Name: Dappleheart
Age: 52 moons
Gender: she-cat
Clan: Formerly NightClan. Current clan pending.
Rank: Warrior
Picture:
Description:
Dappleheart is a good looking, slim tortoiseshell she-cat who is well aware of how she looks to others. She is often grooming to make sure she looks good (what if others were to judge her, after all) and highlighting the fact that her pelt is very silky. Her paws are speckled with cream and white, making it look a bit like she has just walked through milk. Her chest and underbelly are of a similar pattern, with the cream stretching all the way up to her lower jaw. While Dappleheart greatly loves the color of her pelt, she has a bit of a dislike for her other striking feature: her pale eyes. Every time she looks into a pool of water, her pale green eyes stare back. Dappleheart wouldn't call herself vain, but she doesn't think these are her most pleasing physical feature or that it should be one of the first thing that another cat notices about her. Her eyes are just far too pale - hardly green at all. This annoys her.
Description Summary: Slim tortoiseshell she-cat with pale green eyes and a mostly white chest and underbelly.
Personality:
Dappleheart is a cat wrapped inside of a mirror. She is intelligence, good looking, and kind - but that's what others see. Inside, she feels like she's slowly falling apart. It doesn't feel like other cats should check themselves so much or worry the way that she does. Is she good enough? Will she be remembered past her death? How can she positively affect the clan which wont make her life feel meaningless?
All of these questions and anxieties are constantly shifting around inside of Dappleheart and she is constantly looking for a way to manage her own past. Raised in a situation where she put herself under a lot of pressure to preform well, she constantly feels like she should do better. Dappleheart likes - almost needs - well-defined boundaries and clear instructions. This helps her to know what parameters she needs to reach to be 'good' or 'enough.' If she doesn't have those, how does she know that she is worthy of her position within the clan or that she can outperform expectations? Change and new things are intimidating.
Dappleheart takes solace and strength from the familiar. Her best friend, Mothlight, is her rock. She is there whenever Dappleheart needs her and it has shown Dappleheart that perhaps her kindness is not just a mask for approval from others. Perhaps Mothlight brings out the best in her - the best she was always capable of and always had.
History:
Like most others, Dappledpaw became an apprentice at 6 moons. However, early on, she failed to really follow the directions of the senior warriors. Dapplepaw was constantly under a perceived pressure to preform well - even over preform - even when that pressure was mostly self-designed. She was the only kit to older parents who struggled to have offspring, and as such, she was very close to them (perhaps a little unhealthily so). Placed under a lot of pressure to do well - to make a name for herself before the people around her got too old to see her achievements, Dapplepaw gained a bit too much of a thirst for attention and approval. However, the constant pushing from her own desires resulted in clashes with cats older than herself. She found herself able to make friends with other apprentices, but the friendships were shallow and often broke off quickly. An acceptation to this was Cloudpaw, someone that Dapplepaw found herself attached to and a very close friendship bloomed. Even still, she found herself lonely.
All of this changed when the warrior Paleclaw took an interest in her journey and introduced her to his apprentice, Mothpaw. Mothpaw was a couple moon's younger than Dapplepaw, but they quickly became fast friends. Dapplepaw had been desperate for more friends and she suddenly had not one, but two. It was late into Dapplepaw's apprenticeship when both of her parents passed, one quite soon after the other, from a sudden illness and then an untreated infection. She found herself struggling to reconcile her own need for approval with a lack of cats to gain approval from. Faced with her warrior ceremony, Dappleheart had to question where she wanted her path to go from here.
The forest seemed to become more dangerous as Dapplepaw became Dappleheart. Dappleheart's reevaluation of her skills became an almost closed-offness and a reservation for how she should handle situations. A fox in RainClan territory drove her best friend Mothlight to paranoia - or so it appeared to Dappleheart. She was forced to turn outward, setting her own conflicting morals and minor mid-life crisis aside to reassure her friend. Dappleheart found solace in this reassures for herself as well. It calmed the confusion and the feeling that her own life was falling apart. However, even after that danger passed, each new challenge felt like it would shake her a bit more. The earthquake that shook the Clans felt like a last straw to Dappleheart, but she has held herself together as best as she can. Even still, the edges are fraying a little as she wonders what her purpose is within the Clan and what she can do to try and make her life somehow worth it.
