Oak was young, he had his littermates and older siblings to play with. With all of those eyes around him at all times, the tom grew to crave attention, trying to outdo his brothers and sisters and get the maximum amount of time in the limelight as possible. It is from this that his clownish nature arose, and it has since persisted. Pulling pranks and joking and tricking his sibling eventually led to his being given the cold shoulder by them all. During one such situation as this was when Oak's life changed.
After having pranked a group of his older siblings, he had received their scorn and the disapproval of his littermates, and was then left to watch them all leave in a huff. Their anger didn't affect him at the time; it rarely ever did. But, when he followed behind them a few moments later to give them a joked riddled apology, they were nowhere to be seen. His parents too were missing, and it was then that the young tom began to panic. To this day, he knows not what happened to them, but assumes that the two-legged creatures had something to do with it. He'd rarely seen them before, but that day their presence was felt, and he caught a few glimpses of them after his family disappeared. In his fear, he was unable to act, and now his last memory of them is their backsides as they walked away in anger.
Old enough to fend for himself at the time, Oak hunted and stayed alive, eventually forgetting just about everything about his past. During one hunting excursion he felt certain would end in failure, he managed to find something... but, it wasn't prey. A tabby she-cat locked her sullen eyes with his, and Oak's blood ran cold. The tom is unsure how, but he managed to form a relationship with this cat - who he learned was named Dawn - that later blossomed into love. That flower withered and died before their first little of kits was so much as born, however, and Oak was raring to leave the pregnant she-cat when she asked him to stay for the sake of the kits. He agreed, but was not happy with the thought.
Their fights grew more frequent with every passing day, and Oak will admit that he had threatened nearly daily that he would take the kits away from her. One day, he decided to act on those words. The three kits - Topaz, Elder, and Mink - were left alone with him while Dawn left to make dirt. This was his chance. Topaz was asleep in the back of the den at the time, and for whatever reason, Oak couldn't bring himself to wake her. He coaxed the other two kits into following him away from the den, and they complied for a few moments. But, it seemed that they had wizened up to the situation before long, and eventually refused to move another inch. That... was not part of the tom's plans.
Abandoning them there that day was probably one of the worst decision Oak had ever made, but he couldn't go back and face Dawn's wrath and the disappointment of his own kits. Watching the two toms as they roamed alone, he posed as clan cats, slipping into their territories for seconds at a time in order to bury a kill and flee. In this way, he helped the young kits live, but he was not content with things the way they were. Eventually, he revealed himself to Mink and Elder, and though there was no jump for joy at his appearance - which he knew would be the case - the three came to an agreement that Oak would train them so that they may better survive.
For a few moons, he was a constant in their lives, but living on the clan borders as they had been doing could only go so long without a mishap. Oak had decided, believing the clans to be civilized and organized, that he would leave Mink and Oak at the borders and stay out of their lives for good. Armed with what he had taught them, they could survive together, and he hoped that, in time, they would come to join a clan. They would be safer that way, and Oak knew it to be so. He, however, decided he would not be fit for clan life and continued to try his best to stay out of their sights. Every so often, thoughts of the two toms rise, but he never doubts that they are okay. It is the fates of Topaz and Dawn that worry him, and he wishes that he could go back and ask their forgiveness for his actions. If he were to really see them again, though, chances are that he would have no idea what to say.
Other: Father of Topaz, Mink, and Elderpaw; former mate of Dawn.
