AND THE MEMORIES WE'VE MADE WILL NEVER BE LOST BUT THE WIND, YES THE WIND KEEPS HOWLING Brightpaw lightningclan apprentice / tom / 9 moons Brightpaw felt like he'd trekked through half of LightningClan's territory before he found even a trace of fresh prey-scent. It didn't take a genius to figure out all the prey must be hiding in their dens if all he could find was a single starling after being out all morning. Thistletongue had sent him hunting for the elders after she'd been called on the sunhigh patrol, a task he did not envy her for right now. But he wasn't exactly having a blast himself, practically baking under the hot sun he could find no shelter from - after all, he lived on the moor. He didn't have the pelt most of his Clanmates had, instead bearing a thick dark tabby and tortoiseshell coat that wasn't getting any lighter as he trotted quickly through the tall grasses, his jaws parted slightly so he could pant. He paused for a moment, looking toward the outline of trees that marked their border with TreeClan. What he wouldn't give to be a TreeClan cat in that moment, just to shelter beneath the relative shade.
Wait... I can still do that, he realized, his ochre gaze fixing on the trees ahead. The Open Woods was LightningClan territory too - how had he forgotten? And if prey was going to come out anywhere, it would be in the woods right now! He launched himself into a run, fresh energy surging through him at his idea. His hunting mission wouldn't be a failure yet!
As soon as the young apprentice entered the strip of shaded territory LightningClan ruled, he felt relief flood through him like nothing else. The temperature difference between the moor and the shade of the trees was unbelievable. He'd barely stood beneath the trees for a moment when he pricked his ears, hearing the scuttle of something in the sparse undergrowth around him. Brightpaw immediately dropped into a hunting crouch, something he didn't get to use very often since he mostly chased rabbits and birds on the moor. When he inhaled, he could smell a vole - something he'd never caught before. His tail tip twitched in excitement as he crept through the terrain so different to him. He could see the vole now, rustling through the ferns closer to the TreeClan scent markers. A wave of anxiety swept through him; he'd have to catch the vole quickly, before it went into TreeClan territory! With that in mind, he wove through the undergrowth, but he was not used to hunting in it, and he put too much weight on a stick, causing it to snap beneath his paws.
The vole jolted up, alarmed, and immediately dove for cover. Brightpaw was quicker. In a mighty leap only a LightningClan cat could manage, he threw himself at the vole and caught it in his claws, pinning it firmly to the ground before biting its neck to finish it off. "Aha!" he declared, triumphant. The thrill of the kill distracted him for only a moment before he was overwhelmed by the TreeClan scent markers, and realized he'd caught his prey just over the border. Alarmed, he moved quickly back over the border, hoping he hadn't been seen. Technically, the vole had been on his territory when he'd started hunting it... If someone had told Graypaw, that training with the deputy of her clan, was going to be difficult and down right tiresome, she would have laughed off their concern. Or would have waved away their comment with an iron grin , proclaiming that she could handle anything and everything that Pumafang could possibly thrown at her. Time, seemed to have blurred when it came to her time spent with her mentor, but all that she knew was that she was tired. Her entire body ached. Down from her paws, to her tail, her entire body was just a pulsing pain of nerves. Was this what Pumafang had meant, when he had said that she was weak? Too use to the comforts of camp, to even endure so called similarities of training? As easily as the gray apprentice had wanted to announce that her training was too harsh for her to handle and too complain to anyone who would listen, she knew that this wasn't the case at all. She was in fact, weak, and this very notion only wanted her to prove to her mentor and to her clan that she was strong enough to endure hell itself. Even if it killed her. So on that particular day; a time with the humidity was at its hottest and there was no wind to give any type of comfort, the young apprentice was out on her own. The pulsing heat from the sun was felt on the young apprentice's back as she wondered away from camp and out into the reigns of her clan's territory. Her paws steps were light and careful against the cool green grasses as she moved on, thankful for the