APPEARANCE A dark ginger tabby tom with pale green eyes. As a kit, Daringkit is born as nothing more than a tiny ginger furball, so it was thought he would take after his mother quite a bit. However, as he gets older, he will of course lose the fluffiness, but also some of his resemblance to Rosefire. His orange coat will take on a darker tone, with still darker stripes criss-crossing his legs and sides. His fur will be quite a bit thicker than his mother's, though about the same length, and he'll probably have issues with shedding a lot. His eyes will be a strange color between light yellow and the palest mint, but decidedly a pale green in most lighting. He will grow to be quite stocky and powerful, but on the way there he will have huge paws that cause a streak of klutziness. He has a thick, broad muzzle, and at the point a pale pink nose with half a dozen tiny black freckles. As a kit, the young tom will enjoy play-fighting more than anything else, a bit too interested in practicing the skill of battle than he should be at his age. When his siblings tire of fighting, he'll complain and try to mock them to tempt them into a tussle, and taking no mind when he learns he may have hurt their feelings. Though Daringkit is not entirely uncaring of how he treats others, he is inherently selfish and always wants things to go 'his way'. It will take many times for him to learn hard lessons like treating others with respect even when he doesn't get his way. When he becomes an apprentice eventually, he'll have a keen interest in learning how to fight but not much in anything else. To him, learning skills like hunting and tracking and the warrior code are lessons on a lower tier than fighting could ever be. Though he'll show incredible strength in battle-training, he does have a predictable move-set and lacks the creativity needed to take on smarter cats than him. He will lack sorely in other areas, especially hunting. With his huge paws, he scares off prey easily and will be frankly hopeless at stalking, and only fare a little better with chasing rabbits. Though he seems to have a lot of flaws, Daringkit will be one of the most loyal and reliable cats you'll ever meet. Despite having little patience for learning the warrior code, he has an intrinsic sense of what's right and what's wrong and it's, surprisingly, usually accurate. With a strong sense of loyalty to his Clan, he's not the type of cat to ignore orders and will always do what he's told. He's not much for having his own thoughts, and is quite content being a follower. Eventually, I'd like for Daringkit to have some character development as far as becoming a better cat. He will have a bit of a toxic masculinity streak and will need some hard lessons, but he's simply a slow learner, not a non-learner. INSPIRATION: As far as character development, Sokka (Avatar: The Last Airbender) HISTORY
BIRTH Daringkit is born in a litter of three to Rosefire, senior warrior of LightningClan and sister of the leader and deputy. The identity of the father remains unknown to both the Clan and the kits, something Rosefire preferred to keep to herself. She gave birth in early Newleaf, bearing three kits - two toms and a she-kit. Daringkit himself was a very active kit only a few sunrises after he was born, quick to start crawling blindly around inside his mother's nest and even - at one point - poking his tiny head outside of the nursery before he was gently returned to Rosefire's side. It was perhaps because of this that he was named Daringkit. However, he was the last kit to open his eyes. KITHOOD As a young kit, Daringkit will resemble his mother quite a bit with the same ginger tabby markings and even more so when his eyes change from blue to pale green. It's not long before he starts playing with his siblings, though at first it's more like scrambling around on top of them. As they age, Daringkit takes play-fighting very seriously, and it's his main form of play, as he's easily bored with simple games like batting at feathers or moss balls. He'll goad his siblings into play-fighting with him to the point where it becomes bothersome, and somehow that personality shapes him as he grows older. |
