[style=font-family:Nothing You Could Do; font-size:46px;]Russetkit Don't be such a wet leaf, Roselight! I said I wouldn't wander...FAR. Whiskers twitching, tail held high like a flag, Russetkit strolled through RainClan territory for what was probably the hundredth time since he'd decided rebelling was more fun than following the rules. Even though Willow Stream was a preferred romantic spot for RainClan's couples, Russetkit knew there wouldn't be many out and about - not when the weather was changing and they were coming into leaf-fall, the needs of the Clan trumping their own desire for leisure time. "I claim this stream in the name of RussetClan, any trespassers will be made to eat pebbles!" He proclaimed, humming contently to himself as the kitten flopped into a sunny spot near the water. He was a strong swimmer, as most RainClan cats were, but he just wasn't in the mood to be wet right now.
To be honest, he was a bit bored. Maybe I should go find Blazehawk again? Rather attached to the LightningClan Deputy, Russetkit knew no borders, only open roads to friends, enemies and plenty of adventure to go around.

Tideripple
I'm immature but I'll stay this way forever Until the day I die
------------------------------- Tideripple having excused Redpaw for the day, seeing that his apprentice needed a good relaxing day, Tideripple enjoyed his own as well. The walk to the willow stream was calming not to metntion beautiful. THe last time the tom had made his way to the lover's lane was when he came across Brighteyes, his heart still hammered in his chest when he thought of the she-cat.
His ears flickered bringing his attention to the sounds around him, a small kit like squeak pushed his paws faster, pausing just a moment before crashing into the small clearing to hear Russetkit claim his clan.
A chuckle rumbled through Tideripple's chest as he watched the tom-kit threatened anyone who trespassed to eat pebbles. Tideripple was careful to ease his way around the tom-kit to come on the other side, a playful sparkle in his eye.
"So, RussetClan takes up territory here now?" Tideripple spoke, drawing attention to himself, as he walked forward, dropping down to a crouch to be more eye-level with the kit.

[style=font-family:Nothing You Could Do; font-size:46px;]Russetkit The red kitten turned around, his eyes bright at the sudden appearance of Tideripple. I smelled him before I saw him! Awww yeah! Overly pleased that he was starting to act like an apprentice, Russetkit puffed out his chest, winking at Tideripple as if he were about to let him in on some big secret; "Yep. I don't know if you know this yet, RainClanner, but this stream and all the fish in it belongs to RussetClan and Russetstar - named after me, because I'm the greatest, you know -- but I'll let you have some if you ask nicely." Russetkit's tail was up like a banner, and he was purring with his own self-satisfaction. "If you reaaaally ask nicely," mewed Russetkit, licking a paw and rubbing it over his whiskers before continuing, "I, the mighty Russetstar might let you join if you swear undying loyalty and sing my praises to the other RainClanners."
Even though Tideripple was much older than him, Russetkit was the kind of ambitious, charismatic little fella who liked to make a friend in everyone - no matter how old or how young. Tail swaying from side to side, the kitten looked to the older tom with curious eyes, whiskers twitching as he struggled to keep his 'business face' on.

Tideripple
I'm immature but I'll stay this way forever Until the day I die
------------------------------- Charming laughter came from Tideripple's maw as he listened to Russetkit's little spill about RussetClan being the best clan, Tideripple enjoyed the spirit in Russetkit's heart and admired him for his youth and charm. Tideripple returned to his full height and looked down toward Russetkit and nodded his head respectfully.
"I Tideripple, of RainClan swear my loyalty to you Russetstar of RussetClan" Tideripple said before sinking back down to be level with Russetkit/star. Tideripple's eyes sparkled with a playful nature, he enjoyed to indulge kits, let them have all the aspirations they can dream of, after all they grow up fast. He waited for Russetkit/star to accept him as a noble member of RussetClan, a innocent and playful game and brought out the more childish side of Tideripple, in a very relaxing way.

[style=font-family:Nothing You Could Do; font-size:46px;]Russetkit Delighted, Russetkit opened his mouth to let out a yowl of joy, before the kitten remindered that fearless leaders with twenty lives didn't yowl unless they had a really good reason for it. "I, Russetstar, leader of RussetClan, accept your loyalty." Little fangs showing in a grin, Russetkit leaned forward and pressed his nose to Tideripple's as though in ceremony, purring contentedly, green eyes shutting. Another friend! That made Roselight, Blazehawk and Tideripple, oh and Frostkit, Snowkit and Icekit too! If he had just a few more friends, then they could go on border patrols, and everyone would be able to play at StarClan's Claws together. Russetkit had a bit of a unique view on 'borders'; he viewed them the same way he viewed the separation between Apprentices and Warriors. Everyone should be friends with everybody else, no one's lesser than the other, they were separated only by a difference of abilities and camp-sites. A bit of a pacifist at heart, the little ruddy kitten had no grasp of Clan feuds or anything that might cause them. His views were simplistic, but he truly meant no harm, even if his words sounded like he wanted to take over the whole forest.
Stretching out his front legs into an almost play bow, Russetkit's eyes gleamed. "We should have a race! How about to that tree over there?" The kitten gestured with a thrust of his nose to a tall willow about 20 fox lengths away, not too terrible a distance, Russetkit already bouncing on the tips of his toes.

