[attr="class","flowerbg"]HARESKIP
The Jovial
The Jovial
[attr="class","charactertext"]

Hareskip is a relatively small tomcat, a bit smaller than the average tom. Unfortunately, he didn't get the more prominent genes on his father's side, but that didn't bring him down. Despite his minuscule size, Hareskip has lean muscle that can be felt if brushing past or bumping into him. He doesn't budge easily, but surely a large cat could make him budge. He may grow slightly bigger as he ages, but not much more significant. As said before, he will remain a small feline, not as normal-sized as the average tom. His pelage is a toffee variant of brown, intertwined with mocha, number, and expresso mackerel tabby markings splashed with ash speckles across his flanks resembling the ticked pattern. Most of his mackerel tabby markings are the color of coal in the front and coffee around his hindquarters. Considering Hareskip is a Manx, he technically has a hare's tail. His nearly nonexistent tail was a small nub resembling a hare's tail. The tom's delicate countenance is full of bug-eyed curiosity or, occasionally, boredom. The only alabaster upon the tom is his jowls and mandible, long whiskers extending from the maxilla.
Hareskip is more extroverted, sociable, and enjoys good conversation. The tomcat is genuinely curious about everything amidst him. He's always wondering what's next, but he attempts not to get too ahead. Some may say curiosity kills the cat, and it sure does for this tom. However, if he feels curious about something but has second thoughts, he wouldn't dare chase his curiousness. The tabby is abnormally observant, believing that there aren't any irrelevant actions, not wanting to miss even the most minor things. To satisfy his curiosity, he must take every detail possible, not wanting to miss a single moment in his lifetime. Through observing, Hareskip forms new connections and ideas; he wouldn't be able to hold back from speaking. Enthusiastic about his findings, he is willing to share them with anyone who will listen to him. His enthusiasm gives him the dual benefit of social interaction, giving him sources of new information and experiences. Being a very amiable feline, he is sociable and an excellent communicator. He enjoys both small talk and especially those deep, meaningful conversations making them feel completely natural and unforced. All this adaptability and spontaneity come together to form Hareskip, who is approachable, engaging, and exciting, with a cooperative and altruistic spirit and friendly, empathetic disposition. He can get along with everyone, and his circles of friends stretch far and wide.
Hareskip is a lighthearted tom, knowing just how to relax and let loose if he needs to. Being uptight truly isn't this cat's style, as he believes being joyous and free-spirited is the way to go. How can one enjoy life if they're too focused on going through with it rather than living it? He would never be able to be like that. If necessary, he knows just how to spice things up. Despite his cheery persona, Hareskip is unbelievably competitive, wanting to ensure he has some success. Success is important to the young feline, often thinking about his future. He hopes to become an acceptable warrior or more than that. He wants the best for himself, though, not in a selfish way. Often, Hareskip struggles to concentrate, appearing unfocused, which can indeed be true. It's hard for Hareskip to maintain interest as tasks drift toward routine, administrative matters and away from broader concepts. Unfortunately, it isn't easy to keep the feline's interest, which can be irksome. Sure, Hareskip is independent, but to a fault. He loathes being micromanaged and restrained by heavy-handed rules as he wants to be seen as a highly independent master of his fate, even a possessor of an altruistic wisdom that goes beyond.
While being extraordinarily enthusiastic and such, Hareskip is highly emotional, expressing his feelings too often. While emotional expression is healthy and natural, with Hareskip even viewing it as a core part of their identity, it can come out strongly enough to cause problems for him. The youngster can experience emotional bursts that are counter-productive at best when under stress, criticism, or conflict. With emotion comes his overthinking, which can only stress and make him more emotional. He looks for underlying motives in even the simplest things. It's not uncommon for Hareskip to lose a bit of sleep, asking himself why someone did what they did, what it might mean, and what to do about it. It causes a ton of stress, getting stressed quickly. This overthinking isn't just for his benefit – Hareskip is very sensitive, and cares deeply about others' feelings. A consequence of his popularity is that others often look to them for guidance and help, which takes time, and it's easy to see why he sometimes gets overwhelmed, especially when he can't say yes to every request. Often, Hareskip can be instead moody, which comes with his overthinking, stress, and emotion in general. When he gets cranky, he is effortlessly irritated and snappy toward others.