shading that the trees that surrounded her were giving some sort of shade from the intense glare of the sun above. Eventually the loud noise of camp faded away to give way to the echoing calls of life of the forest and even then, Graypaw continued to move on. Her ears perked up at each sound that came to her, and her nostrils flared taking in the scents around her as well. What exactly was she looking for? The question was a good one, but held not true answer to the depths curiosity lacing through it. Graypaw, was not truly sure, but she moved on as if being carried on by an invisible force. With an intense purpose, or would that be curiosity to take in more of the territory. To take, no to drink in everything that made TreeClan territory theirs, and now in essence, hers. She wasn't sure how long she walked, but eventually a sight of trees came into view. Compared to the forest, she had been exploring before, these group of trees were different...and there was a new scent that seemed to drift from the other side of the clearing, nearest to her. The path she followed, gave away eventually to a shorter cut of grass, and the young apprentice stopped in her tracks, lifting her maw to the air to take in more of the scents. The scent, she had taken in before, was unfamiliar to her and yet she knew without question. It was another clan's territory, which meant she was near one of the borders. She exhaled softly before letting it out slowly. She was safe. She was still on her own clan's side. So there was no reason to worry. A small smile started to pull itself to her maw, at that thought. But then the lingering of curiosity followed suit. What would it be like to meet another clan's cat, this close to the borders? Unfortunate for her, she didn't have to wait long for this answer. It started with a swoosh of air, followed by the thundering sound of paws racing past her. The gray apprentice turned with the movement, light, green eyes following with shock and surprise. She barely had time to register anything before her ears caught the loud "Aha!" that came after a final squawking of a bird dying. The limbs angled forward, and the apprentice blinked, as she took notice of the long haired tabby-and-calico pelt tom. With his back to her, it was hard to see what he was doing but when he turned and made a bound back in the direction, he had come, clearly stunned about something. Graypaw was ready. Surging with sudden unused energy, and clearly not thinking of the consequences at that moment, the apprentice threw herself in the tom's path. She wasn't sure exactly what she had wanted to accomplish with this reckless move, but there was two things that she was very much aware of. One, This tom was not part of TreeClan and two, he had crossed into her territory, whether he realized it or not! So in that mind set and knowing that Pumafang would approve of it, she had done what most would have done. Engage! " Hey!" She would manage to growl out, " Why are you on my clan's territory?" Graypaw was far from the most intimating sort of cat but here she was just hoping that throwing herself at the tom, would help get his attention. Hopefully.

AND THE MEMORIES WE'VE MADE WILL NEVER BE LOST BUT THE WIND, YES THE WIND KEEPS HOWLING Brightpaw lightningclan apprentice / tom / 9 moons Maybe it had been a terrible idea to come here. When Thistletongue sent him out this morning, he suspected she meant for him to hunt closer to camp, not on one of the borders. He'd forgotten in his eagerness, that apprentices weren't allowed this far from camp alone. The beginnings of guilt tingled through him, and as he picked up his vole to move deeper into LightningClan territory, he didn't expect to hear a challenge growled from behind him. Hey! Why are you on my Clan's territory? Brightpaw jumped, his tail fluffing up to twice its size as he dropped his vole and looked at whomever had caught him.
It was a gray bengal she-cat with very pretty, sea-green eyes; but she was small yet, like him, so he guessed she was an apprentice too. That didn't make him any less wary though, or less ashamed of being caught. He immediately dipped his head toward her, flattening his ears to show he meant no threat. He was the one in the wrong, after all, and he believed in this case, honesty would be the best policy. "I'm sorry!" he mewed, hurrying to explain himself. "I knew I was close to the border, but the vole was on LightningClan territory when I started hunting it. I'm not used to hunting in the undergrowth, so I scared it accidentally, and it ran into your Clan's territory when I caught it. I didn't realize I'd crossed the scent markers until I killed it."
