Beavergaze is an unusually large cat (even for a former StoneClanner) that seems to hulk above others. The way he carries himself renders him unmistakable even from a distance, and his thick coat only furthers the impression of his formidable size. A thick, scarred hide covers a tough layer of fat that belies the rippling muscle underneath.
Beavergaze’s distinctive black mask transitions into a fluffy off-white mane and cowl. The chocolate saddle that so often seems to attract burrs and matts melts into a forest of darkening fur along his hindquarters and bushy tail.
Beavergaze seems to always hold a scowl, his brows creased around his icy blue eyes. His seemingly boundless whiskers are rarely drawn forward in greeting, preferring instead to flatten against his fluffy cheeks. With his eyes narrowed in passive judgement of his surroundings at nearly all times, Beavergaze is a visibly perceptive tom cat that little seems to escape.
Scars aplenty have spread themselves across the tom cat's hide, ranging from the tears of his ears to the hairless ridges across his nose.
Beavergaze’s love and patriotism for his clan is so great that it falls squarely into the realm of Jingoism, and can be seen in his historically aggressive and often hostile policy for dealing with any cat outside of StoneClan. In fact, it could be said that Beavergaze is Xenophobic due to his treatment of anyone deemed an outsider to him. He will rarely take time to make a second analysis of another living being. In his behavior and rapid formation of gestalt impressions, Beavergaze’s Severity is made apparent. He is strict and rapid with redress and restitutions. Perhaps due to his upbringing, Beavergaze is quite Precautionary in that he prepares not for failure, but for the inevitable loss of control and unpredictable factors. He seeks to always be prepared, and tries to impend this behavior upon his fellows and peers. Because of this, Beavergaze is kept busy preparing for what could be.
Other cats rarely see the struggles that Beavergaze experiences within his being due to his Stoicism. Though he may seem to always be mildly perturbed, it can not be said to be for any one reason. And though he may be perturbed, he never passes abuse onto his clanmates outside of training. Though he may seem to be severe to outsiders, Beavergaze has the utmost Dedication to his clan and the cats within it. Beavergaze quietly adores every cat in StoneClan from kit to Elder and performs his silent services and late-night hunts without complaint strictly for the betterment of his Clan.
It is no secret that the ever-ardent Beavergaze is also a romantic. Not only is he romantic in his interactions with his love interest, but he seems to romanticize life in the Clan itself. Every struggle is a battle against evil and an early death, and every act of heroism from his comrades is immortalized in his mind. Despite his seemingly traditional nature, Beavergaze is actually quite Unorthodox. He will consider novel approaches to challenging situations, and is unafraid to bend rules to achieve desired results- especially if the stakes are high enough to include the lives of others.
To even the casual observer, Beavergaze’s actions- and to an extent his ideas- are influenced by another. Raggedthroat’s shadow literally hangs over Beavergaze at most times, and the old cat’s snarled murmurs and ideations curdle in the tom’s ears. One could even say that Beavergaze is Directed, as his activity is surely to the most benefit of another. Had he held even a chance against his mentor’s guidance, perhaps he would not be so held to the will of a master.

1-3 Moons – Green Leaf 4; Beaverkit is born. His arrival comes at the end of Green Leaf, Year 4, shortly after StoneClan’s hard won victory over LightningClan at the Sun Stones. However, LightningClan retaliates once more and Hawkstar loses a life. This event marks the kit’s first introduction to a lifetime of violence.
4-6 Moons – Leaf Fall 5; Beaverkit proves to be an eager kitten, and swiftly outgrows his littermates. He is remarked upon for being a stocky, chunky kitten who plays fiercely with other kits. His time in the nursery is perhaps abbreviated, and the heavyset Beaverkit tackles the idea of approaching Apprenticeship head-on.
7-9 Moons – Leaf Bare 5; Though Beaverpaw’s excitement for Apprenticeship promptly wanes upon his assignment to Raggedthroat, his enthusiasm and will to excel never fade. Raggedthroat’s mentorship is a struggle to survive from the very onset; just after being assigned as the grizzled veteran’s apprentice, a fox attacks the nursery. Raggedthroat, never one to pass on a teachable moment, throws him to the vulpines and Beaverpaw’s first taste of combat is against an enraged fox. In the struggle Beetlekit is maimed, another apprenticed named Sootpaw is blinded, and a cat named Fallenleaf is badly injured. Beaverpaw survives with minor injuries and mild trauma.
10-12 Moons – New Leaf 5; Beaverpaw has his first experience with Tribe cats when they come down from the mountain to visit StoneClan. He earns his Warrior name early, as much a testament to his skill and quick learning ability as to the need for more claws; this season foxes continue to be a problem, though no lives are lost. Beavergaze receives the chance to attend his first gathering, something he finds himself excited for after the parlay with the Tribe cats. Raggedthroat refuses to allow him to attend however, and instead trained him all throughout the night and lectures him on how he should never trust the other Clans.
