Full Name: Dappled Sunlight Through Canopy Leaves
Common Name: Sunlight or Sun
Age: 36 Moons
Clan: Tribe of Forgotten Waters
Rank: Cave-Guard
Gender: She-cat
Image: Sunlight 1 Sunlight 2 Sunlight 3 Sunlight 4 Sunlight 5
Short Description: A large black, ginger and white tortoiseshell Maine Coon with large paws and yellow-green eyes
Description:
In size, Sunlight is a large she-cat though she is not the biggest of her litter as she falls within the middle of her two sisters. However, due to her size she automatically fits into the Cave-Guard category as she as broad shoulders and a thick frame in which thick muscles lie below her coat. The length of her fur makes her look even larger, and her paws are large and equipped with extra toes on both front feet. While she is equipped easily for protection and battling the fact that she is not nearly as large as her father and sister gives her the ability to be somewhat quicker on her paws than most large felines. Her hind legs are strong enough to enable Sunlight to leap high lengths as well as jump from ledges and boulders with soaring abilities. She has a large, square head common to those with Maine Coon genes as well as a fitting snout and large ears.
In color, Sunlight is a mixture of many which lead to the reasoning behind her Dappled name. As a tor tortoiseshell she-cat, she inherited the same colors from her mother just in a different and similarly unique collage. Sun-kissed ginger, shades of dark and light black, and patches of white dance across the long length of her soft fur. While she looks somewhat similar to her mother, Sunlight has a larger stature but she is also a bit lighter in color compared to the older she-cat. All four of her large paws are completely white, though her toe pads are a mix of pink and black. She also sports a white throat and soft underbelly. Her large muzzle is a mixture of white with small patches of ginger, which is also somewhat similar to how her mother's muzzle markings happen to be, and very long white whiskers. Her tail is long, thick and very feathery while her ears sport a tuft of fur in ginger and black, respectively. She has wide, and very intense yellow-green orbs that are very telling of whatever emotions she happens to be feeling within the allotted time and moment. While possibly the only hint of tabby markings on her body, Sunlight bares a ginger 'M' on her forehead within the similarly colored patch between her ears.
In markings, Sunlight isn't old enough to bare a large amount of scars of damage to her pelt and/or skin but since she is a Cave-Guard and it is her duty to protect the Prey-Hunters, she has scored some markings that hide beneath the denseness of her coat. A score of markings across one of her shoulder's due to the sharp talons of an eagle during an outing one day and a hidden scar somewhere on her flank from coming in contact with a rather curious badger that had wandered into the Tribe's territory in which several Cave-Guards were dispatched to get rid of. Otherwise, the young she-cat is sure she will eventually gain more marks throughout her hard working life within the Tribe.

Let's Dig Deeper
Personality:
- + Skillful - Sunlight has a natural talent in her specified field of being a Cave-Guard. She was always quick to pick up things and quick to master certain techniques and abilities. Growing up, she became naturally protective due to the fact that her youngest sister was frail and sickly as a kit. Not only that but she also watched the stoic and dutiful way her father fell into such a roll, and in a way it inspired her to do the same. Despite the fact that Sunlight is able to quickly pick things up, she often is working on ways to still make herself better, faster and stronger. Just because she has the ability to learn faster than some doesn't mean that she is better and constantly finds ways to improve her abilities or to learn new things to improve her overall performance.
- + Dutiful - Perhaps a trait that Sunlight gained from her hard working father, she is constantly doing her job to the fullest of her potential within that moment. To her, the role of Cave-Guard isn't just her title within the Tribe, it is her life and her duty. Every day it is the same routine to her, wake up and make sure the others are well taken care of, whether that means guarding the entrance, following the Prey-Hunters around the territory or training To-Be's within their journey to becoming full fledge members of the Tribe. She lives and breathes the role given to her at birth, as if it were the ancestors themselves who decided just what Sunlight's role and abilities would be before she was born. Because of her dedication, she views her job very seriously and will get very frustrated and cross with her Tribemates that seem to be more lackadaisical in their jobs.