Brightpaw turned, picking up the vole behind him and dropping it a fox-length away from the she-cat. "If you feel it would be fair to take the vole back to your Clan since it was caught on your territory, then please take it! I don't want to create any trouble." He glanced almost wistfully at the prey; if she did take it, who knew when he'd get to taste vole? He swiped his tongue over his muzzle, realizing it was the only taste of it he'd get to relish. He glanced around nervously then, as it struck him she probably wouldn't be alone - wouldn't her mentor be near, or a patrol? "Is your mentor around?" he ventured curiously, when he didn't immediately scent any other TreeClan cats nearby. All aggression, and anger, not that there was a lot to begin with, all faded from Graypaw, the moment the tom started to speak. His apologetic words, washed over the young apprentice, like a bath of warm light, and she immediately felt a swell of guilt form in the pit of her belly. Not that she had much to be guilty about, of course! He had been the one to venture into her clan's territory...but why did she feel bad for yelling at him, though? Her ears flicked before folding against her own skull, her eyes trailing from the tom, and down towards the ground in front of her. " It's okay..." These simple words fell from her own maw, before she could stop them and her eyes were quick to dart back up towards the tom. As if she was startled by her own words to him, her expression certainly showed her own surprise. Yet her words held no such surprise in the, " I mean, its not okay but, it is because..I'm sure you didn't mean to come here. I mean you did say you were chasing the vole and it came over here, so...um...its okay..." Even to her, her own ramblings sounded like she was some sort of mouse-for-brained fur ball. She could only wonder if this was all making sense to the other cat. Silence seemed to be her best friend for that moment as she found herself concentrating on her own thoughts. She was not normally this shattered-brained when it came to dealing with situations, but in her defense this was her first time, having dealt with something like this before. She had only been made an apprentice, and the warrior code, was still very fresh and new to her and yet, this cat didn't seem bad to her. He seemed kind actually. Certainly not like the stories, she had been told as a kit in the nursery; of how ruthless some other clans could be. She could only figure that all clans had stories of the others, and held their own in high regard. TreeClan and she was sure, LightingClan, was no different. But why had he decided to give her the vole? Wasn't it, his prey? Why would he give it up so easily to her? A small sigh rumbled from the back of her throat as these questions lingered in her mind, even as she lowered her glaze towards the vole he had picked at her side. It seemed so small, but yet it had been the start of all of this. If she hadn't been the one to catch this tom coming onto her clan's territory after the vole, would it had started a fight? Over something so small? Honestly it wasn't like her clan, wouldn't benefit from the fresh kill. But. " No, its your prey. I don't want to take it from you" She couldn't bring herself to take something that wasn't hers. He had caught the vole fair and square, she wasn't going to just take it from him now. Now that, that had been settled, there was an interesting question that he had asked before that had caught her attention. " My mentor?" She questioned, tilting her head to the side, " Oh, Pumafang isn't with me right now, I'm out here by yourself..." Her answer was a simple and innocent answer to the question. It was obvious that she was beginning to relax in the other's presence. It was evident in the gentle sway of her tail side to side, as a small smile started to creep to her maw, " I probably shouldn't have come out here by myself, but I wanted to explore..." It never occurred to her that she would get in trouble with venturing out into the territory by herself, she had just wanted to explore and had taken the opportunity to do so. Perhaps it was just an innocent thought of a naive mind, perhaps. Definitely. " Oh yeah! My name is Graypaw, by the way, what's your name?" This time it was her own little simple question. One piped with curiosity and interest in this handsome Lightingclan tom. A little too much curiosity. " Graypaw Talking" WC: 710 | OOC: Katara - <333

AND THE MEMORIES WE'VE MADE WILL NEVER BE LOST BUT THE WIND, YES THE WIND KEEPS HOWLING Brightpaw lightningclan apprentice / tom / 9 moons It's okay.
