Name: Burr from Tall Grass
Age: 24 Moons
Gender: tom
Clan: Tribe of Forgotten Waters
Rank: Prey-Hunter
Picture:
Description:
Burr is a short haired silver tabby tom with green eyes. The base color of his pelt is a light gray, with darker gray highlights and dark stripes throughout that look nearly brown in direct sunlight. He gets his name from the little hook at the end of his tail-- a birth defect that gives the tip of his tail a little nub. While grooming him for the first time his mother remarked how it felt like he had a burr, hence his name.
Burr is lean and fast. His coat is silky smooth and quite short. He has large ears, the right one colored mostly dark while the left is mostly light.
Description Summary: A short haired silver tabby tom with green eyes
Personality:
Burr from Tall Grass, or simply Burr, is a generally happy tom. He has a good sense of humor and loves to make others laugh. And, in a Tribe full of very serious cats, laughter is a precious commodity so along with being a Prey-Hunter, he feels that bringing joy and laughter to the tribe is just another one of his very important duties to the tribe. There hardly a situation serious enough that Burr can’t find the light in it, though many have described him as ‘tone deaf’ with some situations. This means that he often spends his time comforting the kits and to-bes during difficult times. You can find Burr playing badger rides or moss ball on any given day. If not, he is usually up to mischief with his brother Buzz of Swarming Locusts.
Buzz is often the one that brings Burr into trouble. Burr is the sensible, sensitive one. The voice of reason in their relationship. He is very loyal to his little brother, but feels that keeping Buzz out of serious trouble is his main responsibility, and is usually the one who apologizes to any cats they’ve inconvenienced or upset. Burr is considered to be the responsible one, always trailing behind and picking up after whatever silly prank Buzz has concocted.
Because of this, Burr has a wee bit of an anxiety issue. He deals with it through humor but often finds he has difficulty sleeping at night, or loses his appetite, or has moments of just generally feeling like something terrible is about to happen. He relies on his brother for support during these times, but ultimately feels like it makes him a bad prey-hunter and it brings him great shame.
History:
Burr from Tall Grass and his brother, Buzz of Swarming Locusts, were born to two cave-guards. Their mother, Ripples of Little Pond, and father, Leap of Hunting Fox, were both fairly young when Burr and Buzz were born and the two toms were their first litter. As kits, Burr and Buzz were rambunctious and were always getting in to mischief, causing their poor mother Pond quite the headache. Their father Fox, on the other hand, thought his sons' antics were quite hilarious and was caught on numerous occasions giving the boys ‘ideas’ for their next prank. Pond did not approve.
One night, Burr and Buzz decided to try to sneak out of the cave. They were determined to catch some prey and leave it in Skyteller's den as the ‘ultimate prank’. Burr had thought that perhaps sneaking out of the cave and then into Skyteller’s den was going too far, but eventually Buzz convinced him to go along. They were fairly successful and made it a fair ways down the path before getting caught by a pair of cave-guards, who brought them back to the cave by their scruffs. They were threatened that if they tried something like that again, the would not become to-bes, which ensured that Burr and Buzz were on their best behaviours.
Becoming to-bes was exciting, but very challenging. It was the first time that Burr and Buzz were separated from each other, and while Buzz seemed to come out of his shell, Burr began to experience his first bouts of anxiety. Losing Buzz was the worst thing he could imagine and, when they were not together, it was the only thing he could imagine. Burr became withdrawn and quiet and spent all his time either working or sleeping. Socializing was too difficult for him to handle. His mentor was patient and understanding and helped him work through his anxieties. His quiet reflectiveness made him an excellent tracker, and he was quick and light on his paws, which made catching prey very easy for him. By the time he was made a Prey-Hunter, alongside Buzz, he had managed to find a way to keep his anxiety under control, but he had grown into a much quieter cat than he was before. Still, he enjoyed being able to spend his time with Buzz again. His brother, and his parents, are the most important thing to Burr, second only to the good of the tribe.