Born into TreeClan, belonging to the powerful couple, Eelstorm and Doverunner of TreeClan. These two felines are excellent warriors of TreeClan, excelling in hunting for Doverunner and battle for Eelstorm. The pair were known for their snappy personalities and how uptight they could be as well, so most of their clanmates veered away from them. Doverunner is a rather long, lanky white manx while Eelstorm is a heavy compacted tom whose large with muscle. The large tom carries brute strength, which is where Harekit will get his strength from, or so that's the hope. Harekit had been the pair's second litter, considering Quailblossom and Addercloud were born moons before the young feline. When Harekit was born, Quailblossom and Addercloud had received their warrior names just two moons before the birth of the feline. Eelstorm and Doverunner had decided on Harekit for his diminutive size and brown coloration. Harekit was often visited by his older siblings, who would tell him stories about their patrols and experiences. He would never forget the stories, hoping to experience similar situations when he aged.
Harekit was born a sole kit, though he had older siblings from his parent's previous litter. His older siblings had already been warriors, and he constantly admired them and looked up to them, asking if they'd tell him stories. Quailblossom often ignored Harekit's prodding for stories, while Addercloud sat down every time his brother insisted on telling a narrative. Addercloud adored his younger brother, despite his wild persona, bouncing around with the utmost energy. Despite his minimal common sense, he believed Harekit would grow into a robust and athletic warrior. Harekit hadn't spent much time around the other kits, preferring to cling to Addercloud's flank when they were in camp, watched by their parents. He loved watching the camp's entrance, awaiting his brother's return from his duties as a warrior of TreeClan. Harekit had grown up around Riverkit, Rustkit, Wolfkit, Troutkit, and Dawnkit, though some left the nursery sooner than others for their apprenticeship. He was beyond excited for the very day his ceremony arrived, where he'd probably be announced alongside Riverkit since they were the same age.
Finally, the day came when it was time for Harekit's apprenticeship ceremony. The young tom stepped up, the leader calling upon him that it was his ceremony to become an official apprentice, with Riverkit, too. Harekit was renamed Harepaw in honor of his apprenticeship. From there on out, he had lots to learn, experience, and grow. He wasn't the easiest apprentice to handle regarding his challenging mindset. He doesn't seem to concentrate very much on tasks at paw, preferring to disregard his responsibilities. Harepaw attempted to make his mentor's lessons frustrating, often doing the opposite of what's instructed of him, continually developing mischief throughout the next few moons. He enjoyed causing chaos, finding youngsters amidst him who wanted troublesome behavior. His father, Eelstorm, often scolded him to be more mature and act as if he should become a noble warrior of TreeClan. It was highly complex for Harepaw to regard his father's opinions, stressing that he shouldn't have to listen to the older tom. He never strayed away from his way, acquiring his dexterity in accomplishing things however he assumed was best.
Often, he was ignored when he asked to join patrols, considering it was his way of getting out of Camp rather than participating. It was challenging for others to take Harepaw seriously, known for his notorious childish demeanor. It wasn't pleasant when he'd been rejected from patrols, but he'd occasionally sneak out anyway, sometimes caught by the patrol he questioned and denied. It was his way of establishing a point, and it never worked. Harepaw was one of the least behaved apprentices; while others flourished, he scrambled to pick up his paws. Some apprentices earned their warrior names before him, and even the newer kits would tease him for being so behind. Perhaps, this would shift his mentality to work harder for his warrior ceremony, and so he did. He focused entirely on earning his warrior name, driving his energy toward his lessons. He was finally beginning to impress his clanmates, heading toward his warrior ceremony at a faster pace with his contemporary work ethic. His hardworking era presumably wouldn't prevail long, as his concentration would get misplaced due to pressure and feeling overwhelmed.
When the Earthquake hit and started to shred the Earth, TreeClan vamoosed the land briskly, losing a few members in the process, just as any clan probably had. The Quake had completely shredded Harepaw's mindset, causing him to move backward during the rebuilding of Camp, and this new GorgeClan. The new motherland appeared untouched, and it wasn't typical for anyone. He struggled to regain composure, though his mentor continued to push him through to earn his warrior name in this new establishment under GorgeClan. He started to pray to StarClan more, attempting to force the beliefs onto himself, although he was not a firm believer in their ancestors. Since the Quake, he was unsure of whether or not to believe what lies overhead.
After moons of hard work, he was merely exhausted between losing focus and then regaining it. The bachelor hadn't typically put effort toward much other than his joking and troublemaking self. He wondered if anyone was proud of him, but he assumed they weren't since it had taken him various moons, while it only took six to eight moons for most apprentices. It has only been three moons since Hareskip's warrior ceremony, and he is doing relatively well as a warrior. He's not the most impressive feline, but he does accomplish things. He's excellent at enrapturing others; simply making others' day is a task completed in Hareskip's mind. He finds delight in causing a laugh, preferring to stay away from those with a pessimistic outlook on life. He strives to be joyous, providing light to those amidst him.