Brightpaw's ears pricked up in surprise, disarmed to hear the sudden change of tone from the TreeClan apprentice. She immediately corrected herself (Well, it's not okay, but...) and relief washed through him as she seemed to understand he hadn't really meant to catch prey on her territory. He knew his mentor would probably be embarrassed to see him right now, with his head dipped in submission to a cat from another Clan, but he would do anything to avoid conflict when it had only been a misunderstanding. He would fight for his Clan, he knew he would, but this had been a mistake and there was a difference. He was following the warrior code, surely?
As she said it was his prey, he looked up, even more surprised at this act of generosity. It would've been so easy for her to just take the vole back to camp, let her mentor praise her for the catch, along with anything else she caught today. His eyes brightened at her, golden eyes staring curiously into blue. "You are not what I expected from a TreeClan cat," he admitted. "In a good way!" he added quickly, hoping she wouldn't take it the wrong way. After hearing about TreeClan's war with NightClan, he imagined they were tough, battle-ready cats--but he supposed everyone had to be an apprentice at some point. She would probably still grow into a tough cat.
"Wait," he mewed, his tone low and shocked, "your mentor is Pumafang? The deputy?" Brightpaw's eyes went wide, regarding the she-cat with new respect now. She must've shown incredible promise to be assigned apprentice to the Clan deputy. Even he knew who Pumafang was! Impressed, he sat up straighter, wrapping his bushy tail around his paws and feeling more relaxed in her presence now that the misunderstanding had been settled. "I shouldn't have come all the way out here, myself," he meowed in agreement, "but I'm with you! We don't really get to explore our territory much by ourselves as apprentices! I know it's not totally safe being out alone, but today at least there's pretty much not a single rabbit in their right mind running around right now. They're hiding from the heat!" He chuckled sheepishly. "'Course, I'm doing the same thing."
My name is Graypaw, by the way, what's your name? Happy to put a name to the face of the pretty she-cat, he purred. "Nice to meet you, Graypaw! I'm Brightpaw," he introduced himself. "I'm glad I ran into you and not your mentor, or someone else. I think they would've been less understanding, or at least more inclined to claw my ears off... which is fair. But thank you! For not clawing my ears off, I mean." I put in the pictures, you put in the time You put all those memories so deep inside my mind TAGGED: @jen // NOTES: they are so cute shfshjs

The tom's words, about her not being exactly what he had expected from a TreeClan cat had the pretty apprentice tilting her head in question. What had he exactly been trying to say when he had said that? Had that been some sort of insult? No, no. It hadn't sounded like that to her, especially considering how fast he had said, he had meant his words in a "good way" but still, it had gotten her thinking though. She had never thought much about being a TreeClan cat. To her it came natural simply because she had been born into the clan and devoted all her time and effort into being the best apprentice she could be. Wasn't that many cats her age did? Devote their cause and being to their clan, all in hopes of becoming a warrior that their families could be proud of? Yet another question that seemed to have no true answer at the moment. " You know I could say the same thing about you, with you being a Lightclanner and all," She remarked simply. Yet unlike before there was no anger behind her words, in fact the smile creeping on her maw, suggested more to the fact that she was kidding and not serious at all. Especially considering she knew about as much of LightClan as she knew about the fraud between her clan and NightClan. Of course she had whispers in the clan but knew nothing of the basic information. " But I guess, even when we are from different clans, there are good cats from other clans, right"?" The tom's posture had relaxed upon this conversation between them, as Graypaw had noticed. With them as close as they were, the apprentice had been able to note the subtle differences in his once frazzled appearance. She had even noticed it in her own as well. She had been standing once, and now she had