Tideripple
I'm immature but I'll stay this way forever Until the day I die
------------------------------- Tideripple chuckled happily as he joined the ranks of RussetClan, and touched his nose to the top of Russetkit/star's shoulder. Before returning to a playful composer, laying down and lazily looking at Russetkit a warm smile on his face. He looked at the young kit and his heart warmed up, he wanted kits of his own now more than ever, his paws extended and his claws came out to scrap the ground below him.
Russetkit's energy burst as he asked for a race, Tideripple a sucker for kits gave into his request and rose up to his paws, seeing the tree that the young kit was talking about. Tideripple nodded and got himself into a running position, his rump high in the air. "Ready, set, go!" Tideripple called out, as Russetkit set off at a fast al out pace, Tideripple trotted after the kit, clearly letting him win on purpose, a smile on his face.

[style=font-family:Nothing You Could Do; font-size:46px;]Russetkit Like a mouse running for cover, Russetkit took off, his eyes narrowing as he ran so fast the wind resistence made him tear up just a tiny bit, the leggy kitten bounding forward with obvious delight. Even if Tideripple had been racing him seriously, it was likely the older warrior would've been a bit surprised by how much ground the kit could cover if he really set his mind to it. He ran fluidly, gaining speed the closer he got to the tree, seemingly spurned on by his goal now in sight, rather than slow down in discouragement because of the distance that still remained.
Flanks heaving, Russetkit spun around. "HA!" he huffed, tongue lolling a moment, sheathing and unsheathing his claws into the long blades of grass, now in the shade of the big willow tree. "You're a slow-slug, Tideripple! You're gonna have to be faster if you wanna be a RussetClan warrior!" Crowed Russetkit, half-scolding half laughing, his tail held high in the air like a banner. Okay, maybe a quick rest...and then something to eat... Suddenly, Russetkit eyed the older cat slyly, waiting for Tideripple to approach before mewing in a low voice full of what he hoped was innocent; "Can you teach me how to catch fish, Tideripple? I'm kinda hungry." Looking to the warrior with big eyes, Russetkit slid onto his belly, breathing still not quiet regular yet. Alright so he technically WASN'T an apprentice yet...but there was absolutely nothing wrong with getting a bit of a headstart, was there?

Tideripple
I'm immature but I'll stay this way forever Until the day I die
------------------------------- Tideripple hurried up and covered the distance between himself and the tree, with ease with the extension of his long legs. He stopped in front of Russetkit and looked down, laughing playfull and taking his scolding have heartrendingly. "I'm sorry Russetstar, I'll do better next time"
Tideripple said respectfully bowing his head a little. He planted himself on the ground while Russetkit caught his breathe, Tideripple was impressed the tom speed, he'd be a great cat for land battles, Tideripple had yet to see the tom-cat swim. However he had faith in him since well he is a RainClan. The next statement the young kit made made a chuckle leave the tom's throat.
"Russetkit, I'd love to teach you but it's not fair. I can catch you something to eat but I won't teach you. Leave that for your mentor to do. " Tideripple said kindly, standing up and heading toward the willow stream, a small babbling brook had little hiding spots for fish but a few did dart around. Carefully Tideripple, crouched at the edge of the stream, his paw darted out and brought to the surface a small silver fish. He bit into it and killed it effortlessly, picking it up and carrying it back to Russetkit. It wasn't terribly large or terribly small, but it was maybe just the right size for a kit like Russetkit to get a nice full belly. Tideripple thought to himself, how he so easily care for this kit, made hi wonder how he was going to care for his own. Shrugging slightly he place the fish before Russetkit and stepped back. " Enjoy" Tideripple purred, content with his indulgence of the tom-kit

