Description: Given the prefix of 'apple' for her fair features and slightly pink-reddish shading along her back, this she-cat is certainly unusual in comparison with the other, slightly more predictable coat colors of her Clanmates. Having gotten the same lovely ticking over a solid base as her siblings and half-brother, Appleshade certainly looks part of the family, with highlights just under the eyes and a 'lionlike' appearance. Appleshade also has a 'mane', a splendid ruff of sorrel-shaded fur that's longer along her throat and chest then it is anywhere else on her body. Her tail is obviously her pride and joy, and with very good reason.
A lovely pastel plume of pink-sorrel over silvery white fluff, it's no wonder she goes to such lengths to keep it clean. There are tufts of fur between all her toes, her build is slim, but the thick coat she sports makes her appear slightly larger then she actually is. Any doubts about her size are cleared up immediately when you place her next to one of her family members, however, as, with the exception of Rowanpaw and Silverpaw, Appleshade is the most petite of the entire 'Pride'.
Highly adept at tree climbing, it is the one talent in Appleshade's repertoire of 'party tricks' that can be of actual benefit should Lionstar be desperate enough to give her an apprentice, and is something that she excels in. Light and flexible and with a learning style that makes her very easy to teach (when she wants to be taught, that is), Appleshade, once this 'keep calm and party on' attitude finally goes away, may just turn out to be a reputable, wholly decent warrior of TreeClan.
Description Summary: A beautiful medium-sized silver-sorrel she-cat with yellow eyes and semi-long fur.
Personality:
Appleshade is a far cry from the usual personality mold of her proud, noble family members, both full and half. The love of Clan that is more or less inherited at this point was something she did get, however, Appleshade, being young, beautiful and all too aware of it, prefers to put the needs of the Clan on the back-burner in favor of living up her early moons however she sees fit. Finding things hard to take seriously, Appleshade is still immature of mindset when it comes to being a warrior, not at all interested in flaunting any sort of battle prowess or hunting affinity, she's more likely to flaunt what her momma gave her rather than anything actually productive.
She is charming in her own way, however, and is excellent company, both a sympathetic audience, a witty speaker and with a knack for sociability. Appleshade is the cat you invite to all the parties, seeming to liven up the mood of just about anything, and she fully enjoys her ability to get immersed in the festivities, seeming to drink up the attention and the fun interactions between herself and others. Rather vain at the moment, Appleshade is fully enjoying her youth and all the perks that comes with being of the fairer kinds, raking her own looks high in comparison to her fellow female Clanmates, and while she won't outright say it, it can be implied in her confidence levels and behaviors around toms that she has no shortage of self-esteem, that's for sure.
Appleshade is far from airheaded, however, and was both a decent student and possibly a decent mentor (Appleshade does not urge others to live by her lifestyle, she has no issues with the way other cats choose to live their lives), given she could actually remember to show up on time. Appleshade enjoys sleeping in late, something that has been a persistent part of her character since kithood.
Dramatic of speech, she is prone to exaggeration and self-flattery, can be materialistic but an exceptionally loyal friend with an appreciation for beauty in all its forms. When it comes to toms, however, Appleshade is the cat you do NOT want anywhere near your brother/son/mate/apprentice/acquaintance, not if you have any desire to prevent the immediate change in this pretty, witty little feline.
There is perhaps one thing she takes seriously, and that's flirting with other toms - not only to boost their egos, but to boost hers, and sometimes, she genuinely desires to compliment them. Fond of the opposite sex even more than the average she-cat, it's not at all unusual for Appleshade to be entertaining a small crowd of toms during Gatherings, having a seductive, slightly addictive personality that's practically unhealthy for her entourage, but is as difficult to quit as it is enthralling.
Appleshade also considers herself somewhat of a matchmaker, once she's done having her fill of flirtations and shameless male company, this pale-shaded she-cat tends to get a great deal of enjoyment out of setting her friends up on 'blind dates' throughout TreeClan territory.
Independent, vain, carefree and extremely playful, the half-sister of Lionstar and full sister of Quietstorm and Sprucefur tends to bring the party with her wherever she goes - which cats can handle it and which cats can't, well... We'll just have to see, won't we?
In Appleshade's most humblest of opinions, A Little Party Never Killed Nobody.
History: Appleshade is the last in a litter alongside two toms, with Sprucefur being the oldest and Quietstorm holding a comfortable middle position. Though Sprucefur tends to be rather lenient towards her behavior, she has been known to make him worry on occasion. The trio are the result of a fling between the former deputy of TreeClan, Badgerstripe, and a beautiful TreeClan she-cat-turned-loner by the name of Camellia. After a brief romance with the TreeClan deputy (who had a mate and 17-moon old son at this point), Camellia returned to TreeClan to give birth to her litter of three - Sprucekit, Quietkit and Applekit.
Rather than stick around, however, shortly after she gave birth to the trio and found out about Badgerstripe's unfortunate demise, Camellia left her three kits to the care of TreeClan's queens. It was quite a scandal - apparently Camellia had seduced the deputy after Badgerstripe and Sandfur had fought, and to further widen the rift starting to form between the two mates, Camellia sought to rejoin the Clan, her belly heavy with the deputy's unwanted litter. When the object of her desire met his untimely demise during a battle against NightClan, Camellia abandoned her kits to go back to the old loner lifestyle she'd previously been enjoying.
Not hide nor hair has been seen of the beautiful former TreeClanner ever since.
Growing up without both parents was difficult, especially considering the rumor mill was in full swing from the moment they were first able to process information. Aware that there would always be some sort of 'shadow' looming over her and her siblings, Applekit, who eventually became Applepaw and was given to Beetlefoot, made the most of a bad situation. Preferring to be upbeat about a situation she was too young to understand (not that anyone had taken the time to explain it to her), Applepaw quickly proved to be a handful for her middle-aged mentor, running circles around him, flirting with the other apprentices, climbing trees with a sense of carelessness that probably turned his whiskers prematurely gray. However, for all her recklessness and youthful exuberance, Applepaw always gave off the aura of being able to take care of herself.
Having grown up without a father's watchful eye or a mother's careful coaxing, Applepaw just had to make due without, substituting her mentor's attention for a father's and doing everything she could to put the focus on herself.
With her apprenticeship being relatively uneventful (save for the time in which she almost plummeted to her death from the Great Maple), Applepaw finally became Appleshade when she actually buckled down on her lessons and brought her skills up from mediocre to average. Becoming Appleshade at the age of 15 moons (a little late due to...well, her lateness, unwillingness to focus and a myriad of other things), the pretty little half-sister of Lionstar was finally free of her obligations as an apprentice.
She has not yet had her own apprentice, and given how irresponsible and careless she can be, Lionstar would have to be desperate to actually give her one. Appleshade learned the truth about her parents and Badgerstripe's proper family sometime late into her apprenticeship, which may have factored into what took her so long to get her act together.
