Leafbare had not been kind to the she-cat with the rosy-cream colored fur. The lack of a proper meal in almost weeks had left her thin, though she made up for this underfed appearance by grooming her extra fluffy pelt to perfection, the winter having caused the winter coat to come back with a vengeance. Swiping a damp paw over her facial features to give them a quick wash, Roselight got up from the center of RainClan's camp, her direction switching towards RainClan's newly appointed deputy rather than the nursery, her original intentions being to check on her best friend Henfeather.
Receiving her orders to lead a patrol, Roselight accepted them with a gracious dip of her head, her cerulean greenish blue eyes revealing none of the inner turmoil she'd been feeling most days. Her heart felt constricted at times, knowing there was no such word from Blazehawk, from by now she had discovered to be Blazestar thanks to the gathering - oh how she should've gone! He was sick and there was nothing she could do about it!
Feeling frustrated enough to scream, the she-cat drew in a few deep, steadying breaths, before calling into the warrior's den to two Clanmates in particular; "Gorgelight! Tideripple, are you two in here? Razorfang wants us to go on a patrol."

The light silver tom perked his tired head out of his nest, the last few evenings of sleep were uneasy, he missed his mate dearly. Her nest beside his was empty and cold, she wouldn't be sleeping next to him for many moons to come, however, she would be bringing to him a family. Giving his fur a few quick licks the warrior rose out of his nest, exiting the den and headed toward Roselight's voice. "I'm ready." He meowed, stifling a yawn and wiggled his entire body to wake himself up a little more. His eyes drifted toward the nursery, wondering how Brighteyes was. He was going to visit her but with his warrior duties in the way he had to wait, so instead the silver warrior sat beside Roselight, his head in other place until Gorgelight joined them. [/style]

And now I'm walking in the park And all of the birds, they dance below me Maybe when things turn green again It will be good to say you know me GORGELIGHT
The icy world had been hard on the warrior, like it had for all the other cats in the clan. The tomcat's unusually colored coat did keep him warmer than the other cats in the clan but the things that mattered -- the food, the water, the sleep -- these things still evaded the muscular tom. Through the colorful, patchy coat, the warrior could feel his stomach pulling itself inwards from the lack of food.
Gorgelight did not complain about his needs. They weren't dire -- or at least the warrior didn't think so. Anyways, what was the use in complaining? It didn't really do anything for his clan, did it? It did not put food in their bellies or warm the cold. The patched tom did not even bother.
Though, every cat needed a break now and again. It wasn't as if Gorgelight needed to tell all of the five clans about his exhaustion. The warrior simply slinked off in the direction of the warrior's den and took a nap. When he entered, the only other cat in the den was Tideripple. He certainly won't mind me napping, Gorgelight had thought before he plopped down solidly in his nest, tucked his paws underneath his fluff, and slept.
The tom did not sleep for long, but then again, he did not need much. The warrior was awakened to Roselight beckoning for him and Tideripple. 'Gorgelight! Tideripple, are you two in here? Razorfang wants us to go on a patrol,' the she-cat called out to the two of them. Gorgelight was less than eager -- his body felt particularly stiff in the old after his nap and felt hunger clawing at his belly when he awoke. Still, the big tom scrambled to his paws and shook of any moss that clung to his pelt. 'I'm ready,' Tideripple had called out near Gorgelight before the tom had a chance to chime in. The warrior gave a curt nod in agreement, suggesting he was ready to proceed. The colorful tom did not want his voice to betray him.