[style=font-family:Nothing You Could Do; font-size:46px;]Russetkit Aw pine nuts, he didn't fall for it! Alright, he hand it to the guy, he was a lot more...responsible than Russetkit probably would've pegged him for. Though his tummy rumbled at the sight of the delicious looking fish Tideripple had effortlessly caught and delivered - full marks for quickness, in Russetkit's book - the future apprentice was still enthralled with the whole process of fishing. He'd seen Blazehawk catch a mouse before, and that looked pretty cool, but the general diet plan of the average RainClan warrior didn't allow him to attempt practicing such things. Rare was it for a RainClanner to bring home a mouse, not when the river was full fresh, tasty fish instead.
Determined to try even though Tideripple wouldn't teach him, the apprentice-to-be sniffed the fish appreciately, before edging his way around the warrior to the stream, his reflection staring back at him as he leaned over the edge. Russetkit grinned, whiskers twitching as he reached out with a long front limb to bat at the top of the water. This is gonna be as easy as catching dead mice! The kit's confidence was reaching cloud height when a shiny silver fish darted past, and Russetkit lunged, shouting out a completely unnecessary warcry - which almost immediately turned into a yowl of alarm. "AHHH!" Okay, this wasn't so easy! Tumbling head first into the stream, Russetkit felt sharp pebbles jab into his pawpads as he touched the bottom, completely submerged, green eyes stretched wide with shock. Swim! Swim! I gotta swim! But how?!
Flailing rather than swimming, Russetkit did his best to make a break for the surface, but the current was doing his no favors. Just as his head bobbed above the stream's surface for a split second, Russetkit howled, spitting out water; "H-HELP!"

Tideripple
I'm immature but I'll stay this way forever Until the day I die
------------------------------- Tideripple's attention wavered from focused all on Russetkit to just admiring his surroundings. The fresh kill beside him, calling his name to be eaten but he was a good well trained warrior and didn't dare eat it. He would either leave it for Russetkit or take it back for someone to eat at the camp, either way he wasn't going to eat it not without feeding the elders and queens first.
Lazily his eyes started to drift close from the warmth of the sun and it's alluring affects of sleeping. However just as he was going to lay down a yowl echoed in his ears and he frantically jumped to full alertness on his paws. Russetkit had slipped into the water! The current wasn't terribly strong, but it would be for a kit who hadn't yet learned how to properly swim. Quickly, Tideripple waded into the water until the middle of his belly was soaked, he looked for Russetkit and just as he really started to panic. He saw the young kit shoot up from below and yowl for help. Without thinking Tideripple's jaw fallowed right after him, grabbing tight onto his fur, pulling him quickly toward the shore, his powerful legs kicking them both back to shore.
Dramatically he laid Russetkit on the shore, as his legs threatened to go out, the adrenaline coursing in his veins running on empty. "That was mouse brained" Tideripple panted, trying not to glare but he didn't hide his frustration. "You could have died" Tideripple said flatly, barely keeping his legs standing as he looked down at Russetkit however he went down and kindly nuzzled Russetkit's scruff which possibly was tender from the way Tideripple had pulled him out of the water.

[style=font-family:Nothing You Could Do; font-size:46px;]Russetkit Russetkit shivered from the tip of his nose to the length of his tail, spitting out water before pressing against Tideripple for warmth, ears pressed flat to his skull as he stared at his paws, out of it. Tideripple's concerned words snapped him out of his state of disbelief, the kitten shaking the water from his pelt and letting out a small wail. I almost DIED just now... Russetkit glanced to the stream fearfully, feeling the urge to shrink back closer to Tideripple and never come back to this place ever again. But a sneering voice at the back of his mind made his heart prickle; What kind of a RainClanner is afraid of water? Not me! he answered, green eyes blazing like twin emeralds. Trying to steady his nerves, Russetkit padded over to the fish Tideripple had caught for him earlier, and took a small bite, not wanting the only thing in his stomach to be water. "Thanks for pulling me out, Tideripple," spoke the kit clearly, Russetkit not the kind to crouch sulkily and mumble whenever he was in trouble - he'd own up to his mouse-brained attempt at fishing. Owning up to his own mistakes always made him want to try harder, to get it right the second time, but Russetkit was admittedly in no rush to try fishing again. Not right now. He'd try again in the camp stream that was too low for him to drown, now that his legs were long and stronger than a 3 moon old kit's. He was nearly an apprentice! The sun would rise a dozen more times before he finally got to stand before Deadstar and receive his apprentice-suffix and his mentor.

Tideripple had to admire the young's tom's spunk however he understood how it felt, trying to do everything at once. With the missed adventure that Russetkit tired to have, Tideripple couldn't help but feel that this time at the willow stream was spent.
"Lets go home Russetkit" Tideripple said kindly picking up the fish and carrying it in his jaw as he nudged Russetkit with his tail, heading back home.
