Description: A cinnamon tabby she-cat with a marbled coat, darker tail tip, and golden eyes.
Description Summary:
Dahlia is a unique cat in that she has a special pattern on her body. Her fur is a lighter, almost cinnamon color with dark stripes weaving from head to toe. These stripes come together in a way that makes the she-cat appear marbled with the different shades. There is also a very dark spot at the end of her tail that is almost a shade of chocolate coloring. It's as if someone painted this marvelous mix of orange-browns then dipped her tail in a dark color for the heck of it. She also has a bright pink nose planted between two golden eyes to offset all the browns this she-cat boasts.
Alongside this mix of color, this she-cat also sports a shorter pair of legs from the average cat. She inherited her father's more bulky frame, making her stubby and chubby. It's not that the she-cat eats a lot or doesn't exercise, its more or less her genetics that make her appear more portly. That and her longer fur doesn't help with it's natural poof giving her extra weight.
Personality:
Soft-spoken to a fault, Dahlia is a feline that blends into the background. In fact, she has never really raised her voice for any reason so many cats don't notice she's there half the time. Her gentle demeanor helps her to more or less hide in plain sight among her fellow clanmates. She doesn't purposely try to hide from others in this way, it pretty much comes with the territory of being so hushed. Dahlia actually finds delight in never being in the spotlight. It allows her time to sit back and study her surroundings without others disturbing her train of thought. Intelligent and observant, she takes pride in noticing the tiniest of details when watching situations presented to her. She then takes these things and uses them as a way to learn new things. Forever thinking before acting, she uses what she picks up on to calculate the best means to complete a task ahead of her.
There is a downfall to the she-cat's observative nature, however. She tends to be very absent-minded, forgetting to take care of her given responsibilities. Many times she has to be reminded to go out on her chosen patrols or to head out on hunts. She even has a little bit of difficulty remembering her commitments to her friends or family. Those small details she loves to find so much can distract her from what she should really be doing at any given time. It's not so much that she can't focus on a task but more so that she gets fascinated by other things to a point she just forgets what she was doing. So while very good at keeping in the background, those higher up in her clan are forced to keep their eye on her to make sure she doesn't stray.
Another disadvantage is that Dahlia has a rough time socializing with others. She never knows what to say or what sorts of things to discuss to appeal to others. She will even watch how other cats chat to one another but when she tries to apply the same techniques to a conversation she comes across as very awkward. She has been called weird on more than one occasion for her blubbering when speaking to other but she really does try her best. She just has a heck of a time finding the words to express what she really wants to say. She usually ends up laughing at herself and trying to sneak away because she knows she's made a fool of herself.
History:
Lightpelt - Rainclan - Mother - Adoptable
Bramblebush - Rainclan - Father - Adoptable
Magnoliapaw - Rainclan - Sister - Adoptable
Orchidpaw - Rainclan - Sister - Adoptable
What can be said about Dahlia's birth? Her parents were the typical love struck couple eager to start a family. Lightpelt was an agile she-cat, well known for her good looks and quick movements. Her father Bramblebush was the exact opposite, bulky and intimidating. He couldn't match Lightpelt's speed and agility but if he got ahold of you, he could pack a punch. And like cats like to say, opposites attract.
The two started with some light conversation at first, both discussing how the younger cats of the clan had potential or how others did with their hunts. Conversations that would be had between say two mentors versus friends. The two discovered that they both enjoyed helping others out in any way they can and they set about to working together. They would spend lots of time with each other after this, going about helping the clan. They'd go on daily hunts, help apprentices train, help the elders about their den, anything and everything to be helpful. During their endeavors assisting the whole clan, love began to blossom. The two would be caught cuddled up napping or playfully flirting with one another. Then one thing led to another and boom, Lightpelt discovered she was expecting. Delighted by this, Bramblebush kept a close eye on Lightpelt, making sure she didn't do anything to strenious.
Some time had passed before Lightpelt went into labor, moving herself to the nursery with the aid of Bramble and the medicine cat of the time. After what seemed like several hours, Light gave birth to three beautiful kits. As they examined their babies, they came to a realization, all three kits were she-cats. A full litter of healthy females. Taking this into account, the pair decided to name the girls after flowers that they had heard of or seen before. The eldest and largest of the three, they named Magnoliakit. For the middle kit, they chose the name Orchidkit. While the smallest and youngest of the bunch, they named Dahliakit. The three girls were perfect little bundles of joy and the pair took great care to nuture and protect them. Lightpelt was constantly grooming them and cuddling them in the first couple moons. Then as they began to open their eyes and reach new milestones, she set to teaching them the small things. About how to stalk and hunt, how to play without hurting one another, what was right and wrong. She was the loving mother that any cat wished they had the luck to be born with. Bramblebush also played a large role with teaching them during the times he'd visit. The pair wanted their babies to grow into strong members of the clan and they intended to teach them everything to get them there.
It was early on that Dahliakit showed signs of being a quiet cat. She really didn't meow or purr much, only yelping if one of her sisters accidentally plowed her over during play or something. While it was clear she wasn't mute, her parents still worried some for the young she-cat. It wasn't often that young kits were just so calm and quiet. Most were so boisterous and playful in their first moons. Yet she seemed more at peace sitting back, away from the spotlight, to watch the entire nursery. She also started to exhibit signs of not being all up there, if you know what is meant by that. She would kinda just lose focus a lot and get distracted. If her mother asked her to do something, she would tend to wander and seemingly procrastinate. She didn't purposely avoid orders, she more or less got pulled away by things she found more interesting. This made it hard to keep her attention, making it a concern when the kits reached 6 moons.
As the kits were named apprentices, however, a devastating event rocked the clans. An earthquake shook the land, forcing the clans to evacuate their homes to take safety with the tribe of the mountains. The family stayed close with one another, reaching safety with the rest of their clan. With things so scrambled, the she-cats were not able to truly start training. So now Dahliakit goes day to day trying to learn from the tribe so she can train properly when the clans have settled.