13-15 Moons – Green Leaf 5; The trouble with foxes reaches an all-time high; Ashpaw is killed by a fox. Two other lives are lost to foxes, at least. Beavergaze and Raggedthroat tackle the problem with a ferocity, though the experiences serve to further cement their static dynamic. Still as if Mentor and Warrior Apprentice, Raggedthroat’s commanding control over Beavergaze allowed him to drill distrust and sow self-serving seeds of superiority into the young cat’s mind. While provoking him into fights with monstrous predators, he prepared him to face his eventual and actual enemy: rival clan foes. Beavergaze devoured the lessons, insatiable in his need for the old cat’s validation.
16-18 Moons – Leaf Fall 6; Again Beavergaze is given the opportunity to attend a gathering. Though he is no longer Raggedthroat’s apprentice, it is clear that the old tom’s expectations for the evening remain in place. Rather than attend, Beavergaze and Raggedthroat continue a tradition of training and drilling and sparing long into the night, far from the gathering.
19-21 Moons – Leaf Bare 6; With his third gathering willfully eschewed, Beavergaze’s reputation among the other Clans continues to deteriorate and descend along the same xenophobic lines as that of his ignominious mentor. This season, Sootpaw and Beetlepaw, the two cats from Beavergaze’s youth, finally earn their warrior names and become Sootwhisker and Beetlejaw. Green Cough decimates the Clan and claims the lives of at least a dozen warriors. Raggedthroat is quick to blame the outbreak on disease brought back from the Gathering; Beavergaze is just as quick to agree.
22-24 Moons– New Leaf 6; StoneClan and LightningClan work together to chase a family of badgers away from the Sun Stones. Though Beavergaze and his mentor are willing to fight the badgers, neither of them are willing to work alongside cats from another Clan. During the struggle, the pairs’ non-cooperation goes as far as to allow Badgers to finish off rival clan cats before engaging with and chasing them away.
25-27 Moons– Green Leaf 6; Flooding within the river claims the lives of two warriors of StoneClan. Beavergaze helps assist with the final rites.
28-30 Moons– Leaf Fall 7; StoneClan’s ancient leader, Hawkstar, finally passes away alongside his mate, Frozenrain, and the pair join StarClan. StoneClan’s leadership passes on to Smokestorm, who becomes Smokestar and names an older warrior named Valianstride as her deputy. The Clan loses eight more warriors to various causes throughout the season, leading some in the Clan to believe that they had upset StarClan somehow. Beavergaze quietly reflects upon his faith apart from his mentor.
31-33 Moons – Leaf Bare 7; Though the season is mostly uneventful, Beavergaze does not allow it to idly pass. Training continues with Raggedthroat, and the two enjoy a high point in their relationship.
34-36 Moons – New Leaf 7; A troubled season. StoneClan and LightningClan feud once more with skirmishes at the border. Beavergaze spends these times bloodying his claws by Raggedthroat’s direction, and makes several enemies in the process by maiming rival warriors of talent. A mudslide claims the lives of three warriors as well as Smokestar’s remaining lives. Rather than assuming leadership, the next-in-succession Valiantstride names Birdtalon as the next leader of StoneClan. Raggedthroat is vocal with his disapproval of the ‘weak’ Birdstar being chosen as StoneClan’s next leader. This marks Beavergaze and Raggedthroat’s first disagreement, and subsequently their first fight. Blood is drawn and begins to sour.
37-39 Moons – Green Leaf 7; Tensions remain high between StoneClan and LightningClan following their neighbors’ ambush to try and take control of the Sun Stones. Beavergaze attempts to re-earn Raggedthroat’s respect, but is distracted by a fellow warrior...
40-42 Moons – Leaf Fall 8; As Beavergaze deepens his relationship with the warrior Brinefang, he finds that the act of courting her itself earns him more respect from Raggedthroat than his previous’ moons efforts to gain it back. Encouraged, Beavergaze continues to feel out both his strengthening relationships with Brinefang and Raggedthroat.
43-45 Moons – Leaf Bare 8; Back in his old mentor’s good graces, Beavergaze basks in the rewards of the snarled old cat’s favor- namely the avoidance of ridicule and rebuke. However, and perhaps ironically, the more time Beavergaze spends with Raggedthroat the farther detached he becomes from Brinefang. Eventually, Beavergaze and Brinefang grow apart as Raggedthroat becomes the centerpiece of Beavergaze’s attention. Brinefang quickly finds a mate, leaving Beavergaze to sift through tattering relationships.
46-48 Moons – New Leaf 8; Disgusted by Beavergaze’s loss of Brinefang and by extension a potentially powerful family line, Raggedthroat makes his disappointment known to the confused color point. Having come so close to having both and being left with nothing, Beavergaze withdraws from Raggedthroat and begins to throw himself into his work. Meanwhile, his old mentor adopts a new Apprentice out of spite, and begins the impossible task of replacing his prodigy.
49-51 Moons – Green Leaf 8; With no warning, a massive earthquake splits the valley apart. The landscape is drastically altered during the upheaval, and StoneClan suffers terrible loses during their evacuations. By the time their Clan reaches the mountains to shelter with the Tribe, it is discovered that not only have they been split into limping, stragling groups, but they are left without both a deputy and a leader. Towards the end of Green Leaf, the decision is made to send surveying patrols to discover what has become of the valley as they knew it and if they even have homes to return to.
52-54 Moons – Leaf Fall 9; To be determined..