sat without having realized it. Her own tail wrapped neatly around her paws, even her ears were now perked and twitching soundly. Taking in the tom's voice. It was almost soothing to hear. A proud but far from boasting tone. Something that only made her smile widen just a bit. At the mention of her mentor's name, she blinked her green eyes at the other apprentice before nodding her head in response. Surprise sprouted to her young features instantly in response. It shouldn't have been a surprise that her mentor's name was known by another clan cat, but it did surprise her at the same time. Heat pulsed beneath the fur of her cheeks and she lowered her eyes to her paws. Not embarrassment for having Pumafang as her mentor, more to the idea that a cat like her, had even been considered to be his apprentice. " Y..yes, he's my mentor. He's pretty great, just something for me to thrive to be like..." There was that silence again, and Graypaw was quick to thank StarClan when he started to talk about something else. Drawing their conversation away from the uncomfortable weight of being able to live up to her deputy's greatness. So she hadn't been the only one to have wondered off by herself to explore, huh? She supposed it was just an apprentice's natural to do so. " Two apprentices is better than one, after all," She mewed with a small chuckle in response, beaming at him happily, " Besides, I think exploring is the best way to find the best prey for our clans, so I don't think its wrong for wanting to get out by yourself" Wow, it was funny to have such a common understanding with another cat, even when he was from another clan. At the introduction of finally getting his name, Brightpaw, which suited him, it was Graypaw's turn to purr softly, dipping her own head in greeting. " It's nice to meet you as well, Brightpaw," She mewed softly with a twitch of her tail and a friendly glint in her eye, " And I have to agree, I am glad it was just me too, I can only imagine what my mentor would have done. I don't want to think about it though" That was the truth after all. The idea of Pumafang, running into him instead trespassing...well it had the young apprentice shaking her head with a small sigh in response. What would the deputy would have done to him, if he had? It was possibly best that question, never be answered out loud. " Graypaw Talking" WC: 763| OOC: Katara - they are freaking cute, I agree! OMG lol

AND THE MEMORIES WE'VE MADE WILL NEVER BE LOST BUT THE WIND, YES THE WIND KEEPS HOWLING Brightpaw lightningclan apprentice / tom / 9 moons He could detect the teasing in her tone, that she was just throwing his words back at him in a playful manner, but he was curious nonetheless. "Is there anything TreeClan says about LightningClan?" he wanted to know. "I don't think anything bad about TreeClan. Scary nursery stories were reserved more for NightClan, if any Clan at all," he purred. "I've just known your Clan has had high tensions with NightClan since I was kitted, practically, so I have to imagine all your Clan is really... tough and battle-ready. I'm sure you're on your way there, but to me at least, you seem... far more approachable."
Though, when he expressed how impressed he was that Pumafang was her mentor, she seemed more put-off than he would have expected her to be. Pride was what he had expected... was it possible she was intimidated by him? Well, it would be hard not to be intimidated having the Clan deputy as your mentor. Brightpaw couldn't begin to imagine how he'd feel if Owlmind was his mentor. He wouldn't feel nearly worthy enough. Maybe that was why she seemed to eager to turn the conversation elsewhere, and he was only too happy to allow it. Mentor could certainly be a tricky subject sometimes; his own mentor was one of the newer warriors of the Clan, and he still felt as intimidated by her as if she were the leader of LightningClan herself.
"I agree!" he mewed eagerly. "Just following everywhere our mentors go, or the other apprentices... it's just no fun. And it's no real way to learn our own territory and become comfortable with it." He knew he was speaking as someone who didn't fully understand the intricacies of Clan life, but he didn't care. His own yearning for adventure, for creating the beginnings of stories that would be a joy to tell to others, was too overpowering. And this was the first time he'd met another cat that had related to him like this.