- + Reliable - This could be considered similar to Dutiful but at the same time it is as much different. Sunlight just isn't good at her job and quick to help when needed, she is also a very loyal molly who is always there for those who need her. She makes a great friend, even if she can be a little harsh when it comes to duties being done properly, but in moments that are softer or quieter she can step away from that ridged idea to be a shoulder for others to lean on. An ear who is always open no matter what. She loves her family, as shown by her dedication to keeping her younger sister safe, as well as her Tribemates so much that she takes her job with the upmost seriousness. If anyone needs helps from her she's always going to deliver what is asked, not to mention she is humbly proud about the fact that she is considered reliable.
- +/- Fiery - Sunlight has a strong personality, and like her namesake she can be a brilliant flame among her peers. She is one of those Cave-Guards that most cats talk good about, perhaps even a she-cat to look up to but the same thing can be said about her boisterous and unique attitude with many things, including her natural competitive spirit. Sunlight can be easily considered a spitfire when it comes to toms, a flame they wish to tame despite the potential unyielding heat it bares. She is also fiery in the way that her mood can easily be switched if irritated or rubbed the wrong way; specifically when it comes to her duties as a Cave-Guard. While she is generally regarded as a fiery she-cat in a positive way, it is also shown as a negative trait when she gets riled up about things that make her angry.
- +/- Perfectionist - While this can be a good trait, and it normally is, Sunlight often struggles with finding a fine line between positive and negative features of being a perfectionist. She takes her duties seriously and makes sure she performs at the top of her game about one hundred percent of the time, even if she is sick or injured. There is no slacking, there is no days off, and while she makes sure that she takes care of those who need her protection this leaves little time for her to actually take care of herself. Whenever Sunlight feels she has failed at a task or something of the like, she will honestly work herself into the ground by training to get better or by overworking herself. There has been several times where she has collapsed from exhaustion by working herself too hard for too long.
- +/- Competitive - A natural thing that often runs in a cat when there are siblings, Sunlight does show a competitive nature towards Shimmer as the two are both fairly big and both fall into the category of Cave-Guard. However, most of those who fall in the category of Cave-Guard are faced with the naturally competitive Sunlight as she uses it as a way to both push herself and learn where her fellows are at in the level of their abilities. While this can generally be a good quality, it can sometimes go to her head making her quite a stubborn and vicious competitor. Not that she would ever do anything disrespectful or dishonorable, it just occasionally swings into a negative trait on occasions or if she is pushing herself way too hard.
- - Critical - 'No-one is more critical of you are than you are of yourself' is literally an ideal that Sunlight lives her life by, and unfortunate negative trait that eats at her quite often. She is constantly picking herself apart in an attempt to make herself better, she doesn't want to be the reason something gets messed or someone gets hurt. Her duty as a Cave-Guard is everything to her, and though she doesn't have the size of Shimmer or her father, Sunlight has a bad habit of comparing her abilities to them. She's not strong enough, she's not big enough, not to mention the exertion she adds onto her body when she over trains herself due to thinking she had failed in a certain area of her supposed expertise. This plays heavily on her anxiety, always worried that she isn't good enough or that she could do better.
- - Temperamental - To say that Sunlight has tortitude wouldn't be an understatement. She is quick to shift her attitude like a drop of a leaf, though it was relatively worse when she was younger, it doesn't mean that she has grown out of it either. While she is usually level-headed and calm, it doesn't take much to shift the balance into different directions such as competitiveness, irritation, or anger if a cat just wanted to push her buttons. Her expressions and emotions are easily read in the depths of her hues and the pulls of her face, so even if she is having a mood swing another cat could easily see what she was feeling. A lot of times her inner anxiety can make this trait more extreme than it needs to be, especially if she is stressed and scared, or stressed and angry.
- - Impulsive - Sunlight has a bad habit of leaping before thinking, especially when it comes to her tribemates. If she thinks a prey-hunter is in danger she will act, something that extends all the way back to her kit days when she stood protective of Firefly who ended up becoming a prey-hunter. However, this trait doesn't just extend to her actions it also extends to her mouth. She is distrustful of the Clans who live in the valley and sometimes her tongue lashes out before her brain can register what she's saying. This could also be a hindrance to future relationships if she doesn't have some sort of control over her words. She could also potentially be that cat that accidently blurts out her feelings without taking a moment to think about it before hand, especially if her anxieties rose.
