Name: Cloudtail
Age: 39
Gender: tom
Clan: Stoneclan
Rank: Warrior
Picture:
Description: Cloudtail is a broad-shouldered tom with medium length, snow-white fur. His eyes are an emerald green and seem to glow as a pop of colour in his otherwise monochrome features. Cloudtail earned his name from his ultra-fluffy white tail which, when he is running, looks like a wisp of a cloud trailing behind him. For a cat with bright white fur, though, Cloudtail is not very concerned with the cleanliness of his pelt. His paws usually have a grayish tint to them from moons of running in the dirt, and it is not uncommon for him to have bits and pieces caught in his pelt as well. During New-Leaf, when the grass is lush and full of juice, his paws turn a green colour that is not unlike his eyes.
Description Summary: Snow white tom with emerald eyes
Personality:
Cloudtail is an arrogant, proud, and short-tempered cat. He believes that he is the best of the best, that he knows better than any other cat (yes, including the deputy, leader, and medicine cats) and that he alone is capable of anything. Is he a control freak? Yes, and he micromanages anything he is put in charge of. Needless to say, cats dislike being put into a patrol with him because he is a notorious ‘back seat driver’, always giving ‘tips’ and ‘hints’ for hunting or tracking. He says he is being helpful, but everyone knows that he is just trying to show that he knows better.
Any achievement Cloudtail ever gets he blows it way out of proportion. Any bit of praise, any marginally difficult piece of prey he catches, he lords over the cats around him. But not just that—he also brags about his own clan to other clans. He is insanely proud to be a Stoneclan cat and takes any slight against his clan as an attack on his own honor. No cat talks bad about his clan!
In addition, Cloudtail is rather short tempered. He should count to ten whenever he feels stressed out, but he usually makes it to a solid three or maybe four. Small inconveniences send him into a rant, and he’s a sore loser.
Aside from his shortcomings, Cloudtail is a loyal cat to his clan. He does his share of work, often more when it is needed, and he cares very deeply for the kits and the elders of his clan. He expects a lot of his clanmates, but only because he expects a lot from himself. In the end, Cloudtail is a warrior that can be counted on. His “people skills” are just almost non-existent, is all.
History:
Cloudkit and his siblings were born to Silentstrike and Foxwhisker. Silentstrike was a tom not known for his monogamous relationships. In fact, Cloudkit had already known about his kin born to Silentstrike and Sandcloud and he knew that the two litters were not destined to be friends. His kithood was filled with venomous, offhanded comments about his step-siblings and their mother and, being young and admiring his father, Cloudkit joined right in. Afterall, Cloudkit was better than any of Sandcloud’s kits anyways.
Imagine his dismay when he and his denmates were paired up with Cobrashadow, Adderstone, and Viperstrike. Cloudpaw was a hardworking apprentice, but he kept a cold distance between him and his mentor. Aside from that fact that Adderstone was his stepsibling, Cloudpaw was dismayed that he hadn’t been apprenticed to the leader or at least the deputy. How in Starclan was he going to learn to be the best warrior in Stoneclan if he wasn’t going to be trained by the best warrior? Well. He would just have to work harder, that was all.
It was that attitude that had Cloudpaw and Adderstone training elsewhere when Redpaw and Birdpaw were attacked by the badger, ending Redpaw’s life. His only sister, gone just like that. At least Birdpaw had survived, although Silentstrike blamed Viperstrike and Cobrashadow for Redpaw’s death. Cloudpaw was too grief stricken and filled with venom for his half-siblings that he sided with his father for moons. Secretly, Cloudpaw also blames himself—he should have been there. He could have gone on patrol, and maybe more teeth and more claws would have sent the badger away before it got to Redpaw. But he would never tell that to any cat, and he swallowed that feeling until it rested deep down in his heart where it hardened into a cold, black stone.
Cloudtail and Birdtalon were made apprentices without their sister. It was a bittersweet ceremony, but Cloudtail was grateful that no one brought up Redpaw aside to send a prayer to Starclan. As a warrior, Cloudtail is brisk and bossy, but this comes from a place of love—from within that cold, black stone sitting in the bottom of his heart. Cloudtail would do anything to keep that stone from growing, even if it meant making himself an unappealing mentor choice, or an unappealing mate. He couldn’t lose what he didn’t have. Cloudtail’s solitary goal, as a young warrior, was to be strong and fierce. But as time went on, he began to see his father for the kind of cat he really was. Silentstrike became less of an untouchable idol and more of a…well, a jerk. Cloudtail could not believe he had never seen it before. Was that how cats saw him, Cloudtail? As a jerk?
At 39 moons old, Cloudtail is finally trying to be a palatable personality. His relationship with Cobrashadow, Adderstone, and Viperstrike wasn’t very good still, but Cloudtail no longer blamed them for Redpaw’s death. It was an accident. Silentstrike was wrong. But how could Cloudtail even begin to mend that border between them? Maybe it was unmendable. But, by Starclan’s claws, he was going to try. Even if it meant being nice for a change.
It is time for a new chapter to begin for Cloudtail.
