Personality

ashwhisker can most often be described as chivalrous and loyal, sometimes even to a fault. he carries many of the traits of what he believes to be the ideal warrior, acting noble, courageous and generous to those around him, especially his fellow clanmates. he is a well-intentioned, kind and trusting young tom, not unlike his adoptive older brother and former mentor, stagheart. ashwhisker had greatly looked up to stagheart, and took on a fair amount of his personality in hopes to carry on his legacy post-mortem. as well, many aspects of ashwhisker's personality also come from his adoptive father, bearstone, seeing him as a great and wonderful warrior for helping ashwhisker and his younger siblings out when they needed someone most and taking them under his wing.

that being said, he has also taken on some of their flaws. this can include sometimes being trusting to a fault, to a point where ashwhisker can even be rather gullible and easily misguided or mislead by any cat who might want to use his chivalrous beliefs for their own gain. if someone can spin a situation to make it seem as though it is the "right" thing to do, ashwhisker could very well drop just about everything to do something for the greater good of it all.

ashwhisker stands on the slightly smaller side of average for a tom of his size, even with his long fur sometimes making him seem a little bigger than he actually is. in fact, because of his long fur, regardless of the fact that he's a full-fledged mistclan warrior, he has a tendency to avoid swimming anytime he can. while he's perfectly happy fishing, and in fact, loves it, he can sometimes simply find that his long fur can get incredibly heavy when he goes for an actual dip.

ashwhisker's feathery fur is a lovely light silver tabby colour, with a cute pink nose and kind green eyes which often give him a pretty or cute appearance, sometimes being doted on for his sweet demeanor only adding on to his overall kind and open appearance.

History

ashkit was born the only kit in his litter to nightclan couple greyflower and patchnose. he had an overall very average kithood, though he was very much doted on by his parents, as he was their only kit to a set of parents who wanted a big family. so, with that being said, not long after ashkit was weaned, his mother was once again pregnant, and not long after he became an apprentice, his mother gave birth to two kits this time: a tom named burdock-kit and a she-kit named hollykit.

however, ashpaw's apprenticehood caused his entire world to come crashing down around him. when the earthquake hit, he managed to help his younger siblings get to safety, but his parents were both killed. as well, in the chaos of the earthquake, ashpaw, budock-kit and hollykit ran quite a distance, becoming separated from the majority of the former clan cats and becoming lost. it was fortunate that burdock-kit and hollykit were old enough to have started eating fresh-kill, so ashpaw would hunt for himself and his younger siblings while mourning the loss of their parents and trying to raise them as best he could.

the three of them wandered for some time, likely even farther away from the valley where their former clanmates were beginning to settle once again. but one day, while out hunting, ashpaw stumbled onto what had now - unbeknownst to him - become mistclan territory. he was caught by a mistclan warrior by the name of bearstone, but when he introduced himself as ashpaw, former nightclan apprentice, bearstone showed kindness and charity to the young tom. he helped bring burdock-kit and hollykit back to mistclan camp, where they were integrated in the new clan and taken under the wing of bearstone as an adoptive father.

ashpaw became the apprentice to bearstone's son, stagheart, and became practically enamoured with his new older adoptive brother. he was kind and trusting, almost to a fault, and doted on ashpaw in a way that even reminded him a bit of his parents. he was constantly praising the apprentice on the things that he learned in the short amount of time that he had become separated from the clans and the way he stepped up for his younger siblings to help take care of them. near what would likely be the end of ashpaw's apprentice training, he was out on a border patrol when a skirmish took place and stagheart lost his life. bearstone greived heavily for his son, aiming his greivances towards gorgeclan and blaming them for stagheart's death. ashpaw spent the final moon of his apprenticehood without an official mentor, but rather, being trained in group sessions with some of the other apprentices, including his own siblings, burdockpaw and hollypaw, who had received their apprentice names by that point.

ashwhisker received his warrior name a little later than the average apprentice, primarily due to making up for the lost moons that he'd been separated from the clans. he has since become a deeply loyal warrior to mistclan and indebted to his adoptive father, wanting to become the best warrior he can be to help repay the debt he feels he owes to the clan.