Give me your Family Tree:
- Father: Rising Shadow at Dusk - A massive silver-black Maine Coon tomcat with yellow eyes and huge paws, 68 Moons (Cave-Guard)
- Mother: Dawnflower || Flower that Blooms at Dawn - A slender black, ginger and white she-cat with medium length fur and yellow-green eyes, 65 Moons (Former Stoneclan Warrior || Prey-Hunter)
- Sister: Shimmer of Morning Dew - A massive, mostly white calico Maine Coon she-cat with faint black and cream patches, a thick smokey tail, golden eyes and huge paws, 36 Moons (Cave-Guard)
- Sister: Glow of Evening Firefly - A slender smoke and white medium length tortoiseshell she-cat with yellow-green eyes, 36 Moons (Prey-Hunter)
- Paternal Uncle: Gray Clouds of Looming Storm - A massive silver-gray Maine Coon tomcat with a pale mane, huge paws and yellow eyes, 68 Moons (Cave-Guard)
Give me your History:Dawnflower was born and raised within Stoneclan, her parents battle-worn survivors of when Stormclan had driven them from the valley and into the homeland of the Tribe. She and her sister were brought into the world and into the safety of the clan many moons after such a nightmare had occurred. They were raised with compassion and love by both their parents, who were old when they finally decided to settle down and have kits. However, moons into her apprenticeship their father was struck with a terrible bought of Greencough and eventually succumbed to the sickness in the dead of Leafbare. Several moons later, within the prime of her warriorhood tragedy stuck again, though this time it affected all of the valley as foxes invaded in a brutal attack. Dawnflower lost her mother and her sister in the raid against the clans during a supposed peaceful night of the Gathering.
- Kithood:
Devastated by what had transpired, Dawnflower decided to leave behind the rather rugged life of a Stoneclan warrior and traveled out of the valley. She was in the company of a few others who happened to also come to the same conclusion and so they set off to find the more peaceful lifestyle of the Tribe that lived within the mountains above the valley. Upon being accepted and trained for the role of Cave-Guard, Dawnflower eventually changed her name and took up the new title of Flower that Blooms at Dawn. Finding herself more comfortable as the pain of her family's death waned, Flower started to grow close to a massive and rather quiet but intimidating Cave-Guard by the name of Rising Shadow at Dusk.
Shadow was one of the largest tomcats among the tribe, and with his dark coat and stoic personality his name was rather fitting. He wasn't one who showed emotion often and stuck to his job like his life depended on it. Being a Cave-Guard was his only true meaning in life it seemed, as he didn't even show much emotion towards those who were his kin. Somehow, through the time spent together while on the job, the kindness and wholehearted personality of Flower eventually stuck with Shadow as the large tomcat slowly fell in love. Like a proper tomcat of old, Shadow took his time figuring out how to court his new interest in life and only showed a sibilance of emotions towards her when they were completely alone and away from prying eyes or noisy Tribemates.
While their love story was quiet and soft, it was mostly a surprise to the rest of the Tribe when Flower announced that she would be baring Shadow's kits. She respected his decision to keep their affairs away from the rest of the cats, due to his stoic and quiet lifestyle though she was proud of the fact that she was carrying his future offspring. With life much easier in the Tribe than in Stoneclan, she had no fears or worries about brining in a new linage for her forever home and within time bore the Tribe three beautiful she-cats in which, surprisingly, all bore traces of her unique tortoiseshell colorings.
In order their daughters were named, Dappled Sunlight Through Canopy Leaves, Shimmer of Morning Dew and Glow of Evening Firefly. Sunlight, while the oldest was not actually the biggest, even from birth that title went to Shimmer who took on a similar stature of their massive father. However, she was far from the smallest as Firefly struggled with life from the very beginning, as the she-cat was born a sickly runt among a family of rather large felines. While Sunlight and Shimmer were rather healthy, during their early moons they were unable to play with Firefly as she often spent time sleeping or being watched over by Skyteller to make sure she was healthy or in need of some sort of healing.
From a young age Sunlight was aware of the role her paws would fill for the Tribe when it was time for her to leave her mother's side. She took the idea of becoming a future Cave-Guard to heart and even exerted such future ideals into her young kit-self when it came to her smaller and more frail sister, Firefly. Though she spent time playing and practice fighting with Shimmer, Sunlight was known to seek out her youngest sister and sit by her side to 'guard' her during one of her bouts of sickness or even if she decided to take a nap while Flower was out with duties or with Shadow.