Though he'd acknowledged only a few moments ago that mentors could be a tricky subject, when she spoke about Pumafang again, he couldn't help himself. "My mentor wouldn't approve of this either," he confessed. "I'm almost certain a fight would've broken out if I'd been on patrol catching that vole instead of it just being me and you." He frowned. "You must feel like you're under a lot of pressure as Pumafang's apprentice," he sympathized. "I'm sure it's not easy." Perhaps she had teased him a little too well? It may not have been the case and she was just looking too much into this, but Brightpaw did seem suddenly interested in what her clan was saying about his. Was this just the natural of another clan cat? Or would she have been curious about the same thing? Even she had to admit that she was. Her curiosity was like a buzzing whisper in the back of her mind, wanting her to ask her own questions of the handsome and clearly., though slightly older apprentice. At least, she mused to herself, he doesn't hold any type of bad feelings towards my clan. It was a naive thing to think, especially considering she had just met him, but to her, Brightpaw didn't seem like that type of cat. There...was something warm about him, that drew her in like a moth to the sun and it could only make her smile. " well," She started up after a moment, only to hesitate briefly before speaking up again, " To be honest...I haven't heard anyone mention Lightingclan at all," She confessed with more heat coming to the fur of her cheeks. " I mean, I think my clan is more concerned with NightClan at the moment...I guess...I'm sorry I'm not much help..." In reality, she hadn't heard much about the other clans and while her information about NightClan was limited, like Brightpaw, she knew of the tensions. But as she had stated before, her information was limited. At least for right now. Now when he began to speak about her clan being tough and battle ready. Well she had to agree with him on that. At least Pumafang, seemed to hold those two traits. Any one could tell that just by staring at the large, tall and black deputy. Intimidating and down right scary at times. She shivered at the very idea of her mentor, but he moved her once more from her thoughts. Mentioning that she seemed approachable, compared to other members of her clan, and she could only shake her head at his words in response. " There are cats like that in my clan but I can assure you, not all of them are like that..," Yet even with her defense, it was hard to really make it at the same time, especially considering her small circle of friends was fairly limited in the clan. Thankfully once again the conversation moved away from her clan and back to more previous one. Though it had started out easy going, the next words had brought up a clear reality to the pretty gray apprentice. It was true what Brigthpaw, had said. Neither of their mentors would approve of them talking to each other, let alone Graypaw's actions to letting the other apprentice off the hook. She let out a small sigh, before her eyes once again fell to to the ground. Pumafang, would have had her pelt if he had seen what she had done. " It really isn't easy to be his apprentice...but its an honor to be it, even when I feel...undeserving of it," She spoke softly, her voice almost whisper like. " And you're right, neither of our mentors would have been happy with what went on here but..." She looked back up at Brightpaw then, her face suddenly serious, " But I don't feel bad for doing what I did. I confronted you for trespassing but I refuse to take prey that's yours. You caught it, and you were nice even when you came on the territory, I see no reason to be angry about it. I know its against the warrior code, but why fight someone, I have no reason to fight? Besides," She mewed, her smile slowly beginning to make its way back to her maw, lighting her green eyes up once more with joy. " I like talking to you, Brightpaw, you're a really nice tom. Just because we are in different clans...does that mean, we can't be friends?" Even with a question that seemed so innocent, there was something almost dangerous about it as well and yet it was an alluring question that Graypaw was quite curious of wanting an answer to. AND THE MEMORIES WE'VE MADE WILL NEVER BE LOST BUT THE WIND, YES THE WIND KEEPS HOWLING Brightpaw lightningclan apprentice / tom / 9 moons Brightpaw could see she was considering his question carefully as if he were deeply serious, and he was a little amused by this. I'm sorry I'm not much help... she trailed off as she said she didn't know much about his Clan. He shrugged his shoulders, offering her a grin. "That's okay!" he mewed. "I was only curious. It's probably a good thing, that means our Clans don't have much reason to go to war with each other or anything."
Graypaw seemed to be a newer apprentice, if Brightpaw had to guess. He was only nine moons old, so he was relatively new as well, but he had the feeling she was a bit younger than him. She seemed equally intimidated by her Clan, as if she hadn't quite found her place yet, the same way he felt when he was first apprenticed. Rising to the expectations of your Clan was difficult, but it was expected if they ever wanted to be warriors - and he did. And she figured she did too.
"You shouldn't feel undeserving," he encouraged her. "You must have just become an apprentice. You have plenty of time to prove yourself, and plenty of time to grow stronger too. Don't sell yourself short - you'd have driven me off no problem earlier, if you hadn't been so nice to me."