Roselight felt a small amount of regret over having stirred both toms from the warmth of their nests, Tideripple in particular probably hadn't been getting much sleep considering how excited he and Brighteyes, his mate likely were about their upcoming litter. Roselight wished them all the best in bringing new lives to their precious Clan, but she couldn't completely deny the little pang of jealousy she felt over their happiness.
She hadn't had much happiness for herself lately, not while Blazestar was still so far away from her and recovering from his illness. Even if it took one of his lives - and Roselight prayed every day that it didn't - he should still have eight more to not only give to his Clan, but to spend some time, even if it was just a little, with her. The thought of seeing him again put the strength back in her limbs, and Roselight dipped her head apologetically to Gorgelight, noticing how...worn out the other tom looked. "Let's check along the StoneClan border, I caught a rumor that there's been a little squabbling over the Sun Stones again."
Roselight was far from some kind of warmonger of a cat, but she wouldn't ignore the burning curiosity she had over everything and anything related to LightningClan. For a brief instant, Roselight wondered if she might spy the LightningClan queen Dovesong while she and the patrol headed out that way. Oh but that wouldn't end well - Gorgelight and Tideripple would be sure to chase her off, not to mention she would have to bury her feelings and do the same should they find the other she-cat on their territory.
Flicking her tail for the two warriors to follow, the cream-furred she-cat plodded onwards, stepping lightly through the snow that had just fallen this morning, the bright overcast making her squint her blue-green eyes against the overwhelming world of white they were heading right into.

gave his pelt a shake and waited for the other warrior, as he came out of the warrior's den, Tideripple gave a respectful nod to him before rising to his paws and following the younger Roselight out of camp. She mentioned that StoneClan was where they were heading, his old friend Fawnchaser was from there, however, Tideripple doubted they ever meet again unless at a Gathering. Tideripple was to be a father and it wouldn't be smart to let a rival clan know of new kits being born, she could become a target. Was Tideripple being rational? Surely a rival Clan wouldn't steal another clan's kits? Still, the fear remained and his heart lurched thinking of Brighteyes defending his daughter while he was away at a border patrol. With a silent vow the tom would spend most of his time around the nursery, protecting the queens inside and doing minimal warrior duties. He was focused almost entirely on the safety of his family. Tideripple followed after Roselight and thought back in his memory about any StoneClan cat troubles. They had a few when he was younger, he barely remembers tussling with a sandy colored warrior when he was younger, she was long legged she-cat. While Tideripple never learned her name he remembered her being a skilled fighter and if they were at risk of being attacked, surely three cats would be enough right? If not Tideripple was sure he'd be able to run back to camp faster then the other two and be able to warn the other for help. Vultureback was a cat that came to mind, he spent a lot of time on his side of the territory, Tideripple could remember many times the saw the warrior coming from this side, surely Vultureback would be a better cat to talk about StoneClan invading. Yet, the silver warrior didn't say much he wanted this patrol over and done with. [/style]

And now I'm walking in the park And all of the birds, they dance below me Maybe when things turn green again It will be good to say you know me GORGELIGHT
Gorgelight pricked his dark colored ears back and dipped his head towards Tideripple as the other warrior passed and approached Roselight. Everyone in RainClan had heard about Tideripple and his mate, Brighteyes and was excited for the new litter of kits that were to arrive any day now. And yet, the patched warrior wondered if Tideripple was up to the challenge. The other warrior looked worn to the bone both by a harsh Leafbare and the anxiety of waiting for his mate to give birth. Gorgelight wondered if Razorfang had made a smart decision in bringing the other more winded warrior along on the patrol, but he shrugged. While Tideripple looked worn down, it might be nice for the tom to get his mind off of his coming kits and out of the camp and around his mate.
The warrior padded a few steps forward to stand next to Tideripple and Roselight. 'Let's check along the StoneClan border, I caught a rumor that there's been a little squabbling over the Sun Stones again.' Roselight informed them, and Gorgelight nodded. The two clans had always squabbled about this particular, fuzzy region within the boundaries of the two clans. With Leafbare in full swing, Gorgelight expected the the fighting over this territory would be particularly fierce, as usual. Any place where there might be prey is a place worth fighting over, Gorgelight thought to himself and shivered a little in the cold.
The soft-spoken warrior strode a few steps out of the entrance to the warrior den and padded a few steps in the direction of the camp's exit. Halting, Gorgelight turned to address the other two RainClanners. "W-w ... What if we aren't e-enough?" Gorgelight mumbled, unsure of who to address. "W-what if we are attacked?" Gorgelight asked unsteadily. Three warriors would not be enough against StoneClan if they felt they needed to physicaly quarrel with them about the borders.

