Description: Nothing about this peculiar looking loner would suggest that Spark is a particularly cuddly cat. From head to toe, Spark is covered in a thick pelt that will only grow thicker and bushier as he ages. The tom's fur looks and feels like pin-pricks. He is not easy to touch or easy to love. Instantly, the strange consistency of his pelt makes the kitten somewhat of an outsider, clearly being of unusual or "mixed" heritage. Spark's fur color is also unusual because it is very inconsistent. His pelt is black speckled with a gray-white color; somewhat similar to salt and pepper being mixed together. Most cats have never seen another tom with such a pelt color. Not only this, but Spark has a small criss-crossed mask of pure black outlining both of his eyes in arrows. This feature will become more defined with age.
Spark also has very intense yellow-orange eyes that are very similar to the color of fire or flames. His eyes are reason for his name-sake and the personality Spark grew into is simply a result of his childhood environment and has nothing to do with his name sake.
Spark's body is unusually long and athletic. The tom has somewhat larger-than-average ears and is very tall and slender, even for a kit. The kitten's body usually would give him an edge in terms of all clan details. The tom's slender body and long, quick limbs make him a great hunter and his tall, yet not at all bulky size makes him light on his feet. Unfortunately, Spark is not very light on his feet. The kitten has a significant injury that, because he was a kit and for the most part alone, never mended the way it should. Though as Spark ages, the tom will learn to be quick on his feet again, the loner still needs to get used to not using the leg (not to mention the fact that at his age, the injury is not completely healed and still causes him a great deal of pain). Spark's leg often evokes pity in other cats -- which is not at all his intention. The kitten's front left him is completely bent backwards and the bone that was snapped when the injury occurred has regrown in that direction, forever rendering that limb useless.
Description Summary: A gray-black speckled kitten with a black mask, intense orange eyes, and a twisted front leg.
Personality: While being of good heart, Spark is often not seen as such. Most cats take one look at his strange appearance and his twisted leg and steer clear or liken the kit to a monster.
RECLUSIVE
Spark is not a chatty cat. It is hard for cats to get past the cold exterior to a warm, emotionally sensitive inside and often Spark likes it that way. The tom does not particularly like to get tangled with emotions; particularly those that are the negative variety -- and stays away from a social life because of it. Spark finds joy in the beauty of nature -- flawed and unflawed. Nature is the key to his joy and peace with himself.
ENVIOUS
The tom is somewhat bitter about his injury and its limitations. Spark does not like others to comment on it and may sometimes verbally lash out at a cat when his actions are unwarranted. Spark does not want to be pitied for his injury and is very sensitive about it. His biggest desire in this sense is his desire to be like the others. Spark wants to be normal. He does not want to get looks of pity every time he takes a stroll. Because of his desire to fit in, Spark has a sense of envy. The tom usually does not let this nature get this best of him, but can be vindictive about others normalcy. Spark's jealousy, of course, fuels his negative behavior and actions.
ATTENTION-SEEKING
Despite his desire to be like the others and his outside gruffness that makes him hard to like or understand, cats who get in his heart definitely describe him with this term. Spark has a mixture of motives fueling his desire to help people. The obvious being that he enjoys making those who have been kind to him happy in return. The other part of his emotion is not as well-intentioned: it is because of his desire to seek attention and approval. Because of the injury and the loss of his parents, Spark is struck with a strange loneliness that exists between wanting to talk to others and express himself and not wanting to interact with those who might do him harm. Spark will certainly risk his life for his friends and cater to their every whim without a come back. He values the little friends he has a great deal.
KIND
Spark is a kind soul who has a good heart underneath all the mess. The kitten is just a cat who, in his young life, has already been forever changed and has made a lot of mistakes of his own.
History: Fox and Flame, father and mother respectively, are responsible for Spark's presence and his suffering. Spark was born with 2 other siblings and was born a happy and healthy kitten with a good soul and a strong pull to protect his siblings from harm. Flame and Fox were in love, but the mating and pregnancy were not exactly welcomed by the father because the litter was born in Leafbare and the parents on their own could barely support themselves. The father wanted the mother to join a clan or give their kits to a clan to be raised healthily -- but the mother selfishly denied because she loved her kittens.
So -- when Spark and his siblings were born, they were welcomed to arguments that eventually blew out of proportions and involved violence. During the kittens' first moon of life, Spark tried to enjoy the life of a kitten with his siblings and keep his siblings sheltered from their parents' disagreements. Spark's modest home was located just near a small cliff and he and his siblings often played near the hill, each of them daring the other to go off the cliff but none of them doing it -- purposefully. One day Spark did tumble over the edge of the cliff but was under watch by his parents and was snatched up by his mother before he could really be harmed.
An argument ensued between his parents -- his mother wanting to move the kits to a safer location and the father staunchly suggesting the safety of their current location for other reasons -- such as its seclusion from most other cats. During the argument, Spark tentatively padded up to his parents and blatantly took the side of his mother. The kitten, who was born very mature for his age, talked about how much he loved his siblings and wanted them to be safe. He sided with his mother against his hard-headed father.
But his father was something more than stubborn. He was something sinister. The night after the argument, Fox took Spark from his den and forced him to jump off the cliff in anger for not supporting him. Spark's body was mangled and loosing blood quickly. When the parents "found him", Fox mourned the kit like any father would. The mother, nor the kits, suspected any dishonesty on the father's part. The family then moved away to "get away from the sadness of the kit's death" and never returned. A loner belonging to a loosely constructed group of MountainClan found the kit's body and found him to be struggling, but clearly alive.
When the kitten awoke, he was questioned about where his parents were -- as a two moon old kitten, Spark certainly was not capable of living on his own. Spark told them he did not know where his mother had gone.
The kitten also denied having a father when questioned. Clearly this impossible, but the kitten stands by it, not giving Fox's whereabouts, name, or any hint of his existence. He claims to be fatherless.
RP Example: Nope
Other: Hephaestus! Oh and he is still recovering from his injury.