She went on, explaining she didn't feel bad for what she did, and he listened, finding himself in complete agreement with her once again. Why couldn't all confrontations be handled this way? "I don't think you even broke the warrior code," he pointed out. "You did challenge me, after all. That's all the warrior code says." At least, he thought so. It was implied trespassing cats (was it even considered trespassing when he'd only been over the border for a moment?) should be driven off, but a fight was both unnecessary and uncalled for, in his opinion. "I think you did the honorable thing." And sometimes the honorable thing wasn't written out in the warrior code, but it shouldn't have to be if it was the right thing to do.
He felt himself warm from ears to tail-tip as she said she liked talking to him, that he was nice, that maybe they could even be friends. "I like talking to you too," he beamed. He never imagined he would have such a friendly encounter with another Clan cat outside of a Gathering (and he hadn't even been to one yet), but he wouldn't have wanted his afternoon to go any other way. "I don't see why we can't be friends," he purred. "The warrior code says we can have friends in other Clans, but we must remain loyal to our own Clan. I'm planning on staying loyal to LightningClan, what about you?" His eyes danced with humor. Though, the warrior code also said that if he were to meet Graypaw in battle one day, he'd be expected to fight her. He couldn't imagine trying to hurt her, and didn't want to imagine it, so he shoved it out of his head. He'd cross that bridge if they ever came to it. "Friends, then?" He glanced at the vole at his paws, recalling he still had to feed the elders, but he was reluctant to leave the pretty bengal apprentice. At each passing moment, Graypaw could feel herself becoming more and more attached to this handsome tom from LightningClan. Perhaps it was far too soon for such a young molly to associate such fast feelings into a new encounter with a fairly new acquaintance but she was the type to think more with her heart than her head. While far from simple minded, she was naive in both age and in experienced and it certainly showed. Yet this warm and fuzzy feeling coursing through her entire being, and as the saying went; it was best to always go with your gut feeling. The same could easily be applied with cats. It certainly was a naive way of thinking of things, but Graypaw had never experienced something like this before. It was new, exciting and it was something she wanted to understand and get to know all at the same time. She smiled and nodded softly at the tom, her ears twitching softly at more words he spoke about their clans hopefully not needing to go to war with each other. ' Well that's a relief' , She thought to herself softly, ' I don't know what I would have done if there was something like that happening between our clans' That was the truth in all of itself, but even with her inexperience, she was very much aware of the Warrior Code. What would happen if a war did happen? Would she have to...A quick shift of her head to the left cleared that thought from her mind almost immediately. No. She didn't want to think about such a thing, so early on in this. It would ruin any sort of good feeling she was having at the moment." It is a good thing, and hopefully it will stay that way", She mewed with a soft chuckle," I think a war is the last thing either of our clan needs right now...," She trailed off, seemingly going into her thoughts, but it was brief, especially when Brightpaw was able to pull her out so easily. He spoke about how she shouldn't feel undeserving of her apprenticeship to Pumafang and that being a young apprentice was something everyone experienced and that she would get stronger over time. " Thank you for saying such kind words. Even if I am still young, I want to become the best apprentice that I can be."," It was her turn to beam at him, her eyes lightening up even more with happiness," It means a lot to me, and you really think I did the honorable thing?" That was the first time she had been praised for something and the warmth spread even more through her very being." You really are a nice tom, Brightpaw" She repeated her words from before, her tone warm and gentle. The humor in his words about him staying loyal to his clan, only had the smile widening against her maw and another chuckle falling from her once again in response. " I plan to stay loyal to my clan too, I can't imagine myself anywhere else but in TreeClan but..," She reached out a gray paw, and placed it gently on top of one of Brightpaw's, her eyes lifting up to meet his. " I would be honored to have you as my friend. So friends, definitely!" She agreed full-heartily with a twitch of her tail and the same twinkle in her eyes.