The question Gorgelight stammered out surprised Roselight, her blue-green gaze swerving to face the fluffy patchy tom with evident consternation; "We'll fight back if we're attacked," she explained with sharp calmness. Hadn't that been an obvious question? Roselight felt confident in their Medicine Cat's abilities, so if they were injured in a potential fight, then it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Besides... Contrary to where her heart lied, Roselight was still loyal to RainClan. At least that's what she told herself so she could sleep at night. "If there's a bigger patrol than we're expecting and it looks like we can't handle it, I guess retreat would be our smartest option."
Roselight's eyes darted to Tideripple's. He was the oldest one here, if her memory served, and his input would be very much appreciated in this type of situation. Though Roselight had more or less fallen into the leadership position on this little patrol, it wasn't because she had more experience than the others or somehow had an answer to everything; it was more or less because she'd taken the opportunity to step up when the others hadn't wanted to or made any inclination to do so.

The concern spoken by Goreglight brought a faint eye roll to the light sliver tom and an even slightly annoyed sigh from his lips. Flicking his tail he looked from the two before clearing his throat and rising his head up. "We fight back, simply as that. If we are at danger of being over whelmed the faster of us shall return to camp and warn Razorfang or Sandstar, whom ever is in camp. " Tideripple paused for a moment his pale eyes looking from the two younger cats, a slight surprised look in his eyes. He was taken back by how easily he told them what should be done. Tideripple didn't like expression rank or age over the two, instead he much rather be a wise source of knowledge for younger cats and with the statements and concerns brought into the open, Tideripple was pleased to be an experienced cat. "I think we will be fine, StoneClan is like use they are hungry and tired, few of their warriors will be close to the border and those who are I highly doubt will be enough to injure us. We are going to be fine. Now lets hurry and get there." He spoke again this time a little more stern as he walked ahead of them for a bit. [/style]

And now I'm walking in the park And all of the birds, they dance below me Maybe when things turn green again It will be good to say you know me GORGELIGHT
Gorgelight winced as both the other warriors, who he respected greatly, seemed to openly mock him with their words. Of course, I know that if we are attacked we attack back and get help. I was simply suggesting that we gather at least one more warrior or apprentice to tag along, Gorgelight thought to himself, but didn't roll his eyes like most cats would. The words of the other cats stung and the young warrior sighed. The patchy warrior, due to his horrid social skills and his stutter, made him often completely misunderstood. I am made a fool of, put out like I am dense and ignored, Gorgelight thought to himself, peering at the two other warriors, his eyes gleaming with hurt.
The tom glanced away. He knew that he shouldn't let his inability to properly express himself get in the way of his relationship with the two other warriors. It's not as if they could ready my mind and know what I was asking, Gorgelight reasoned with himself and turned his large head towards Tideripple, who looked like he was about to speak. 'I think we will be fine, StoneClan is like use they are hungry and tired, few of their warriors will be close to the border and those who are I highly doubt will be enough to injure us. We are going to be fine. Now lets hurry and get there,' Tideripple told them and Gorgelight simply nodded his head, afraid to speak and make a fool of himself once more. Tideripple was very logical in his response and it eased Gorgelight's spinning mind for a moment. If anyone knows what they're talking about, it's Tideriplle, Gorgelight decided in that moment, dipping his head toward the older tom. While Roselight was perfectly coherent and intelligent, her sharp tongue marred her credibility and forced Gorgelight into a position where he questioned her judgments and motives, rather than simply accepting her opinion like anyone else's.
Tideripple seemed to be edging closer to the exit of the camp and Gorgelight pawed his way ahead to meet up with the older tom. While Roselight had called them to the patrol, it did not mean that she had to be the ring leader. Simply put, she was not a reliable enough source. Roselight seemed to be the cat to spend more time insulting Gorgelight rather than giving a proper, respectable response.
With her being in the group, it also meant that Gorgelight would have to take caution and process what he said before he spoke it. Gorgelight did not need to be emotionally battered when he was simply trying to do his duties as a warrior. The patchy tom would have to keep his thoughts to himself. At least in my head, my voice is crystal clear,Gorgelight thought.

