Description:
Eagletalon and his sister couldn't be more opposite - not only in personality, but in physical appearance as well. In contrast to his sister's overly skinny appearance, Eagletalon is a well-muscled warrior who looks almost bulky in comparison, his pelt a warm sandy hue, even in color save for the splash of white on his chin.
Many a battle has scarred this tom in various places, and his ears are all sporting a few various knicks here and there, though nothing deep enough to make him look bedraggled. Eagletalon's shoulders also sport a great deal of scarring, a few so deep that the fur never healed over them properly, Eagletalon presenting an overly tough appearance because of this, despite being one of the most approachable toms in StoneClan. The reason for the heavy scarring on his shoulders is due to the way most enemies choose to try and defeat him; because of his size and his strength, many warriors choose to pounce from behind and to get a good grip, they dig their front claws into his shoulder blades and try to take a bite out of his neck from that angle, but it usually ends very badly for them.
Eagletalon may not be the fastest tom in StoneClan, but his reflexes are solid and his strength is reaching legendary proportions, a quick crushing roll is usually enough to dislodge his opponents.
His appearance isn't particularly special besides his pelt-color and the scars, but it's worth noting that his eyes are yellowish-gold, his nose is a dark pink, and the fur along the top of his head and the bridge of his nose are just a tad darker than everywhere else.
When Eagletalon walks, he holds his head up high, shoulders back, and strides around with purpose, he seems to possess the ability to draw attention to him, not just through body language but through an aura he projects - not the least bit introverted, unlike his sister. Sometimes she may wish to blend in with the crowd or vanish into the shadows, but Eagletalon is the kind of tom who steps out into the sunlight, regardless of who's looking at him.
Description Summary: A battle-scarred tom with sand-colored pelt and amber eyes.
Personality: – Courage – Reckless Bravery – Boundless Strength
There isn't a cat alive who could ever doubt Eagletalon's depth of character. He's courageous to the point of foolishness, recklessly brave to the point of self-endangerment, and with boundless strength and support for his Clan and family. Incredibly likable, Eagletalon manages to not step on too many toes while still being 100% himself. Finding it difficult to hide his emotions, Eagletalon has a brutally honest nature that many can applaud and dislike him for, Eagletalon's honesty towards the faults and perfections of his Clanmates are spoken out of a desire to improve, not to put down. He has trouble keeping everything inside, and is usually the first to open his mouth when he disagrees with something or someone's beliefs.
When verbally working it out doesn't cut it, Eagletalon is quick to rely on his claws and brute strength, intending to give them correct answer with a slash here and a back-kick there. He's not overly violent, but he is obviously very confident in his own abilities, having faith in the strength he's worked hard for and been blessed with. Eagletalon's views are fairly simple and typical of any StoneClan warrior; believes strongly in StarClan, adheres to the warrior code (though he does allow for some breathing room, and sometimes he forgets a code or two), supports his Clan with infallible loyalty and devotion.
Generally a very nice guy, lives and breathes the life of a warrior, and his own personal goal is not to retire to the Elders' Den, but to die a legend, to die protecting his Clan and his family from any and all threats. That being said, his biggest fear is the death and destruction of StoneClan, and the loss of his sister, Fallingstar to the cruel claws of fate. Determined to protect her and everyone else, Eagletalon's the kind of cat who would throw himself to the dogs if he thought it would buy his Clan more time. Particularly suited to battle rather than hunting, Eagletalon tends to 'attack' everything that he does; he throws himself into things completely, possessing a single-minded intensity that's hard to match, but can give him slight tunnel vision when it comes to the happenings of the rest of the Clan.
Eagletalon shows this particular brand of profound dedication when it comes to his apprentices, taking immense pride in the idea of prepping the next generation to take up the duties of a warrior – some of which may someday grow up to be the next deputy or Clan leader, and he enjoys doing his part to ensure a brighter future for StoneClan. Friendly, courageous, and with a sense of humor, he's very easy to get along with, though a tad hard-headed and not particularly a great thinker (He's not an idiot, he's just not into deep philosophical moments or contemplating the meaning of life and StarClan). Everything is 'action action action' if he had the choice, and this tom's got energy, enthusiasm and honor-bound strength in spades upon spades upon spades.
There will never be something that's too tough for this guy, and even if there is, he'll just keep trying until he dies.