Roselight had never been one for long explanations, though she usually gave all the information necessary to help others understand her decision; she was used to being treated like the young warrior she was, however, Roselight would be lying if she said she was...all here.
Her heart and mind were both a whirling mess, distracted thoughts that had her eyes drifting in and out of focus, only the sound of Tideripple and Gorgelight walking nearby actually bringing her back down to earth. Roselight's memory suddenly churned up the scene where she and Blazehawk had been discussing what to do about StoneClan, about how he would so willingly do whatever it took for his Clan, and for their relationship... Feeling a pang of loneliness for the tiger-like tom in LightningClan, Roselight glanced to the StoneClan border coming into view, her eyes narrowing as though she had spotted movement. "Guys," she mewed lowly, rosy eyes pricking forward with interest as she lingered, trying to scent whatever it was that was hiding or preparing to possibly ambush them from the StoneClan side of the border. Despite the possibility of a threat, Roselight wasn't feeling too alarmed.
Whatever it was, they could handle it.

He had followed a path similar to what the three Rainclan warriors had taken, a mild concern toward their performance with one another having the Deputy in a nearby proximity. It wasn't that he lacked faith in any of the Rainclan cats. Although, their conversations before departing from camp hadn't gone undetected by Razorfang, to say the least. With the distant look glazing Roselight's eyes, the worrisome tone of Gorgelight, and the distraction of Brighteye's litter for Tideripple... perhaps it would have been smart to assign himself upon that patrol as well, this thought alone being precisely what had caused Razorfang to hunt so close by.
Thankfully, the tom had managed to score himself a scrawny mouse in the time he had actually dedicated to the hunt. Since that is what he had informed Sandstar of before his departure, he found it necessary that he didn't return to camp empty pawed. Now that he at least had one piece of meat, more or less, clamped beneath the ferocious grip of his pointed teeth... he could check in on the patrol he had sent to assure they were doing well.
Razorfang wasn't oblivious to how close his hunt had gotten to Stoneclan. In fact, he was quite pleased that the patrol was checking in on that particular border with the rumours that had recently stirred. The tom's ebony ears pricked forward, Roselight's voice detected by sharpened senses located in the Deputy's eardrums. “Guys,” the single word was clearly directed to Gorgelight and Tideripple. Perhaps, Roselight had scented something? Razorfang – forming his own curiosity – lifted his own nose to the air and sniffed greedily. The aroma of Stoneclan was definitely present, but that was to be expected while near their border. Nothing overly strong had captured Razorfang's attention... until a realization kicked in: did Roselight mistake Razorfang's nearby presence as a Stoneclan intruder? You think she'd recognize the distinction between Rainclan and Stoneclan. The black furred tom had to stifle his desire to snort. But, it was an honest mistake, if it was indeed the one being made.
The Deputy's shoulders raised with the inhalation of oxygen, falling into their original placement to complete his slightly agitated sigh. In the off chance it was Stoneclan Roselight had scented, and Razorfang's own sense of smell was momentarily oblivious due to the position difference; he found himself approaching with cautious maneuvers after burying his captured moue into the soil. The tom indicated his nearby presence with a soft huff, assuring the foliage rattle as lightly as possible as to not completely spark a surprised reaction out of the three cat patrol. The large, muscular tom flanked himself beside Gorgelight; gray-green irises flickering over Tideripple before resting on Roselight merely a step or so ahead. His presence was merely to provide assistance, or even a reassurance of safety in case Roselight's remark had caused tension for either Tideripple or Gorgelight.
Rainclan's safety had always been at the top of Razorfang's priorities. But, now that he was Deputy, that desire to keep his clan safe had seemed to multiply. He wouldn't stand by and allow Roselight, Gorgelight and Tideripple to face a Stoneclan patrol, even if it was a false alarm. He had heard Roselight's comment, and was now here to offer another combat-oriented paw if required.