History:
Eagletalon was born the first of two cats to Jayflight and Tallstripe, and was named Eaglekit for his sandy pelt alongside his sister, Fallingkit. They were born during a prosperous time in greenleaf, and flourished unlike Bluekit, a sibling they had never met from Jayflight's first litter, Bluekit having starved during leafbare many moons ago. Eaglekit was immediately recognized as being different from his sister - though they were very close, Eaglekit was bold and fearless, plunging into things rather than sniffing around cautiously to see what it was first. It's honestly a wonder how he survived his kithood virtually unscathed.
When six moons finally rolled around, Eaglekit was beside himself with excitement, and was given the methodal senior warrior, Reedfang as his mentor. Eaglepaw was almost too much for the older warrior to handle, and after a few rough moons, they eventually adjusted to one another's pace -- Reedfang preferring to take things cautiously and practically, while Eaglepaw went charging on ahead like a bat out of hell. It was through Reedfang that Eaglepaw learned patience, humility and most of all, a few shreds of caution. He stopped plodding on recklessly and shoving his nose into things that were potentially deadly, but the one thing Reedfang had been unable to squash out of him was his fearlessness.
Fearless to the point where Reedfang thought there was something seriously wrong with his young charge, Eaglepaw continued to amaze all with his fast reflexes, a warrior's intinuity and a bravery that surpassed common sense. They were in awe of his courage, but also weary of the likelihood that he was someday going to die fighting - and that's how Eaglepaw always pictured his eventual end. Reedfang would've preffered to have a more 'low key' apprentice, but the fates don't always give you what you want, and neither do Clan leaders.
Much to Eagletalon's chagrin, his sister became Fallingleaf before he could become Eagletalon, as he had participated in a raid against an enemy Clan, and had injured his shoulder during the fight. While it was certainly not enough to keep him down and out, the Medicine Cat had insisted that he take it easy for a moon - that was arguably the toughest moon of his life - and during that time, Eaglepaw had practically willed his shoulder to heal, he was so determined to not delay his warrior ceremony any further.
At last, shoulder healed, pride back up to it's usual levels, and eyes gleaming with his classic reckless loyalty, Eaglepaw became Eagletalon, and sat vigil alone on a cold night in leafbare, sitting like a magnificent dark-golden statue - meant to protect them from anything and everything.
When Eagletalon was 15 moons, he acquired his first apprentice, a young tom named Stonepaw, the tom's brother having gone to his sister, Fallingleaf.
That was perhaps one of the proudest days in Eagletalon's life. Having his own apprentice was an immense joy to a tom who had so much to share and so much support to give, he empowered the young Stonepaw and encouraged him to give it his all for the sake of his Clan. They were somewhat similar, Stonepaw and Eagletalon, and as such were a decent match when it came to student and teacher. Shortly after Stonepaw became Stoneclaw, the current StoneClan leader, Foxstar, passed on, and Bouldertooth, Fallingleaf's former mentor became Bouldstar.
And then it was time to appoint a new deputy. Much to the surprise of Eagletalon, he was one of the candidates to become StoneClan's next deputy - a position he hadn't really considered before, content as he was with the ways of an ordinary warrior - and he would've accepted it had he thought he was a good fit for the job. Much to his delight, however, Fallingleaf was chosen as the Clan deputy, and none were prouder of her than her own 'big brother', Eagletalon cheering for her and giving his sister his usual endless supply of support.
Though Stoneclaw seemed put out that his own mentor had not been chosen, Eagletalon hadn't been able to find it in his heart to feel any sort of jealousy, in fact he was overjoyed that it was his meek, shy sister rather than himself. No matter what others thought of her, Fallingleaf would always be the wisest, kindest cat he knew, and when that day came when she became Fallingstar, Eagletalon knew he would gladly go to the ends of the earth and back should his sister ask it of him.
It was with great pride that Eagletalon had escorted her to the Moon Tree to meet with StarClan and acquire her nine lives. Though he hadn't done much more than stand guard while Fallingstar and the Medicine Cat went to the tree, Eagletalon hadn't forgotten to say a little prayer for his sister's sake, wanting nothing more than for her and the Clan to stay safe and happy. Though times would be tough, he knew that, the first thing Eagletalon told Fallingstar when he saw her again after she had received her lives, his sister now a completely different cat than the she-cat he'd always known and loved, was this;
"If you ever get tired or need to talk, or get upset about anything - I'm here for you. I probably can't solve all your problems for ya, but I can at least give you a shoulder to lean on, and an ear to listen. So don't worry, Fallingstar. No matter what happens, I've got your back."
Selfless to the end, Eagletalon is proud to serve Fallingstar and his Clan, and will support his sister's leadership until the trumpets sound and he's carried off to silverpelt, hopefully with a dozen legends to his name and a triumphant smile upon his face.
